Dear Forumers

Is it cheaper to buy headphone online or any good web site to order AKG701? Got a quote from Jaben that it costs [deleted] or any good place in Singapore to get good priced Headphone?

Thanks for reading and sharing.

Welcome, bkling, to the forums. We hope you would enjoy your stay here.

We have a policy of not quoting prices in the forums. If you must, just give a ballpark figure, and that would suffice. We implemented this policy because:

1. Pricing may vary between dealers, and we definitely do not want any misunderstandings to arise.

2. Pricing can also vary, depending on whom is asking :) That's life, but it can also cause misunderstandings.

3. Keep the pricing information to PM's please.

For your information, the price you quoted from Jaben Networks is a decent price, bearing in mind that this is the flagship headphone model from AKG.

You can very conceivably get a cheaper price online, but bear in mind the attendant risks - e.g. shipping costs, warranty etc. You might also try the classifieds in headfi.org to see if you can get a used pair. The same risks for online shopping also apply, of course.

Do take note of the hassle, waiting time and shipping cost should anything happen to the 701. Sometimes it's just more worthwhile to pay a little more to get local warranty.
People call me things like nuts, crazy and insane, I just tell them I am very serious when it comes to my hobbies.

The most important thing in this hobby, sit down with a nice drink and enjoy the music. =]

while there are online risks, i also have to add that shopping online is much safer than it was before. if you can get a deal online thats significantly better than buying locally and you don't mind waiting (and waiting and well... just taking the risk etc.) then go ahead!

if you could save like $100+, i'd say it would be a good buy. warranty wise, that could be a issue as well... so hehe, good luck and tell us what you've done :)

cheers mate!

I think the only good deal for the 701 was the one that was sometime ago for roughly 300 odd sing. But that online shop isn't selling it for that price anymore. I'll say 500 odd for the 701 is a fairly decent price.
