Alleged h**l's Angel still missing
Last Updated: Thursday, April 22, 1999 | 11:30 AM ET
CBC News
Halifax police say they are still investigating the mysterious disappearance of a h**l's Angel who vanished just before he was supposed to testify in court.
Detectives describe 35 year old Gregory Samuel Brushett as a member of the h**l's Angels motorcycle gang.

They say he has been missing for 14 days, and are still trying to find out what has happened to him.

Brushett was supposed to be in Supreme Court earlier this month to face drug trafficking charges, but never showed up.

According to a deal worked out between the crown attorney and his defence lawyer, Brushett was scheduled to admit guilt to three charges.

Brushett's car was found last week in Preston, a rural area outside of Dartmouth.

Police say they are still treating Brushett's disappearance as a missing person's case, but investigators have not ruled out foul play.

Top biker in Halifax court
Last Updated: Friday, November 13, 1998 | 11:12 PM ET
CBC News

A high level member of the Hells Angels motorcycle club is in court Wednesday in Halifax.

Gregory Samuel Brushett faces three counts of trafficking after an undercover agent infiltrated the gang. The bust was the culmination of a year long undercover operation by a former biker.

The court affidavit says Ray Smith made friends with the Hells Angels, dealt drugs for them, and met regularly with police to hand over the information. Inspector Jeff Geddes of the Halifax RCMP says that infiltration is more important than any charge against an individual.

Geddes says that paranoia in Halifax has forced the club to change its leadership. And clubs across the country are checking to make sure no one has infiltrated their chapters.

Second Nova Scotia Hells Angel missing
Last Updated: Wednesday, December 22, 1999 | 7:56 PM ET
CBC News
Nova Scotia RCMP say a man with ties to the h**l's Angels is missing. Randall Armand Mersereau was last seen Halloween weekend in the Truro and Shubenacadie area.
The 48-year-old former h**l's Angel disappeared a month after he was allegedly the target of a mysterious bomb blast at a used car dealership in Bible Hill. Police found his abandoned car along Highway 102, between Halifax and Truro.

RCMP Sergeant Wayne Noonan says investigators haven't linked the bombing with Mersereau's disappearance. He says police are treating the case like any other missing person case, despite widespread rumours of a reported bounty on his head by the h**l's Angels.

The police believe the Halifax chapter of the h**l's Angels may have a hit list as part of a plan to regain control of the drug trade in the province.

An investigator close to the case says some officers are working under the assumption that Mersereau has fallen victim to foul play. However, other officers are asking if, after the Bible Hill bombing, he staged his own disappearance and left his car at the side of the road to add credibility to it.

Mersereau is the second high profile local h**l's Angel to disappear this year. Greg Samuel Brushett disappeared in April, just before he was to appear in court on drug trafficking charges.

"By 1998 the Halifax operation was a shambles - plagued by internal weaknesses and external threats. Police had run an undecover operation that led to the arrest of the full-patch member Gregory Brushett. The bust sowed more dissension in the ranks, Brushett was kicked out. He didnt' show up for his court date to plead guilty on three cocaine trafficking charges. Police were sure he hadn't skipped town; they concluded Angels simply disposed of him."
