http://thesop.org/story/opinion/2010/08/05...-did-she-go.php Published:August 5th, 2010 11:15 EST Lisa Stone Vanished In Dallas Two Months Ago. Where did she go? By John G. Kays It is not about sexuality that is important to most people who care, it is what we do for our community and out family, our friends and just human compassion for others that matter in the world we live in daily. Lisa Stone Whatever happened to Lisa Stone? Lisa stopped answering her cell phone, her emails and posting on Facebook on June 4th, two months ago yesterday. June 4th is a familiar date to me. I found Lisa`s case fascinating, while watching a segment on Jane Velez- Mitchell. I grew up in Dallas and felt as if I knew Lisa, even though I probably never did. I was up in Dallas on business and after I finished with my work I drove by Lisa Stone`s house, which is located in Northeast Dallas. After some struggle in finding the house, and with some assistance from a Minimart clerk who had a Mapsco, I located the house. I took a few photographs of the house, which looked different to me from what I had seen on JVM`s Issues. I did feel a definite energy field emanating from the house. I can`t exactly say what this energy was telling me. Distress? An SOS? The news footage of the Dallas police removing the caged-cats ran through my mind. And then I remembered the candlelight vigil of friends and family from earlier July. But all was quiet and still and hot on Tuesday, August 3rd when I visited. I got out of there quick. Don`t know just why? Intuition tells me the trail is getting colder now. I reviewed all the articles that have been written on Lisa Stone`s case to see what I may have missed the first time around. Also, I joined the Facebook page, Looking for Lisa Stone "help us find her! Lisa has some very close friends who really care about her. Her closest friend, I believe, is Tina Wiley. Other close friends are Joni Shannon and Tammy Markle. The most significant clue to date, since Lisa went missing, is Joni Shannon actually seeing Lisa`s partner of 15 years disposing of many of Lisa`s precious belongings in a dumpster near her house. Joni found Lisa`s birth certificate, her brother`s death certificate, personal bibles and I believe, a hand-written card to her grandmother. It`s hard to believe that Joni Shannon caught the partner (Sherry Henry) red-handed, tossing out these important documents and mementos of Lisa Stone`s. For me, this is like saying she`s not going to need any of these things anymore. It suggests that Sherry Henry knows what happened to Lisa Stone. It also shows contempt for her. Lisa`s birth certificate is a fundamentally personal and valuable document. You dare not touch it. And Sherry Henry must have known how much that Lisa loved her deceased brother, Dennis Stone, who died of Aids in 1997. To throw away his death certificate is forbidden territory. The issue with the cats is not all that clear. There were 26 cats and they were not being taken care of properly. But this was after Lisa was already gone. Tina Wiley has said that Lisa took good care of the house pets when she would visit her. The deterioration was due to the negligence of the partner, Sherry Henry. A theory of mine is that perhaps the 26 cats were a bone of contention between the partners. And why wouldn`t they be? That`s a big expense, and if Lisa was having financial problems, the feeding and caring for 26 cats is going to be a problem. The fact that Sherry completely abandoned the cats after Lisa went missing, paints a picture of psychological afterthought. Like here`s what I think about my life with Lisa and our 26 cats! This behavior, to me, shows contempt-more for the life they led than the cats per se. Tina Wiley has said of Lisa, she was down on her luck. " This down-note is how we frame our scene in early June, when Lisa Stone was last heard of. We don`t have a great amount of evidence so far, but it`s looking like foul play is involved. Lisa wouldn`t just run off, according to her friends. Just what happened, the how and why, are unknowns for now. I grew up in Dallas, and felt as if I had known Lisa. I don`t think I ever did though? But I understand what people are like up there. Friends have produced a cool video of Lisa, which has lots of photographs, some dating back to her high school days. I will link it for you here. On Friday, August 6th, there will be another vigil for Lisa outside her house. This case touches you, so get involved. People matter. Lisa was loved by so many.

