I suspect the Shure SE310 likely to use dynamic drivers because of the back port hole. For current Shure users, no worries about the new Waterproof foam tips. Even Westone and Etymotic users can have a try on those.

I was just wondering on this "port" hole, wouldnt it lower isolation? Shure sure is getting a little too mainstream... |

No really though. Even Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5EB uses 2 back port holes although the UE Super.fis didn't proof the capability of other earphones in isolation. These port holes were meant for dynamic drivers to 'breathe' while vibrating. If without, it will end up as a air-lock. I 'think' that the 310 might be able to go real low and deep in terms of bass. Probably the IEM which will reproduce the existence of Resonance in the music. I think we shall see how our own reviews will go.

In case some of you havent read, According to sugerfried(shure rep) over at headfi, apparently the new lineup all sport new drivers, aka the e500 drivers. In short, the SE530=E500, while the other models are more probably driver upgrades from the "older" counterparts, tho he dint mention naything about the tuneports. There is also a difference in the accompanied accessories. Also, all the newer models have an 18" cable with a 3' extension as per e500, so no hope for a single straightforward/light cable for us. All current models would run concurrently and none would be phased out, but I believe sales for the non-new lineup will be a little slower, unless the new ones do not sound on par that is...Thus, do not expect for a sale for the non-new models as they will still be readily available. I guess something like what happened to the e5c after e500 came out. IMHO, the new design is cashing in on the good ergonomic fit of the e500 that has received much positive opinions. Their new design and colour on the other hand, just seem a large step back from the e4/e500s. We need more photos!!! |

The SE530 really looks like the E500. Other than that, the designs seem to be, erm, lousier than that of the E series. The fit should have probably improved though. |

the SE530 = e500, all the same. IIRC, SE530 will be totally the same as the e500 w/o the PTH device, but there is still the connection point. |

check head-fi.org for a tiny review of the new se line by tyll (in the Member of the Trade Sponsored Threads Forum) i'm wondering if the e4 for usd 175,- online at the moment might be a much better deal then paying usd 349,- for the se410 or usd 249,- for the se310... |

For those who haven't seen that thread, here's a link to it (scroll to post number 31): 1st listen to new Shure SE series The 310's and 210's are already listed as being in stock at both Headroom and earphonesolutions.com; does anyone know if Jaben has an ETA on these? I tried emailing but didn't get a reply... |

Consider that the SE310 is the new version of the E4, and that 249 is the MSRP, not the street price (175 is the E4's street price). It could possibly be a good deal. I don't know if Jaben gets stocks from Ban Leong (Shure's local distributor), but at the IT show, the sales people mentioned the olive foamies were coming in end of April, so... |

In my opinion, the new lineup looks quite ugly, maybe it would look better on peoples ears, but i prefer the old line-up.. always thought they look good. And I recently noticed that many shops at Funan and SLS now posses the OLD lineup of shures.. haha most probably they din know about the new lineup and bought the old lineup from shures? |

Haha. personally i thought it's a little ugly too. especially the logo at protruding end.. so tacky. anyway, it doesn't really matter whether they stock in the older models right? I mean, these will be on sale concurrently (thought i read it in one of the earlier replies in this thread) anyone any idea how these will be priced? if i am not mistaken, i recall reading in head-fi some time back that these will be cheaper...

Around the same price? the drivers are different so maybe a little more expensive for the new lineup? yea i think se210 and the se530 looks nice only. They should give them names.. Rose, Mary, Thomas would be easier to remember then 310, 420, so on haha.. |

Haha... if the companies starts naming their product that way, we'll start having names like Thomas the second etc... Nah. I'll stick with the numbers. But for a moment i was wondering why the 4 and 5 series are not followed by with 10... hmmmmmm
