Charlie sighed, breaking their kiss, and shifted to nuzzle his face into her neck. He gave her one light kiss there and then relaxed his grip slightly. He sighed again. Yeah, he could sleep like this.

Ada didn't particularly want to stop, but she let her had fall from his hair when he did. She closed her eyes, but opened them again almost immediately. "I'm not tired anymore," she announced with a sigh.

"Count sheep," he told her with a slightly sarcastic tone. He was pretty sure she just didn't want to stop snogging, but he was pretty sure he would reach his 'point of no return' quite quickly in that case. She was hardly wearing any clothes and it would be so easy and he so wanted it, but he wasn't sure she did, and he wasn't sure now was a good time, even so; their first night on their own. He rubbed his hand up and down her back in a way that he hoped was relaxing.

"I hate sheep," she grumbled, not sounding very serious at all. She'd never actually even seen a sheep in real life, but his suggestion was the opposite of the one she'd been looking for. Which was something more along the lines of 'good, let's keep snogging, then.' If he kept putting on the brakes, she didn't see how they'd ever get to doing anything more. She rested her chin on the top of his head; she knew she'd already annoyed him with the compliments, so she wasn't going to push her luck. "You should tell me a story," she instructed quietly.

Charlie groaned. He didn't think he was very good at telling stories, but he knew he couldn't say that or he would only be assured that he was or that she didn't care if the story was awful. Maybe he should have just kept on with the snogging. He kissed her neck again and tightened his grip once more. "What can I do to get out of doing that?" he asked.

She laughed. "I don't know. Now that I know you want out of it, you'll have to convince me to let it go," she teased. "Kissing my neck again might be a good start," she suggested, grinning.

Okay, she wanted to do this, he wanted to do this, good good fine. "Fine," he said out loud, feigning resignation. He kissed her neck once, twice, then moved and kissed her shoulder. He took his hand that was rubbing her back dipped it down under the hem of her shirt and ran it up her spine.

She laughed again, "Sorry to put you out." She was not. She wanted this. She really, really did. Maybe the timing wasn't exactly perfect, but she was pretty sure she didn't care. She shivered when she felt his hand on her back and shifted, impatient to kiss him again. When her lips found his, she pressed herself even closer if that was even possible. She pulled back slightly after a moment and opened her eyes to look at him in the dark. She paused, her fingertips gently touching his cheek. "Charlie ..." she stopped and blushed, not sure what she wanted to say.

He blinked at her when she stopped, but smiled when she said his name. He leaned back in and recaptured her lips and pulled her on top of him. His body was responding to her closeness in all sorts of ways that were all very typical and he was not tired at all anymore, no he was not. He brought his hand in her hair down to join his other beneath her shirt and wrapped it around her waist while his other continued to explore the skin of her back.

Luckily, she didn't have to say anything. The next second, she was on top of him, kissing him again. She smiled against his lips, running one hand back through his hair while she trailed the other down his torso until she found the hem of his shirt. She sat up a little without breaking the kiss, and pushed his shirt up as far as she could. She sat up and pulled him up with her so she was on his lap, her hands still clutching his shirt. She broke the kiss finally to tug it over his head and toss it onto the floor.

He followed her lips up into a sitting position and let go of her long enough to let her take off his shirt. His hands were back on her in a flash, returning the favor and tugging her top over her head without a second thought. His left arm wrapped back around her and pulled her against him and his mouth found hers again just as quickly. He nearly shuddered at the sensation of skin on skin. His right hand caressed her cheek, then traveled down her neck to her shoulder, and then lower.

She wrapped her legs around him and dragged her fingertips over his chest, down his stomach, and- She jumped at a sudden sharp tapping on the window, breaking the kiss. She ignored it, hoping it would just go away, and the sound stopped. She didn't immediately return to his lips, and instead kissed a trail up from his right shoulder to the corner of his mouth. She dropped her hands to rest on either side of his neck with her thumbs brushing softly against the hollow of his throat. She smiled at him a bit shyly, and had just leaned back in to kiss him when the tapping started again, louder this time.

She turned her head to look at the window. At this point, it was obvious that it was an owl, and that it was not going to go away until it had been allowed to deliver its message. Ada kissed him again, then disentangled her limbs from his and went to open the curtains. She froze; she recognized the owl as her mother's. She slid the window open, untied the letter, and immediately shut the window again. The bird ruffled its feathers, offended at being shut out, but flew away when Ada pulled the curtains closed, too.