http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2...-hunt-coun.html Dallas police search area of Hunt County in investigation of missing woman Lisa Stone 7:26 PM Thu, Jul 15, 2010 Scott Goldstein/Reporter Lisa Stone Dallas police looking for clues in the disappearance of a 51-year-old woman searched an area of Hunt County for several hours Thursday morning but found nothing. Evidence in the disappearance of Lisa Stone (right) pointed detectives to the area near Greenville, police said. In addition to Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel, those searching included members of the Search One Rescue Team. They looked through about a square-mile of grass and wooded areas, police said. "We're making every effort to try to locate Lisa Stone," said Sgt. Gene Reyes, a supervisor in the Special Investigations Unit. "Unfortunately it did not turn up anything." Stone of northeast Dallas was last seen by a neighbor on June 6. Last week, authorities searched her home, questioned her partner and seized 26 cats said to be living in filthy conditions. Friends and family held a vigil for Stone on Sunday night. A Facebook page has also been set up to provide updates on the case. Anyone with information on Stone can call Dallas police at 214-671-3661. |

So far no crime has been established in the disappearance of Lisa Stone, a Far East Dallas woman last seen on June 4, said her friend Tina Wiley. But realistically, Wiley and other friends hope to lay Stone's body to rest and find the person responsible for whatever happened to her. "We hope for a miracle," said Wiley, "but we pretty much know the situation. If foul play has occurred, we want to find her and put her to rest properly -- and then find the perpetrator and get justice." The friends will hold a candlelight vigil for Stone at 8 tonight in front of her home at 3323 Truxillo St. Police who have been investigating Stone's disappearance have questioned her partner, Sherry Henry, and have searched for clues in a grassy and wooded area of Hunt County near Greenville. Police said certain evidence led to that search but nothing was found. Go to the jump to learn more about the missing-persons case and the vigil. Stone, 51, was last seen by a neighbor on June 4. Some of her personal papers and items were later found in a trash bin behind a convenience store near her home. Police also searched the home where Henry lived with Stone. "The police have a few leads and tips that they're following, but there's been no big break in the case," Wiley said. She said that while the hope is that Stone will be found alive, that's probably not realistic. "It's been two months. She didn't have a penny on her. Her purse was at home; her money was at home. There's been no activity on her credit card." The vigil is being organized by friends of Stone's who attended Mesquite High with her in the '70s. They graduated in 1977 and reconnected in recent years through Facebook. Wiley, one of those friends, said they began to hold reunions and other social events and all quickly became close again. Among those scheduled to speak at tonight's vigil is Joe Jaynes, a Collin County commissioner who also went to high school with Stone. Singer Billy White will perform. Wiley said the group of friends is working to have a billboard put up on LBJ Freeway hoping that it will spur anyone to come forward who knows or saw something related to Stone's disappearance. The group also hopes a reward will be set up for information about her disappearance. TIPS: Anyone with information about Lisa's disappearance is asked to call the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-4316 or email lookingforlisastone@yahoo.com. http://eastdallasblog.dallasnews.com/archi...issing-far.html |

Vigil held for missing Dallas woman 12:00 AM CDT on Saturday, August 7, 2010 By JON NIELSEN / The Dallas Morning News jnielsen@dallasnews.com Friends of a missing Far East Dallas woman had a vigil Friday night, two months after she disappeared. Nearly 70 people gathered in front of the home that Lisa Stone, 51, owned on a quiet cul-de-sac in the 3300 block of Truxillo Street. They wore maroon shirts emblazoned with "Looking for Lisa Stone" on the back and lighted candles in her memory. Event organizer Joni Shannon said she hoped the vigil would honor Stone and remind people that their friend is still missing. "We don't want to let this thing die right now," Shannon said. "We can't believe it's been two months. She would've come back by now. There would've been a body found." Dallas police detectives are still seeking clues. Shortly after Stone's June 4 disappearance, friends found her personal items, including family photos, jewelry and heirlooms, in a trash bin behind a convenience store near her home. Investigators questioned Stone's partner, Sherry Henry, and have searched a rural area of Hunt County near Greenville. Nothing was found. Henry wouldn't allow police in the house she and Stone shared, but when authorities obtained a search warrant they found no evidence of foul play – only 26 cats living in filthy conditions. Henry has declined to comment on Stone's disappearance. "We're not making any progress but trying to contact more people who know her," Dallas police Sgt. Gene Reyes said. "Somebody out there knows what happened. We just need them to call us. It's been very frustrating." http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...n1.361cbb8.html |

