Or any chance know where to get review for T25?

A couple of questions first.

1. Do you have a hearing problem?
If yes, then you don't need earphones. If no, then you should listen to the TC20 and TC25 for yourself and decide.

2. Do you have a spelling problem?
If yes, then there's a nifty function called a spell-checker. If no, then 'haf' is spelled 'have'

3. Do you have a brain?
If yes, then you don't need recommendations. If no, then I would recommend the UM2. It's much better than the TC20. If you don't buy the UM2, then you are not listening to my recommendation, which makes your question asking for recommendations moot.

4. Are you colour-blind?
If yes, then I apologise for your disability. If no, then you should try going down to Jaben and seeing for yourself what colours are available.

yeah, if you are buying the UM2, I would say you save alot of the agony between the T20 & T25 right away!

if you have the wallet deep enough, than why not right?

alright, NCMK has the T25 and has listened to T20 before. Why not give him a PM to ask?

Okay... I have the T25 and TC20 too...

Now, all I can tell you is these. If you are more into bass, go for T25.

If you are more for the mids and highs, go for TC20, it has a rather decent deep bass too. But TC20 will sound much better with an amp.

Or... I hope you have a good source.

I wouldn't recommend you to go for the MO from HWZ. I don't think it's with warranty.

Yeah the MO from HWZ is not under any warranty...However,if you are planning on changing earphones after a short while it's just fine.I believe you wouldn't get stuck on a TC20 for more than a year. :)

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure some people won't care about earphones being spoilt.Once it's spoil some people might just decide to go for better quality ones, higher ends one I mean.I don't mean that the TC20 is not good but there's many better ones out there isn't it?Well, who knows?By the time the TC20 is spoilt that person might already have a new target on his/her mind already.

But still, there are still people who thinks differently.Well, different people have different ways of seeing things,so it's up to lawrence90 to decide what to do.Haha...if he wants to MO from HWZ we can't stop him isn't it?What I mean is,if he's planning on long-term use,get it from Jaben. If not, just go get it his own way.

have you heard of people who changed from UM1/2 to TC20?

I've heard about people mentioning TC20 being on par or even beating with UM1/2 amped but I believe they still held on to their UM1/2?

Maybe it's due to the effects the TC20 gives. Personally I prefer the UM1 amped over the TC20. Might be due to the fact that I'm not that into heavy bass.

I've heard of someone having 3 pairs go dead on one side. I think he said something about him pressing the bud in too much that caused it. I myself had one side having little lows and mids. My second pair seems fine so far about 2 weeks or so old. Time will tell how reliable these buds are.

The UM2 will still remain as my main everyday-commuting-use earphones. I must admit that the TC20 has punchy resonant bass that could surpass most sub $100 earphones. As far as I can tell, it sounds more engaging than my old pair of Sony Ex71 as well. However, I'm not about to give up my UM2. I like how the UM2s have better instrument separation, clarity and sparkle........... something that the TC20 falls short of. BTW, I don't use amps at all and I got the TC20 from the HWZ MO. Well, I don't really care if it expires cos I've quite a few pair of backup iems :P

the TC20 has well known quality control probkems for this batch. so for the price difference, you get insured against defects, what happens if one of you guys bought the TC20, and found it dead out of the box?

but then again, its a calculated risk, so its up to you, but for the rather small amount as compared to other headphones and IEM's some people may find it a bargain.

i myself am NOT going to get anything WITHOUT warranty ever since my misadventure last night with the LDM+

i think you have to be bitten before you realise just how important warranty is, that was my oversight, my fc-7 and k81 worked so well.....too well in fact...... :(

I've actually given up the warranty on my k81 one month after I bought it for the sake of a recable.

I'm also thinking of selling my um1 and using a TC20 for portable use. Wise move?

maybe for more established brands with reknown quality, it may be wise, but for stuff like the OVC and LDM+, i dont think so....

to be honest, i thought the OVC TC20 sounded better than the UM1 amped or unamped :D

I think in audio stuff, move to the stuff that makes your ear feel better is a wise move.
Don't think about the brand, just think about the sound quality (and price of course).

As long as you happy with OVC and prefer it than UM1, I think move to OVC is a wise move.

I think the OVC TC20 does beat a lot of earphones hands down up to the $200 range.

You just have to take really good care of it as the build and the drivers are quite delicate.

I'm mostly concerned with the quality issues with TC20.
I'm considering the switch as I really can't stand the lack of highs in the um1. But I've just found an IC that brings out the highs to make it sound rather decent, so dunno what to do now. Decisions, decisions...

norseman, I am sure if you bought yours locally(not from those MOs) it would come with some sort of warranty which replaces the set at no charge if it does turn out to be a manufacturing defect. Of course if you are planning to go with the MOs, then it depends on whether your more concerned with saving that few bucks, or more concerned about it failing on you and leaving you with a dead set which you can do nothing about.

Sure some people do not see the value in the things that they have purchased and will go looking for something "newer and better" in no time. I for that matter just do not understand why such people with a penchant for such hype and deep pockets would settle for something thats a bit cheaper, but does not come with any form of warranty. Its ironic how one could appreciate the value in saving that few bucks but not that in the value of the product? :seestars:

It sorta reminds me of the aunties who would haggle for that few cents when marketing, but would gladly splurge without second thoughts on jewelery several hundred times the price of those vegetables.

That would really depend on the context, especially if the person were a student on a budget. :P

Seriously though, given the problematic batch of TC20s, I would recommend buying from a local dealer, (ie. Jaben) to avoid problems when the drivers go dead.

 I am not trying to start an argument here, but considering how students nowdays wear hundred dollar jeans, watch $9.50 movies, use several hundred dollar handphones, walk in hundred dollar shoes, go clubbing etc, etc, I am not sure what kind of context we are living in here.

Levis, Nokia, Erricsson, Nike, Addidas, MOS, etc, these were rare terms in my teenage days, and that wasn't exactly too long ago :P I am very sure there are exceptions, but I was specifically referring to those people whom Hitsugaya mentioned "will be looking for something better in no time".

To be honest fonglav, i dont see how many teenagers can do that. unless their parents are bankrolling them.

I know mine isn't, i get everything of LUXURY myself. and i dont think many parents would be willing to buy their kids 1K headphones. ;)

Point taken. :D

Though I do pay for most of these "luxury" stuff, I do appreciate the fact that I'm probably more well-off than the student of 20, 30 years ago, as is most students are now.
