Body Found in Ottawa County August 25, 2009 The Carroll Township Police Department received a report of a body floating in the water at Lamberjacks Marina in Oak Harbor. The body had been discovered by two people riding Jet skis in the area. An officer from the Carroll Township Police Dept. arrived on the scene and was able to confirm that is was in fact a human body. The police department immediately requested assistance from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation. The female body, presumed Caucasian and likely in her late teens, early 20s, was found in an isolated area of the marina and was recovered from the water by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Underwater Response Team. She is of thin build and was found wearing only a white tank top T-shirt and bra. There is a tattoo about 2 1/2 inches in diameter of a five-point star with a sunburst in the middle done in blue ink on her right front shoulder. Her arms were bound behind her back and her feet were tied together. The body was weighted down with two large cement blocks in 3 to 4-feet of water. The body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office where an autopsy will be performed. There was no immediate indication of the cause of death. It is estimated that the body may have been in the water one to two weeks. The case remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office and the Ottawa County Coroner with assistance from the Carroll Township Police Dept. Anyone with information about the ID of this person should call the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office at 419-734-4404.