News Friends Remember Missing Dallas Woman Lisa Stone On Her Birthday By Andrea Grimes, Fri., Sep. 3 2010 @ 3:04PM Categories: Crime, News This weekend will mark two months since the last time Lisa Stone was seen in Dallas, and today a billboard went up at the intersection of LBJ Freeway and Northwest Highway with Stone's photo and information on the $10,000 reward for information regarding her disappearance. The billboard was paid for with donations collected by Stone's friends from the Mesquite High School Class of '77, who have lobbied relentlessly for answers to her disappearance over the past several weeks, setting up a Facebook group with more than 1,800 members and holding vigils outside her Far East Dallas home in hopes of getting the word out about Stone and, of course, to support each other in the loss of their friend. But while every day that passes without word on their friend is difficult, today is especially hard: It's Stone's 52nd birthday. Last night I met with the cadre of searchers and supporters who've been "Looking for Lisa," as their signature T-shirts say, since her disappearance. Gathered at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Mesquite, they painted signs to place in the front yard of the home Lisa Stone lived in off Ferguson Road. Mesquite High alumna Beverly Williams Scaling picked up multicolored signs from Party City and a packet of markers. Over Bloody Marys and the din of the Cowboys game, Stone's friends wrote messages: "We won't stop looking!" "I have to know what happened," said Tina Wiley, one of Lisa's close friends, surrounded by her fellow MHS alums. So far, no arrests have been made, though police told me yesterday they are pursuing several leads and awaiting forensic test results. They're hoping the $10,000 reward will get their phones ringing. Anyone with information about Stone's disappearance is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 877-373-8477. http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark...allas_woman.php |

http://www.dallasvoice.com/vigil-mark-6-mo...ed-1055042.html The first vigil, outside Stone’s home in July. Last week we reported that Dallas police say they have “nothing to go on” in the disappearance of 52-year-old Lisa Stone, a lesbian from Dallas who’s believed to have met with foul play. Over the weekend one of Stone’s longtime friends, Tina Wiley, sent along word that a vigil will be held this coming Friday, Dec. 10 to mark six months since Stone vanished. “The first vigil was held in the heat of summer on July 4,” Wiley said. “With heavy hearts over our missing friend and the long wait for justice, we are now holding a Christmas prayer vigil for Lisa. Please join us in a show of support for our fellow classmate and beloved friend.” The vigil will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday outside the home Stone shared with her partner, in the 3300 Block of Truxillo Drive in Dallas. |

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw....11d597a65.html Authorities question missing Dallas woman's partner, seize 26 cats from filthy home 03:15 PM CDT on Thursday, July 8, 2010 By TARYN LUNA / The Dallas Morning News Lisa Stone Dallas police investigating the disappearance of a 51-year-old woman today searched her home, where they questioned her partner and seized 26 cats living in filthy conditions. Lisa Stone was last seen June 4. Her friends are passing out fliers in her northeast Dallas neighborhood in the 3500 block of Truxillo Street, near Ferguson and Shiloh roads. On Wednesday, authorities secured a search warrant for Stone's home because her girlfriend hasn't cooperated with police, Dallas police Sgt. R. Matthews said. When police entered the home today, they found it flea-ridden and covered in feces from more than two dozen alley cats living there with Stone's partner. Animal control officers seized the cats, as well as two dogs. Police took the woman in for questioning but said she is not considered a suspect in Stone's disappearance. WFAA-TV (Channel reported that some of Stone's personal belongings, including photographs and her birth certificate, were found in a trash bin near her home. Nothing found so far points to her whereabouts, but her friends fear the worst. "I'm sick to my stomach," Tina Wiley told Channel 8, “because I feel like some harm has come to her or she is hurt, in some type of danger." Her friends have also started a Facebook page where they post updates on the case. Anyone with information can call Dallas police at 214-671-4316. |

http://cbs11tv.com/local/lisa.stone.missing.2.1799090.html Friends Of Missing Dallas Woman Gather And Pray Jul 11, 2010 10:18 pm US/Central Reporting Arezow Doost DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ¯ Friends and neighbors of a Dallas woman who has been missing since June 4 gathered in front of her home to pray Sunday. "I was in daily contact with her we were very close," said Tina Wiley, who went to high school with Lisa Stone, 51, in Mesquite. "I am so heartbroken and just can't sleep, eat or work." Friends and family placed candles along a walkway to Stone's house and flowers near the front door. "We have tried repeatedly to get answers from her partner and she has not been forthcoming with any answers," Wiley said. Police searched the home last week and questioned her partner of 15 years. Investigators took 26 cats and two dogs living in filthy conditions from the home. But those close to Stone are nervous: Friend Joni Shannon said she found Stone's personal belongings in a Dumpster near her residence. "You don't throw away someone's birth certificate, her brother's death certificate, bibles and personal things that Lisa would have never thrown away," Shannon said. "She would have never thrown away all the pictures from her childhood and from high school and her brother's things." Neighbors said Stone was having financial problems, but wouldn't just disappear. "What I wouldn't give to have her peak her little head over when I'm in the backyard doing whatever I'm doing," said Susan Scott, next door neighbor. "It's been really hard." For now, those closest to Stone said prayers keep them calm and hope their friend just comes home safe. Dallas police questioned Stone's partner, but investigators said she is not a suspect in the disappearance. CBS 11 News tried to talk to her but she did not answer the door or phone. Stone's friends have started a Facebook page, where they are updating each other on the case. |