She stared at the letter for a moment, then at Charlie, then back at the letter. She didn't want to open it, not right now. That would probably mean having to talk about it. But on the other hand, they'd already been interrupted, and she didn't know how to jump back in. So while she was trying to decide what to do, she stood there, staring at the seal on the letter.

Charlie laughed lightly at Ada's startled jump. He looked over toward the window, but decided to ignore it completely when Ada's lips returned to his skin. He smiled and kept his hands busy instead. The tapping continued and she gave him a false start on a kiss, but then completed it anyway. Good; she had decided to ignore it, too.

Except that she hadn't at all- she got up before he could really protest and he was sure he was in actual pain at the loss of her contact. "Ada..." he complained with a groan as he fell back into the mattress. The light from the night (the city? the moon? possibly both?) shown through the window when she opened the curtains and he couldn't help turning his head to stare at her. He hadn't really had time for that earlier and he was actually quite happy to have it now, he found.

The she closed the curtains and his eyes had to readjust and he sat up to try and see her better. She didn't really seem to be reacting at all. She was staring at the letter. Charlie thought that didn't really bode well, but he also thought whatever it was could probably wait until morning, right? Well, she already wasn't opening it, so...that made it seem even more likely that whatever it was, it could wait.

He reached a hand out to her. "Come back to bed," he requested, entirely much too much turned on to even be slightly embarrassed in asking.

She looked back at him and smiled when he asked her to come back to bed. She had a pretty good idea of what her parents wanted. She didn't want to deal with it at all, but especially not right now. She wasn't going to write back this late at night anyway, so there was no point in reading it yet. After a moment's hesitation, she conceded and dropped the letter on the desk.

She stood at the foot of the bed, backlit by the tiny bit of light that the curtains couldn't keep out. She untied her shorts and tugged them down, letting them fall to the floor. And then she was standing in front of him in nothing but her pants. And even though she wasn't sure he could see her, she smiled because it was possibly the bravest she'd ever been.

Message received. Charlie grinned back at her and basically flew down to the foot of the bed. He gathered her in his arms and fell back into the bed. It felt like just like falling to the ground beneath Stonehenge, only mostly naked and therefore even better. He pressed her into the mattress as he kissed her, and worked on fixing the 'mostly' part.

He peaked one eye open. It was definitely morning, but he had no idea what time. He blinked both eyes open and looked around as his eyes adjusted. He saw the pictures on the wall and suddenly remembered where he was and how they'd set everything up yesterday and he smiled. Then he remembered last night and sat up in a mild panic, because something was missing. He was alone in the bed. With only a sheet. He looked over the side and was greeted by the sight of a massive pile of bedspread and Ada all tangled up inside it. He couldn't help laughing. Still, it was kind of adorable and he gathered the sheet around him and carefully slid off the bed to lay down beside her.

Ada wasn't a light sleeper. It would have been difficult to find herself on the floor every morning if falling out of bed woke her up. She didn't wake up when Charlie laughed, or when he joined her on the floor. And she probably wouldn't have woken up until much later (she was not a morning person) except that she could feel him looking at her. She opened her eyes and looked mildly alarmed for a moment until she realized where she was. She closed her eyes again and smiled softly. "Morning, Charlie," she mumbled sleepily. She tried to move closer to him, but found that she couldn't. "I think I'm stuck," she added, still half-asleep.

"You've got the whole bedspread all around you like some sort of blanket puzzle. I think you're beyond help," he was only half teasing. "I can't even see an edge."

She opened her eyes again, sat up as much as she could, and laughed. She struggled to free an arm from the blanket cocoon and, when she succeeded, pushed her hair out of her face. She knew it was probably a mess; it usually was when she woke up, and the previous night's activities could only have made it worse. She flopped back down, still laughing a little, and threw her arm over her face. "I'm a hot mess," she declared.

He laughed a little at her struggle. He never doubted she was a wild sleeper, but he hadn't thought it would be this funny. He shook his head at her words and snuggled up to her and kissed her cheek. "It's quite charming," he promised

She grinned at him and shrugged, "What can I say? I aim to please." She curled up against him and kissed his collarbone lightly. "Sorry I stole all the covers, though."
