I guess many will be interested on how these headphones sounds, so I would like to write out a mini impression on them. Those who have also tried them out, do post your views too. BeyerDynamic DT48 - Closed-in Soundstage. - Doesn't have BeyerDynamic's Premiumline sound signature. - Very similar to er4p/s sound signature. - Another clamshell but things will probably work out better after a few times of usage. BeyerDynamic DT150 - A highly detail closed-back headphones. - Does not have BeyerDynamic's Premiumline sound signature. - Unlike any other closed-back headphones. - Great comfort. BeyerDynamic DT250-80 - Very comfortable build (similar to Sony MDR-7506) - Doesn't have BeyerDynamic's Premiumline sound signature. - Similar Bass as UE Super.Fi5EB but not as boomy and diffused in fields. - Mild hump in Mid Bass giving impression of punchy bass. - Highs are rather extensive. - Rich mids (similar to Westone UM2) |

You will need to listen and compare for an effective answer to your question.
Anyway, let me draw you some ideas about the difference. The Beyerdynamic Monitors are of a darker signature like those in the recording studios. There will be noticable difference in the resolution and the quality of the sound imaging. The Beyerdynamic Monitors are also less diffused in fields (more closed-in) than the Premiumline which makes analytical listening much easier. Personally, I think the Beyerdynamic Monitors are suitable to for playback as well. In fact, I prefered them especially. |

So basically that means the monitors sound like closed cans, and the premiumline ones sound like open cans??? I do find I can hear more details in closed cans. |

I think I understand from your discription. I think you are somewhat right from your comparision made between the Monitors and PremiumLine. Anyway, do have a listen on your own to compare the differences. Maybe you could draw more ideas or comparisons from your own experience? Have fun! |