http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local-beat/Pray...n-98214884.html Prayer Vigil Held For Missing Woman By SUSY SOLIS Updated 11:15 PM CDT, Sun, Jul 11, 2010 Dozens of friends and neighbors prayed for the safe return of 51-year-old Lisa Stone at a vigil held in her neighborhood in East Dallas. Lisa Stone was last seen by a neigbhor on June 4. "She goes to a neighbor's house for dinner every night and on the 5th, she didn't show up, and so that's when they kind of started worrying," said Tammy Markle, who has been friends with Stone since the age of 5. Stone would post daily updates on Facebook -- her friends became concerned when Stone's posts stopped abruptly. A neighbor filed a missing person's report, but when police questioned Stone's partner of 15 years, who shares a home with her, found nothing out of the ordinary and called off the investigation. Weeks later, when a friend of Stone's began investigating on her own, she made an unnerving discovery. "I went back to the trash dumpster and it just shocked me what I found; Lisa's birth certificate, all her pictures, her Bible, anything that was precious was in the trash dumpster and it broke my heart," said Joni Shannon, a long time friend of Stone's. She presented the evidence to police, who opened up another investigation. Investigators secured a search warrant when Stone's partner, Sherry Henry, did not let police inside the home. Authorities later seized 26 cats from the home. "I don't know what to think. I don't want to speculate," Merkle said, "But what I can say is, there's just too many questions." Friends have posted signs and created a Facebook page hoping to spread the word about Stone's disappearance. Shannon said she won't give up the search for her friend until she has answers. "You pray for the best, but we are fearing the worst now," Shannon said. "It's been too long, so we're praying that she will be found and justice will be served." |

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/Friends-hol...n-98215109.html Friends hold vigil for missing Dallas woman by JONATHAN BETZ Posted on July 11, 2010 at 10:39 PM Updated yesterday at 10:42 PM DALLAS — It's now been more than a month since Lisa Stone disappeared. On Sunday night, friends and family members staged a candlelight vigil in front of the Dallas home that she had shared with another woman. Ever since Stone disappeared, her supporters have been pushing for help to get this mystery solved. Dozens cried and prayed for her safe return Sunday evening. "We're all heartsick. We miss her and we want her back," said friend Tina Wiley. But as they hope for the best, many are bracing for bad news. No one has seen the 51-year-old since June 4. "I'm just furious. I'm sick to my stomach," Wiley said. "Something is wrong, desperately wrong." Police have questioned Stone's partner, but friends said she hasn't helped in the search, and refuses to talk with the media. Joni Shannon said she caught the partner throwing away Stone's personal items. "Here's her birth certificate. Who leaves without your birth certificate?" Shannon asked. Stone's personal documents and photos were on display at the vigil. "This is all we have left of her," Shannon said. Desperate for anwsers, friends of the missing woman prayed in front of Stone's home, where her partner still lives. Convinced that she knows something, the Stone supporters are applying pressure — posting signs in the yard and laying flowers and photos on the doorstep. They are desperately hoping for answers as the clock ticks and concern deepens. "It's very hard to keep your composure," Wiley said. "You just have to take a deep breath and keep going; that's all you can do." |

