Hopefully the right person see this and we get these markers back to the Proper Place....wv171

Allmost sounds like a very bad collage prank that went terrible wrong...

Headstones found next to CSX tracks
(The following report appeared on the Orlando Sentinel website on February 6.)

ANTHONY, Fla. — More than two dozen headstones appeared overnight near a railroad line in Marion County, and authorities have no clue where they came from.

A man stumbled across the headstones while taking his daily walk Tuesday and notified authorities.

Marion County deputies responded to the 2100 block of Northeast 98th Street in Anthony, where they found 29 headstones arranged in neat lines next to a railroad track, according to an incident report.

At first, deputies thought the stones came from nearby Anthony Cemetery, but no headstones were missing from the cemetery, and none of the names on the stones near the railroad matched the cemetery's records.

Area residents told deputies that they heard loud thumps coming from around the railroad tracks after midnight Monday, according to the incident report.

Jenifer Fisher, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, said deputies called funeral homes and cemeteries, asking them to cross-check the names on the headstones with their own records, but there haven't been any matches. It leads deputies to think the headstones may have originated outside the county.

The names on the headstones are Jacob Mangold, Dublin Beck, Alice Roberts, Leroy Allen, Samuel Ratliff, Anna M. Hodge, Dillion Griffin, Edith E. Johnson, Donnie R. Flaniken, Gladys Argyle, James Millitan, Johnthan Pigford, Nathan Whittemore, Robert Brown, Nolan Swilley, Lee Thomas, John Cook, Charles A. Park, Geraldine Sapp, Glen Davis, Ruth Watkins, Jacqueline Thomas, David G. Beier, Peggy I. Windsor, William Grovitt, Michelle Sepia, Doc Tyler, Louise Farrior and Morris Thomas.

Looking up some of these names on the headstones they either came from the Carolinas or Texas... wish they had the dates

Sure Thank You Ell. for your time on this..

This I think where they was placed in a proper line, That about tell you they didn't fall off a railway car.

I think it was a Bad Prank that went wrong and now the guilty party feel's sorry for what happened..

It's kind of like they wanted them to be found but they didn't want to get caught unloading them..

I never did something like that, But I have done some stuff I was not too proud of the next day.. most time's too much drinking was involved in it LOL

But I kind of like you, I think with the date's any LE officer with the will to do it could track down the proper place's to ship them to or notify the family to where they are and can be picked up....

Them thing's cost a lot of money, I just got through buying 2 of them.. But I guess I seen worst prank's that went wrong in my lifetime..

If Fuel price's was about like in the $ 1.80-90's range, I would even fly down there in the Caravan and drop them off to the nearest airport for them poor family's free of charge , But now nobody can addford to even go on a joy ride hardly.. Much less try to do good deed for them poor family's..

I got friend's all over the nation for just a little good deed I did for people like that..

You think this might be a good little project we could try to do for these people????

I kind of feel sorry for these people I can't adford to deliver them to the family's but atleast they know where they can pick it up and this maybe give Porchlight a other nice write up in hopefull a major newspaper..

Local LE might be too busy to do this project right away ..

I PM Lauran and see what she think's about this case...

First WV, we have to find the dates on those stones... to make sure they are the correct people... if we had the dates I am sure we could trace a couple of them with the not so famous or well known names

i agree. if just the dates off one stone could be acquired, we could probably trace them all to the same cemetary. What a nasty prank! but it beats the pranks like taking down stop signs that can cost someone their lives...

Oh thanks for doing that. It would be relatively easy, even with dates from just a couple of the stones. the chances are better than even they all came from the same place.

LOL! I am so glad you are back! ROFL! I have missed your sense of humor!
I believe someone got a credit card in their dog's name. I know I always get a strange feeling when my vet sends something to Ozzie Halleck, or MoMo Halleck. lol. I have a card addressed to Tylenol Halleck, lol
