What is the best protection for pc? (antivirus)?

I know, there isn't best antivirus for pc, but which would be the recommended antivirus for pc?
P.S- and please don't tell me that AVG is the best, I have really bad experience whit it. (and it doesn't mater if its not free)

Oh goodness AVG ...I feel your pain, AVG sucks! I've had my own experience too, but Yahoo! Answers is no place for storytelling.
Antivirus protection is a thing worth talking about, overall the best protection comes from the user about however much he/she feels comfortable with the antivirus.
Best protection however is another subject of the matter, having good protection means everything, behavior blocking, firewall, monitor important system files, good blocking statistics, and of course good removal. Having good security is a thing to get every ounce of juice out of your PC.
Most consumers don't want to pay for security so they go lollygagging for the most popular of the bunch, AVG, but most popular doesn't always mean good, AVG sucks.