http://www.wfaa.com/news/crime/Dallas-poli...r-98064159.html Dallas police search home of missing woman, quiz partner by REBECCA LOPEZ Posted on July 8, 2010 at 4:58 PM Updated Thursday, Jul 8 at 8:33 PM DALLAS — There's been a big development in the case of Lisa Stone, the Dallas woman who has now been missing for 34 days. Heavily-armed police spent hours serving a search warrant on her home Thursday morning to collect potential evidence — including 26 cats and two dogs. Detectives are talking to Stone's partner of 15 years. They want to know what she can tell them about the woman's disappearance. "Lisa is not off somewhere. She is not," said neighbor Susan Scott. "I know for a fact she would not let it get this far, and she loved animals. Oh, my God — if she knew what was going on now." Police said they haven't been able to find evidence of a crime inside the residence. They did bring in Stone's partner to question her, but she was released her this afternoon. She has declined to talk to News 8 about Stone's disappearance. Neighbors like Susan Scott are becoming increasingly nervous about Stone's whereabouts. "I have known for quite some time that something very bad is up," Scott said. Stone, a 51-year-old former account executive, vanished in early June. No one has seen or heard from her since then. Neighbors discovered some of her treasured personal belongings in a trash container. "Her brother died several years ago, and she talked about him every day, and his death certificate was found in dumpster," Scott said "All of their pictures growing up. I mean, stuff she would never let go." Police said they believe something has happened to Lisa Stone, and say they are going to increase their efforts to find her. Dallas police homicide detectives are helping with this case. For now, they say they have no leads. |

http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2...-hunt-coun.html Dallas police search area of Hunt County in investigation of missing woman Lisa Stone 7:26 PM Thu, Jul 15, 2010 | Scott Goldstein/Reporter Lisa Stone Dallas police looking for clues in the disappearance of a 51-year-old woman searched an area of Hunt County for several hours Thursday morning but found nothing. Evidence in the disappearance of Lisa Stone pointed detectives to the area near Greenville, police said. Anyone with information on Stone can call Dallas police at 214-671-3661. |

http://technorati.com/blogging/article/soc...-aids-hunt-for/ Social Media Increasingly Aids Hunt for Missing Americans Author: John Egan Published: September 03, 2010 at 9:43 am Sept. 3 should be a happy day for friends of Lisa Stone of Dallas. It’s Stone’s birthday—a day that should be filled with cake and birthday cards and laughter and memories. Instead, with Stone’s 52nd birthday upon them, friends are searching for her. She’s been missing since June 4. But rather than let their anguish get the best of them, Stone’s loved ones have held prayer vigils and spread the word about the missing woman. Social media tools like Facebook and Twitter have proved invaluable for the effort to find Stone (photo). In an August 2009 article, the Chicago Tribune noted: “In the rapidly changing digital age, the same social networking sites that often are derided as places to trade gossip and waste time are increasingly being used to solve crimes and aid police in the hunt for missing persons. Yet police and private investigators say they’ve only begun tapping into the resources on sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, where millions of people from around the world instantly share information at the click of a button.” One of the most powerful tools in the Stone outreach arsenal has been Facebook. More than 1,800 people are members of a Facebook page dedicated to finding Stone. Through the FundRazer tool on Facebook, leaders of the “Looking for Lisa Stone” campaign are raising money to pay for an independent investigation into her disappearance. Several videos about Stone’s disappearance are posted on YouTube. “It has been 3 months now and the trail ... is growing cold ... so, we must find answers NOW!” longtime friend Tina Wiley wrote on Facebook. Wiley isn’t the only loved one turning to social media for help in finding a missing person. Each day, about 2,300 Americans are reported missing. Family and friends have organized search efforts online to hunt for Clay Branham, 30, of Ely, Nev., who was last spotted July 17 checking out of a lodge in Kanah, Utah. Branham remains missing. The “Finding Clay Branham” search group has more than 3,000 friends on Facebook. In January, friends and family of Susan Powell launched a 72-hour social media blitz—through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube—in hopes of finding the missing stockbroker and mother of two from Utah. Powell, 28, was last seen at her home in West Valley City on Dec. 6, 2009. Powell’s Facebook page has more than 46,000 members. The search for Powell continues. Earlier this year, her friends and family established the Susan Cox Powell Foundation, in part “to assist families of missing persons by providing no-cost strategic media consulting services to ensure that their loved one’s face and name remain in the public eye as long as possible.” The foundation says on its website: “Susan’s legacy is service. Her example of providing for others and loving her friends and family through their trials has set the standard for the foundation which bears her name. We share her desire to help others and to provide service to those who experience the painful ordeal of a missing loved one.” |

