Today, in the early morning, i woke up and tried my new triple flange. After enjoying my music for a while, i decided to take it out and maybe change it to a bi flange. Next thing i know after taking it out, the tri flange got STUCK in my ear. Yup, stuck in my ear!

:help: Haha. called uncle wilson immediately, and he asked me to get down to his shop and thanks to him, it got removed and everything's back to normal! haha. reason is due to the lotion i rubbed on it, and it didnt get washed off well. yup.

Haha. Thanks again to uncle wilson for helping me out of such a sticky situation! ;)

haha. yup. it was inside throughout the WHOLE TIME when i was travelling to find uncle wilson. didnt cover it. lol, think i looked very weird then.

and at that time, the tri flange was a bit too big for me when i used it, that's why i wanted to change to bi flange. so it hurt for the whole time it was in there. lol. so relieved it's all over.

Wow, you travelled all the way to Jaben with a triple flange stuck in your ear!!! That's really something.

I do often get the bi flanges stuck inside my ear when removing the mylarones from my ears. Just have to reach in and try to grip a corner of it and pull it out.

The dangers of IEM part 1. :P

So was it due to the fact that the lotion somehow made the triflange stick to the ear? Or that the triflange is big and got stuck?

it's the lotion at the flange, in the hole of the flange that caused it. it made it very slippery, so it slipped out and got left behind in the ear. lol.

Some tips from Uncle Wilson:
- Make sure there is no lotion left in the tube of the tri-flanges.
- Use a toothpick/cotton bud to remove the excessive oils.

I think most of the IEMs user encounter such problem before. Just make sure the tube is clean.

serious? you changed it for four times?! wow.

but i currently think the normal sleeve is kinda comfortable and got decent isolation too. are the tri flange much better, or should i stay with my normal sleeves?

try it for yourself. some would say the flanges are better than the complys, others would say otherwise.

triflange do not provide the comfort level as shure grey soft flex sleeves. If you can get decent isolation with any shure grey soft flex sleeves, stick with it

In my opinion:
Triflange/biflange, more isolation, less comfort level
grey soft flex sleeves, slightly less isolation but much more confort

For me, its the other way round. I love modded biflanges for the isolation and comfort, but can't stand shure soft-flexes. I'm waiting to see if the new olives willl be any better.
