Just heard these the other day, and I have to say I'm a convert! The signature of the M1, but oh so much richer and fuller sounding, even without an amp. The only issue I have is of the fit and maybe the difficulty recognising L/R sides, but I can easily see these replacing my M1s.

p.s. Can we just refer to these as M1 and M3 instead of typing the full name? Much easier...

I like how the word "Mylar" sounds. :P Besides, the M3 may be mistaken for a short form for the (mission) M33i (wonder where they are sold in Singapore, but that's beside the point).

Seriously though, I found the MylarThrees rather nice, in terms of details. It definitely beats the EP630 by miles. It sounds a lot smoother as well, and is not as distant and "hollow" as the MylarOnes (even well burnt in ones). Sadly though, the red and blue colour coding is gone, and the "L" and "R" is so small that I didn't notice it until slightly later. To me, the bass is much more "present" than in the MylarOne.

Quick question here, do you think I would like it for listening to Rock/Metal music?

Will only need this for portable usage.

Currently using Grado SR80/Koss KSC75 both amp with PA2v2 for portable usage.

Head down to Jaben to give it a listen.

By the way. I find that using different sizes of ear sleeves produce different sound. Using large ear sleeves, the bass is too bloated. Using a small ear sleeves, the bass is tone down to a enjoyable level.

Yes indeed. Even on the same sleeves the earphones can sound different. When i first insert my UM1s with orange complys, the sound is 'veiled' with lots of mids and little treble. After re-insertion, the treble improves alot and the mids are toned down.

Putting Shure flex sleeves on the UM1s give them a totally different sound. Less mids and lots of highs while the comply's are rich in mids and not so much highs.

Sorry for Off-Topic-ing! :D

I listen exclusively to metal, like Dragonforce (No I don't care if you don't like it), Falconer, etc and I found the Super.Fi 3 to sound amazingly well, as well as the Super.Fi 5. But after listening to the Mylar3, I believe it's a superb compromise between comfort and sound quality.

I tried some ogg tracks with A Twist in the Myth, with the guitar heavy "Another Stranger Me" and it sounded great on the demo Mylar3 set. Also tried Falconer's vocal heavy metal music and it sounded really good without stressing the mids.

Overall? If you can live with the horrible comfort of the Super.Fi 5/10 go for that. If you want something small and light, plus comfortable, the Mylar3s are probably the best choice for metal music.

Hope that helped!

The actual product for the Mylar-one 3 will be full black with red/blue rings(instead of the silver one you see on the demo unit) for easy identification.

LOL on the Dragonforce part.
I don't hate or like alot, prefers their ballads song more like Dawn Over A New World, Starfire, just find their fast songs are too repetitive.

Yea it help, I think it should be a good combination for the music I listen on the go.
And the budget is will in for what i will spend on IEM, since i'm more of a headphones person, so just want to try out for regular usage how IEM will be, without spending big money.

Thanks again.

Its good news that the color coding will be retained on the final product. I agree with aaron that the mylar3 is an improvement over the mylar1 in the sense that the 'distance' that the mylar1 have is addressed by the fuller sound but I still find the overall tone to have that rawness of the mylar1 compared to the smooth sounds of the um1s.

Reason is simple. Uncle do not wish to give you hope and later if the shipment is delayed, you are disappointed. And do take note that Uncle is leaving Singapore for headfi meet next week so even if the stock is in, there will be no one in the shop to sell it to you.

Auditioned it yesterday on a Friday and the shop was surprisingly empty :o I guess I'm too used to the overly clean and sterile response of my ck-7 but that set had some really deep and powerful bass :o It did seem to mask the highs a little for me but I like the way the mids and lows sounded :D

Ok. I'm posting again. :)

I've heard the mylar3, and I can say it's a significant improvment from the mylar one in terms of treble and mid energy. However it still has the bloated bass of the mylar1. For that price difference though, it's great. Still contemplating if I should pre-order one. Damn you HpH!

Also, I had the honour of trying out the... MYLAR 2s!!!
They're, as wilson simply puts it, is the eb equivalant of the mylar 3s. Bassheads rejoice. Also the build is slightly better and "shinier" You'll know what I mean when you see it.

Arh crap.. *go up to my mum and begs for more cash* :D

To those who have listened: Hows the bass? Improvement over the mylarones? I'm a fan of deep, punchy bass, are the mylartwos better in comparison to the mylarthrees in terms of bass?

Hi,

I notice nobody seem to ask this so I am wondering does the nos 1 , 2 and 3 have
any reference to the nos of drivers of the said iem since the mylar3 is comparable
to the triple-fi 10 pro.

No, they are all using dynamic drivers where its more of tweaking and etc instead of adding more chunk inside.

Looking at the rate at which these have been flying(literally) off the shelves since they arrived yesterday, I gave them another quick listen today, fumbled around with it abit more to test for the notorious Mylar 1 build issues, noticed none, and grabbed a buncha them immediately :D...

IMO, these are the best sounding buds I've come across(till this day that is) at this price range. I would'nt go so far as to compare them with TF10P, but not only is it is really very rich sounding, the bass and treble extends very well for a pair of dynamic "canal" buds and also offer abit of isolation. For this price, these are my perfect earphones for my "trashing" purposes :D while still giving decent isolation and good SQ.

If you got something higher tier than these, they make perfect backups. If you are still struggling with stock buds, these would make the perfect entry level buds. These also make the perfect gift for friends if you owe them a debt, and thats the reason I got a couple of them !

BTW, I believe hes down to the last 1/4 of the current batch, so if your planning to get one, please be quick!

these IEMs look interesting , regardless of whether they can really compete with the triple fi 10, considering that the triple fi cost like 7 times the price , if they can manage to beat the 200$ range of IEMs it'd be something already :)

I'm still having doubts now because I'm not used to so much bass after using the ck-7's fo so long. Granted the 3's have a much more forward and bass biased signature that makes it great for rock (soft and hard :D) I still kinda prefer the cleaner signature of the 7's since i listen to mainly soundtracks and intrumentals... But for roughly 2/3 the price of the ck-7s it really is worth it...

He is probably very busy at the moment. After all, with so many people rushing to buy the mylar3, I don't think he is able to sit in front of the pc and reply emails.

He is very busy at the moment. He is packing his bag, goods for the HeadFest 2007 and running the shop at the same time. Give him a little more time to response to your email.

By the way, can moderators or administrator merge MylarThree threads together? I think there is 2 similar threads floating around. ;)
