Qn: Anyone knows where I can get headphone bags? Like those for Senheissers?

It's due to the fact that I'm always on the move and want to bring my headphones with me. It's worrying to get it scratched or anything like that when I put them into my bag. A leather case that's similar to the Senheissers bag would be good.

Hmmm. Box-like ones? Or those flimsy like ones? Cause I do believe that compactness is an issue too. Let me think. It has to be soft on the inside too. I saw a couple of nice bags that are big enough but it's soft to touch on the outside and it's like sandpaper on the inside.

Keep it on your head. I know you want people to see that you're wearing your lovely white AKG701. :k701smile:

The Beyer bags are good, but does not fit my W100s.

Does anyone have a foam cutter for curved shapes? If yes, then we may have a solution.

If your budget allows, buy a Aluminium carry case. I will teach you how to make it all terrain-proof. :P

But seriously, it's quite hard to look for something that really offers great protection for your AKG k701 portable use. Probably abrasion-free bags would be good enough (soft bag).

cmk, I afraid those foams you seen on the Beyerdynamics bag had the 'foam' formed on a template. Heat strips are also used to trim those foams. If you're are talking about the foams in Alessandro Grado boxes, it's much easier to fabricate. :)
If impressing/being impressed is how it gets you around, forget it. It is not gonna happen.

I know its on a template (mold) as I'm in the mold release business. What I'm referring to is those foam cutters which use heat to cut through the foam, kind of like a soldering iron for foam.

Hi Ballack,
I notice you have the AKG701 and presume you are thinking of carrying this .
I have a Grado RS1 which is about the same size and I use one of those small computer bags that fits a Sony Vaio when I travel. As computer bags have paddings, it is quite good protection for your headphone and other accessories. The computer bag also have various compartments/pockets that can be used to carry your source, headphone amp and IC. Hope that helps...
Source: AZUR 640C; Sony SACD XE670; iPod Video 30G (GMod)
Amps: Grado RA1; iCute; Headroom Supreme; LD2+, LDM+, Xin Supermacro IV, Storm 4B, XiangSheng 708B; Xin Reference (coming soon)
DAC: Lite DAC with AD1853; Firestone Spitfire
Cables: Zu RCA IC; Grado Signature IC; DIY Braided silver XLR->RCA; QED Qunex optical
Headphones: Grado RS1; Senn650 with Zu Mobius; Senn600/i Cardas; AKG701; Bose QC2; UM2; ER4S/ UM34, E500PTH/UM56

good point. but it's more of a soft bag that i'm aiming for, so as to avoid scratching it when i put them in my backpack. probably i'll check out quiksilver and see how those look like.

I wonder how long you intend to bring the 701 out. It's gonna be cumbersome. I foresee that after sometime, you'll just revert to some easier to carry headphone.

Just like to know is there any portable headphone that can provide good sound isolation beside the HD280Pro.

Thanks.

You might want to try your luck here

Anyway, I'd recommend any close can that is supra-aural, and the Panasonic HTX-7 would fit your bill nicely.

I'm also using the eagle creek half cube.
It can fits Grado cans, at least for SR series, not sure for RS series though.

But definitely can't fit Sennheiser HD580/600/650 or AT A900, cause I have a HD580 and A900, the bowl is bulging the default shape of the cube.

i'm using a zip up dvd case with the sleeves/sleeve holders removed... you may need to stick extra cardboard on the zipper side to make it more stiffer

I'm looking for one that preferably has some 'thickness' to it cos my MS2 comes with the big bowl pads (or whatever u call it... me not sure, just know it's big haha)

now carry in my bag causes the ear foams to deform... heart pain boy... :(
