He stood under the cloudless sky and admired the stars. They were always brilliant wonders to him, even as a child. They signified the unreachable. Dreams so big, so impossible, so... unattainable. Minutes ticked by as he watched those stars and he realized how much they still meant to him. Even though he'd reached the unattainable, conquered the impossible, they still mattered. He couldn't descibe it accurately enough, but it was somthing similiar to being blind and suddenly finding yourself able to see.

And the air! The air in Rapture wasn't exactly stuffy--Professor Langford kept her tree farm for just that reason--but more...used. No one expected surface quality air miles and miles beneath the ocean, but one simply got used to it.

But here in Revelry Junction the air was so clean, so open, so fresh that he could taste it. He didn't mind the state of the town or concern himself with the question of how it reached such a state in the first place. As he stood staring at the sky, the revolving lights on the carousel coloring his face shades of red, blue, and yellow, he saw opportunity.

Maybe Rue was an idiot for wandering back here, but he sort of felt like if he could get back to where he had started he could go home or find some connection to his world of his son or something else ridiculous like that. Plus it gave him a chance to look tragic and dramatic as he drifted aimlessly along through the deserted fair, all black silk and pale hair. He liked looking like some sort of heroine from a sad story; after all, as far as he could see he had gotten stuck in the roll of a fucked up Cinderella all his life. Why not play it up? It got him attention at home and let hara just go on assuming he was some vapid, pretty little bauble hanging off of Pell's arm. He liked pretending; it was easier to deal with.

The pain medications that Mimi girl had given him had been strong - and that did prompt the questions of just what she needed them for in the first place and why she was carrying them around with her at all times - so even if he was a little numbed and hazy he could at least walk. That was something exciting.

A stroll around the merry-go-round proved uneventful until he stumbled across the human standing beside it, staring at the sky. It was funny, how many humans there were here. It was like being back in Ferelithia, before everything that had happened. "Hey," He greeted, looking up at the stars himself and wondering if Thiede was up there, looking down on him and laughing. What an unpleasant thought.
Memories back when she was bold and strong
And waiting for the world to, come along
Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone

She lies and says she still loves him
Can't find a better man
