169ufpa- “Beth Doe” & 933dfmd- Betty Irene Redmond

Hi. I'm new to this sort of thing so please bare with me. :)

I'm from the area where they found the body of "Beth Doe". I'm not sure if this has been ruled out or not but I find these two women have too many similarities. The picture of Betty and the SKETCH of Beth look very similar.

Beth Doe:

Betty Redmond:
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/redmond_betty.html

Betty Irene Redmond from Pasadena, Maryland went missing on September 26th 1976. This date was the SAME date on the newspaper that parts of Beth Doe's body was wrapped in. I would love to know what was written in that newspaper. (Possibly the article of a missing Betty Irene Redmond???) You might be thinking the dates are too far apart. Beth was found 3 months later.. But she could possibly have been alive and held hostage in that time frame.
Another thing you might be thinking is the pregnancy. If this were the same woman, Betty would have been 6 months pregnant when she disappeared. And though it was never stated that she was, some women hide the pregnancy thing very well. (I know a women who hid hers up until the day she gave birth.) And maybe for some reason her husband didn't want to reveal this info.
Her husband claimed a 22-caliber gun was missing from their home. Beth Doe was shot in the neck (type of gun unknown)...
Now the number one thing that triggers me... Why suitcases?? It's strange because Betty's husband was said to have found her car at an Airport in Maryland. Suitcases-Airport. Coincidence? Maybe someone was angered that she was trying to get away or leaving...
And also Beth had writing on her hand. "WSR". Could these possibly be initials? Betty "R"edmond. The "R" being Redmond. What was her husband's first name? I can't find it anywhere. Could there have been William, Walter, ect. in her life? They say Betty also went by the last name McFadden. I'm not sure which is her maiden name. I seen a brother Walter listed on a genealogy website.
It states that Betty was 25 years old. Beth was said to be late teens to early 20's. Was that determined by looks? (I don't really think you can go by looks to figure age) And also the weight is a little different but then again pregnancy adds a few pounds.
Another thing is investigators think the murder was done by someone who "knew what they were doing" Someone said a possibly a butcher. I think it could be something along the lines of that. Maybe a hunter or a farmer. And I think the straw they found in the suitcases would lead to a rural area. (I read that Betty & her family lived out in the country...)
I could be totally off on this but I just think there are too many similarities. DNA was just taken from our Beth Doe. Why not try. Betty was said to have left behind two children. Could there be a match? Anyone have any thoughts?

Welcome to Porchlight....
I believe this has been looked into over the years, but I do think this is a very good possible...

Yes I have come back and looked at Betty many times here. I think the age is the biggest drawback. The moles as well. Moles can occur during pregnancy but I would think that Sept 1976 they would have been already present.

I am not far from carbon county either.. Welcome to the group.

Now that they have exhumed her body and new autopsy and dna taken we may find more soon.

Hi and thank you both for the welcome and for your replies.
Yes I agree the moles throw if off a bit. I actually never heard of getting them during pregnancy. That's news to me...
And yes there is an age difference but how is the age of the victim actually figured out? (Like I said in my prior post, this is all new to me.) Do they go by looks alone? I only ask because I'm 25 and people are constantly asking me what high school I go to... and no it's not flattering. Atleast not when your 25. I get a little annoyed
Anyways, I really hope they find something out with the use of her DNA. And I'm very happy they reburied her in a decent manner.

Age can be determined by sutures in the skull and dental info, it gives investigators a range to work with.

I know there is other ways also.
