It'll be great, cause i won't have to run around singapore searching high and low for them... [/QUOTE] Hmm. You don't really have to run around S'pore to look for this. Although I got mine (white) from SE, you can go to Harvey Norman, which is pretty ubiquitous. They go for just a little under $90. |

No idea, I haven't tried them. But i read some reviews on audiocubes and people were saying that its good. I take that with a pinch and a half of salt. But even if it were to sound bad, the looks make up for it. And if it were to sound good, then viola! You've just gotten yourself one of the hippest pair of retro cans that not only looks good but sounds good. Another ATH-ES7 contender i suppose? And for such a low price!

Moderatus Supremus - Da Big Stick
|
Some brief impressions here: http://z10.invisionfree.com/headphonehaven...p?showtopic=295 IMHO, it doesn't even come close to the sound of the ES7. The ES7 has tighter, cleaner and punchier bass, with great highs and nice mids. The HTX7 sounded a bit hollow, but I've heard worse from headphones in its price range. It's decent for the price. Do note, however, the ES7 does cost more than double of the HTX7

for me the htx7 seems to be both bassy and bright. the bass is there but unlike the punch of ms1. the brightness makes instruments quite appealing but it seems to scuk the vocal, making it sound harsh at times. the sensation of sensual warm vocals found on my ms1 will be missing here. it'll be fine listening to the htx7 from a neutral point of view, but if you come directly from a ms1, then the presence and dynamics of rock, pop, jazz music will be missed. however i'd marginally prefer htx7 to ms1 in the case of classical music when i want to relax and opt for a more laid back sound, having the feel of sitting in the concert hall (is this what you call soundstage?). ms1 will put me in the midst of it, perhaps right on the stage, and this will really set me pumping. the presence as what i'd say. sorry for using a twice as expensive ms1 as reference since it's my only other set of full headphones. just a brief impression. will post again when i compare the cans close together. |

Yes, you are right about the term soundstage, also known as Ambience in acoustic terms. Generally people will related : - Studio (Dark) - Theatre (Fairly Dark) - Large-sized Open Theatre (Airy) So what is termed 'Dark'? Just related this term to the feeling you have when you step into a recording room and the doors are shut. You will hear close to nothing until something is played. You will be able to observe the middle level of sustain and decay of notes from this signature. Dark is also associated with isolation. Airy is termed the opposite of Dark.