http://cbs11tv.com/local/lisa.stone.billboard.2.1921006.html Friends Of Missing Dallas Woman Put Up Billboard Sep 19, 2010 11:10 pm US/Central By Andrea Lucia DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ¯ A new billboard overlooking Highway 635 is aiming to find answers in the disappearance of Lisa Stone, the 52-year-old Dallas woman who was last seen in June. Friends gathered to pray near the sign Sunday night, lighting candles for their friend and letting a host of balloons sail into the air in her honor. "She left her pets. She left everything that she loved," said Tina Wiley, a friend who helped organize the gathering. As time slowly stretches on, Stone's friend's said they've lost hope of finding her alive. "It's just now gotten to the point I can say that she's dead," said Jodi Shannon, Stone's friend of nearly 40 years. "Yea, she's been murdered. And we're fairly sure we know who it was." These high school friends have raised money for additional billboards and private investigators. They've even done some of their own investigating. They believe they've found the woman who did it, but police have interviewed her and let her go without an arrest. "I followed her to the dumpster and watched her dispose of Lisa's personal belongings… and I have no doubt," said Shannon. Stone's friends said they will keep searching for closure despite their worst fears. |

Women Search For Missing Friend Via Facebook Posted by Jackie Cohen on March 4th, 2011 6:56 PMShare85 Comments (0) Three friends who stay in touch via Facebook are now use the site to aid a Dallas missing person investigation. The women had been close during high school in the late 1970s, had a reunion three decades later and stayed in touch daily via Facebook. Their clique actually added up to four until Lisa Stone suddenly lost touch with them. The other three, Tina Wiley, Joni Shannon and Tammye Markle, became suspicious once the hadn’t heard from Lisa in two weeks. Like Markle told a CBS interviewer: It just was very strange that we had lots of activity from her on Facebook, and then the next day, she was gone. I mean, there was just nothing there. So, you know, naturally, when someone disappears like that, you think that they’ve — something has happened, they’ve been the victim of foul play of some kind… When I would try to call Lisa, her phone was disconnected. And I thought it was because of financial reasons. So, things started adding up. And then when I heard that the neighbor had turned in a missing persons report, and the police closed it after five days, immediately, I just took action. To make a long story short, the three women created a group on Facebook with help from their friend Beverly Williams Scalin. Some 2,253 members now belong to the group called Looking for Lisa Stone… help us find her. The trio also claim to have found clues about the disappearance on the social network, and share information about the case with the local Dallas Police Department and Crime Stoppers. The women suspect a murder took place and appear to have a suspect in mind. We continue to see examples of people using Facebook to find missing persons, which seems appropriate given how the site connects long-lost friends with one another. However, sleuthing a disappearance benefits from using all possible media to get the word out. Fortunately, that’s exactly what the women in Dallas are doing. If you happen to know anything about the case, or want to know more about it, click here to visit a website called Looking For Lisa Stone. http://www.allfacebook.com/women-search-fo...acebook-2011-03 |

http://www.dallasvoice.com/lisa-stone-case...ed-1075117.html Posted on 04 May 2011 at 4:10pm Sherry Henry Thursday will mark 11 months since Dallas lesbian Lisa Stone’s unsolved disappearance. On Saturday at 9 p.m. Central time, CBS’ 48 Hours Mystery will air an hourlong episode about the case. The 48 Hours episode, called “The Facebook Detectives,” will focus on Stone’s friends use of the social media site to keep the search for her alive. Watch a promo for the episode below. The episode also includes an interview with Stone’s former partner, Sherry Henry, who is the only “person of interest” in her disappearance. Dallas police have long believed the then-52-year-old Stone met with foul play, but say they don’t have enough evidence to make an arrest. Sgt. Eugene Reyes, of DPD’s special investigations unit, told Instant Tea today that he was surprised to hear about Henry’s interview with 48 Hours, given that she hasn’t been talking to other media or cooperating with police. “We have nothing new, and some of the DNA tests that we were waiting for just didn’t pan out, so we’re back to square one with only one person of interest,” Reyes said. “Everything’s circumstantial. There are plenty of pointed fingers, but it’s not going to be enough to get a conviction. … Some of these cases go on forever and ever.” Reyes said he hopes the 48 Hours episode leads to a break in the case, but he isn’t counting on it. The show’s producers have told him not to expect any major revelations, and he noted that a billboard advertising a $10,000 reward for information about Stone’s disappearance generated zero tips. But Stone’s friends remain optimistic. “We will find answers and justice for Lisa soon!” Tina Wiley declared on her Facebook page today, after announcing that she’s canceled her birthday plans so she can fly to New York this weekend. Wiley said after the 48 Hours broadcast, she’ll appear on CBS’ Early Show this coming Monday. But first, Wiley will appear on the the Channel 11 News, at 10 o’clock tonight. |
