Alice [ Adventures in Wonderland ]

Oh gosh! That loud grumble just had to be her stomach! She almost felt compelled to sing about it. You know, if she hadn't felt like she was about to faint from the hunger. Wandering up to one of the booths with a huge smile on her face, she knocked on the wood of the counter, hoping the clerk would come out from behind the curtains in the back or something. As she waited, another dizzy spell came over her and she had to steady herself on the counter. Blinking it away, she suddenly felt a bit frightened. She had gone into the mirror in her room -- like she always did -- to go visit her friends in Wonderland and she ended up here. It was way less colorful than Wonderland. And most definitely less fun too. Glancing behind her towards the cityscape, a frown crossed her face. She would give anything to see the Tweedles bound up to her, or the White Rabbit roll by on his blades. Heck, she would even settle for the Cheshire Cat at this point! A small noise caught her attention and she turned back to the counter. There was a basket of delicious and steamy fries sitting ahead of her. She had no idea how they got there or how she was supposed to pay. Normally, she wouldn't just take them like this, but her stomach was so loud she figured the whole city could hear it. "Thank you," Alice called out warily. Then she swiped the basket and wandered over to the picnic tables, blowing on the fries to cool them off. |

Cowboy [ The Warriors ]

Stifling a yawn, Cowboy dug his hands in the back pockets of his wornout pants and approached the table. He rounded it and plopped himself down on the bench across from the girl already seated there. Luckily, it was someone he had met since he had arrived. Cowboy always like making new friends and all that slap happy crap (hell, he was the sweetest Warrior besides Rembrandt) but he had met so many new people... he was getting fairly sick of introducing himself. "Hey Alice," he nodded. Pausing, he eyed the french fries she was currently eating and thinned his lips. He tried to ignore them, but every time the smell hit his nose or his eyes caught a glimpse of them, his stomach rumbled loudly. "Where'd those come from?" |

"Cowboy!" Yay! A person to talk to! She watched as he sat down and debated on commenting on the fries. Once he asked about them she slid the basket to the middle of the table with a big grin on her face. "Go ahead and have some." Motioning to one of the booths behind him, she frowned. "I got it from there. There was no one there though. Just a basket of hot, freshly cooked fries. I felt bad because I had no way to pay, but I was so hungry!" Alice took a french fry and gnawed on it for a few moments before beaming her smile back to Cowboy. "Where's your friend?" |

Belle [ Beauty and the Beast ]

It had all happened so quickly. One moment Belle had been staring into the magical mirror the Beast had shown her, looking on with horror as her father struggled through the snow far away in the woods and the next she had found herself in this strange place; perhaps the mirror had taken her to him. It was like an adventure out of the books she loved to read, but then again most of her life had felt like a fairytale lately between the enchanted castle and the new friends she had made there. She had not had a chance to prepare for this adventure, either. In fact she was still wearing the yellow ball gown from the evening she and the Beast had shared. It was a beautiful dress, but not much suited to wandering around exploring a strange place. As she glanced around once more her brown eyes settled on a boy and a girl sitting not far from her. Perhaps they could help her out. "Excuse me," She called as she began walking towards them, lifting her skirt slightly to keep from getting too much sand on it. "I'm trying to find my father." Familiar words. The last time she had spoken them she had just entered the castle. |

With a huge (and kind of doofy) grin, Cowboy took a fry from the basket and popped it into his mouth. It tasted much like Cowboy thought heaven would taste. He savored it for a moment before chewing and swallowing -- and then answering her question. It wasn't polite to talk with your mouth full, after all. Even though most of his friends did. "Ajax?" He jabbed a thumb behind him, which sort of turned into a half-hearted wave of the hand. "He wandered off alone a couple days ago. I haven't seen him since. He does this occasionally though, and I know he can take care of himself, so I'm not worried." Cowboy tensed at the sound of another voice, but relaxed a bit when he turned and saw a woman in a cumbersome, yellow gown. He shook his head at her question, frowning slightly. He hadn't met anyone yet who could pass for a father. "I'm sorry, I haven't." Cowboy turned to Alice. Had she met anyone who could be this woman's father? |

Alice found herself growing quite fond of Cowboy and was happy to admit that she was relieved he was the one who stumbled upon her at this point in time. She was getting kind of sick of being alone. She took one more french fry in her right hand before pushing the remaining ones in the basket to him with her left. Alice was about to speak up about Cowboy's friend Ajax when she saw the woman approaching them. Alice gasped audibly at the sight of her. What a pretty dress! When Cowboy answered the question and looked to her, Alice thought for a few moments, going through all the people she had met here in her head. She couldn't remember anyone by that description -- that of a father (she hadn't met many people, now that she thought of it). "I'm sorry to say I haven't," she sadly offered. |

"Oh," Belle said, the word a slightly dejected sigh. Her expression remained as determined as ever, though. She wasn't some sort of damsel in distress to give up hope and expect rescue at the slightest set back. If her father wasn't here right now she would just have to keep looking, that was all. Briefly she missed her friends at the castle. She had to admit she didn't know how much help enchanted dishes, clocks or candlesticks would be in her search but it would be nice to have some familiar company. The Beast would be the most welcome companion, of course but whatever magic in the mirror it was that had brought her here, it was clear it had not included him. Well she might as well try to get some answers that would be helpful so she gave the two a smile and asked, "Could you tell me where I am, please? I arrived without any real warning so I don't know what this place is." |

"It's called Revelry Junction." Cowboy turned on the bench towards the woman and wiped his hands together quickly, rubbing any excess salt from them. "And that's pretty much how we all arrived." His lips thinned into a line so narrow that they almost vanished. "Everyone I've--" He quickly motioned to Alice. "Well, everyone we've met got here through a mirror or something of the sort. No one we've met knows anything about this place either." |

Alice nodded in agreement with Cowboy and then motioned around to their surroundings. "There's rides and these stalls with games and food. There's also a city over to the north. We haven't really been over there yet much." Alice stole a glance towards the dimly lit buildings standing out against the dark sky. "I guess we should go check it out at some point, huh?" Alice always liked exploring, but exploring with friends was even better. |

Belle nodded, "Yes, I got here through a mirror, although it was a magic mirror. I just assumed this was part of it." Still, she liked to think the Beast would have warned her if it was and by the sound of things something much bigger than one misfiring magic mirror was going on here. "My name's Belle," She said, extending a friendly, gloved hand and figuring she might as well make the most of her stay here. These two seemed nice enough, after all. "And if you want to go exploring I'd be happy to come along. I've never been anyplace like this before." |

"We would love an exploring companion, Miss Belle. And it's very nice to meet you." Cowboy stood up and bowed his head a bit, taking her hand and shaking it gently. "I'm Cowboy." He thought about taking his hat off as well, but he never wanted to seem too eager to be a dollface. He was in a gang after all. He was always the sweetest one out of the Warriors. In fact, he was probably the only one with a considerable amount of manners. Rembrandt was okay about it too, but definitely not as up on his smiles and compliments and such as Cowboy was. |
