Rightly said...MS-1 indeed is a tweaked SR80... however contrary to what most believe, i find the SR80 highs not as shrill and the bass is good enough for me... i wonder how much better is the MS-1 in term of details & bass extension as compared to SR80?? :P

awesome bang for the buck coz price difference between MS-1 & SR225 is huge.  whereas MS-2/SR325 & MS-Pro/RS1 about same price.  thus MS-1 will still be the most important can for Alessandro, in terms of value for money.

MS1 and 225?
Nope, sorry, I think you are a little mixed up here.
The MS1 is a refurbished SR80. When I say reburbished, I mean that Grado is tweaking the SR80 drivers for Alesandro.

dunno if there's official word on this. coz the specs on MS1/SR225 are similar. or maybe they're all different from ground up. too many alleged comparisons, depending who you heard/read it from, some say it's a tweeked SR80, some SR125 & some SR225.

"Grado also produces three models of headphones for the Pennsylvania-based Alessandro High-End Products company; the Alessandro Music Series One, Two, and Pro. These are built from the ground up and are not based on any existing model Grado produces at the moment."

It also seems that the MS2 is compared to the SR325i and the MS-pro to the RS1. It's quite much a matter of aesthetics, given that they look almost similar.

The reviewer seems to be saying that there are slight sonic differences between the RS1 and MS-pro.

you are right about the comparisons. look at the specs carefully on the 2 official websites. you will notice the similar specs of RS1/MS-Pro, SR325/MS-2 & lastly SR225/MS-1.
