I think it might be time to get custom soon.. though I would prefer to save enough for a sensaphonic, but my ear canals are hurting me much with some of the complys! and im not getting enough fit nor isolation (cos I have miniature ear canal) Well, either Im changing to custom UM56, or im switching to Headphones, in which DT770 topped my fav list (shake head) when will the spending stops?? lols |

Originally I did think of getting the standard ear molds for the UM1s (which is the UM56s) but then I saw some of the samples Uncle Wilson showed me and also recalled the pictures I saw in some forums and I thought might as well get a better fit since the full shell can only be worn one way and because it comes all the way out to the outer ear will be easier to remove too. Anyway, like I said it sounds fantastic with the clarity going up another notch compared to the modded biflanges and the complys I had been using

Im afraid forum rules states that we should not do any kind of price discussions. Anyways, Westone has a RRP of these at USD$199 excluding impressions, but Im sure if you approach any of the authorized dealers, they could be obtained quite abit cheaper...Do check out with Jaben as they do a pretty good impression and bundles it together with the moulds... |

My custom earmoulds for my er4B from Timbuktu have just arrived !![]() Yes, I did my ear impressions at an uncertified audiologist (Jaben) again, I just don't understand why some people wanna whine about having to go to a certified audiologist. I made so many impressions with them and have never been disappointed once. In fact as many of you guys already know, I left the fate of my custom IEMs in their hands and I'm not talking about the odd one or two customs. ![]() I am so happy with the quality of their impressions and their service that I would gladly make my ear impressions for ALL my future Custom IEMs with them. Thanks Uncle Wilson for the greatest of service and hospitality. |

Generally the "UM56" should be able to fit both the Westones and Shures. For Etys and UE, the earmoulds that you make cannot be used with other brands. |

I made the mistake of letting little staving children in upper mongolia make my first pair. Which promptly shrunk due to... cold weather, small fingers, high altitude, or all of the above. I decided my second set should be made somewhere closer to the equator so that it would not shrink. I figured it also needed to be bigger, so I got my friend Marina from Samoa to make a new pair for me. ![]() It hurts to put them in now, since it's such a superb fit, but I've always preferred it to be tight.

I've been on Mars the last couple of months and thus hadn't seen anything about the Westone 3 yet, but hope that Westone will wisely keep the same nozzle diameter for the '3' so that our molds can be used. |

I think the build will be pretty much the same as the um2, the prototypes were made using the um2 shells. Therefore, the nozzle size should be pretty much the same, the only change will probably be the outer shell. |
