After so long being on both local headphones forums, I finally went to Jaben's today. And I hit the jackpot while at it, today is the arrival date of MylarThree, that's shows how much people was crowding the shop when I reached around 7+pm. And woah, I saw the box of MylarThree is like only half filled when I first saw it, and getting lesser by the minutes (or seconds lol?). Well I was given the warm welcome, with some humour/tease from Uncle Wilson, and went to audition the MylarThree and MylarTwo. *This is not a proper review, just based on a few songs and my personal preference and straight out of the box condition.* Some songs tried when playing (Mixture of slow, normal, fast pace songs, 192k-320k bitrate.) Remioromen - Sangatsu Kokonoka (Live) Remioromen - Beer To Pudding Rainbow - Stargazer Ozzy Osbourne - Mr Crowley (Live) Sex Machineguns - Japan (Live) Koda Kumi - Candle Light MylarThree: Best thing is the bass is good, tight. But it shows its weakness when playing fast heavy metal songs. It feels like it lacks the engaging or synergy, like its not fast enough for the song. But overall it is a good all round earphones at this price, certainly no complains from me. MylarTwo: The first song I played while listening to this earphones was Sex Machineguns - Japan (Live), very bad impression. Because the song was a live track, and was quite bass heavy, with the extended bass of MylarTwo, the bass sound bloated or muddy, very significant, and less clarity in compared to MylarThree, so I changed to a slower rock song, the Remioromen live songs, it sounded ok. After a few songs, don't really like MylarTwo, and my mind is set on the MylarThree without hesitation. Overall I think this would suit those songs that are not bass heavy tracks or live version rock/metal songs, since live version recording quality would be slightly lousier than studio recording. But for normal rock or studio songs, it really adds an extra punch of bass. A couple of pictures of the MylarThree, pardon for the bad quality of the 2nd picture, cause I do not have a micro lens, I can't shoot that near, so I have the crop the picture by 50%. All shots was quickie few minutes job. The box and casing of MylarThree ![]() CrossRoads MylarThree ![]() Why there's "The" Blue Bear thingy??? If those people that are hanging around 8pm+ at Jaben should know. If I remember correctly, Uncle Jaben wanted to give a lady a bear that came with the MylarThree, but she wanted "The" Blue Bear, but she can't convince Uncle Wilson to give her even with a few tries, each tries ensure some laugh from people in the shop. So what's "The" Blue Bear gonna do with me? My friend and I left Jaben around 9pm do have dinner, while at the food court, I took out my MylarThree and found out I do not have the 2 other sizes of the flange, so I called up Uncle Wilson whether the shop is still open for me to collect the 2 other sizes of the flange. Then at the moment I also wanted to buy another set of MylarThree for my gf as a surprise gift. So when I reach Jaben again, no one is in, so I guess Uncle and David is having dinner, and I called Uncle again, he told me sleeve is on the door handle, but I also ask him what time will he be coming back to the shop, as I wanted to get another set. He told me in a few minutes time, in the end he came late, so he wanted to make it up to me, and I jokingly tell me I want "The" Blue Bear, cause it's the topic of the day for those that are around at that time, and uncle gave it to me even I said it was jokingly tone, but anyways its for my gf, so thanks Uncle Wilson again! "The" Blue Bear with my player and MylarThree ![]() "The" Blue Bear and Bearnett ![]() Bearnett upclose. ![]() By the way, there's a small hole at the back of "The" Blue Bear, but I will ask my gf to sew it up when I gave it to her! Thanks to Uncle again for the warm welcome + fun + gifts today! Hope you enjoy your meet this weekend, and I will be back next Friday for the party! *Sorry if this post is too long or in bad English, typing in tired mode + 4am in the morning.* |

To this day, I don't understand why people insist on auditing hifi equipment. Can someone please tell me if there is an ISO process for this audit? Who pays the fee for the audit? The auditor or the auditee? If it's not ISO, then what's the certification for the audit? |

I guess he means "audition". Maybe in his excitment to share his impressions, he mispelled it

Actually I don't think it is a spelling mistake. For some reason audit has somehow become the commonly used term for audition out of sheer laziness or maybe because it got misspelled some time ago and has not been corrected since. Frankly I think audit should not be the de facto term for audition mainly because the two words on their own have totally different meanings.

He means auditing and attaining ISO certification. In other words, QC pass and the works. He's not refering to audition. |

Chris' posts seem to be a lil' curt lately; I wonder why? What has audit got to with headphones? Does it say audit in the TS's post? And what does ISO got to do with anything? I'm confused... The red case is pretty sweet. I wonder if the Mylar2's got a different case? I wonder if any of these cases are for sale separately? I wonder if I should get one to replace my um1's bulky case? I wonder if I should leave now or I'll be late for my appointment? |

Heheh... Got an extra case for my um1s when I came down together for the mylar3s. The va-va-voom red case is so much sexier than the um1 case. Uncle was so nice to give a pair of those little bears to my girlfriend. Sya: no sarcasm intended. I was just confused why audit came into a thread about mylar3s. I'm in the audit line of work.

Prepare to fire the ion cannon I have a suspicion that there is no solution except for revolution to bring absolution and redemption to our provocation. Let there be advocation to the presumption that the salutation of the word 'audition' should not suffer such degradation. At this junction, we need education to stop the addiction. We know there is an attraction to shorten the function, but this will lead to equivocation and bring ill feelings to our congregation. |

You remind me of V's manifesto to Evey Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V. – V's introduction to Evey (Courtesy of Wikipedia) |
