I'm begging my editor to let me review these since I've already done the HD650 and the DT990.

Well, for me, the only grudge that I have against the K701 is surprisingly, not in terms of sonic performance, but yes - you guess it - the freaking iPodish style they used it for their flagship headphone!
Okay, just to clarify, I have nothing against the iPods but I just cant take glossy white.. instead.. piano finish (glossy black) is more like it.

Now, now, talk about worshipping the iPod craze to the max!

My stand is still clear and firm - as long as there's a K801 = K701 + K501 colour scheme, I'll buy it straightaway. :)

Muahahahaha

Chris, you just gotta beg harder. Do you guys get to keep the reviewed items?

topgun: i tot ur stash includes a K1000 to have fun with? I tot they look awsm!!

Personally, i tot e K701 is pretty immaculate with their design.. althou they might have designed in such a way to look like a distant relative of the ipod.. sometimes i couldnt help thinking steve job has done it again by stuffing money to AKG, pleaing them to do a ipod look on e k701.. lols

 The problem I think is that getting a new pair to review may not be such a good thing, since I have already heard of the need to 'burn in' the K701s for some time, some say 300 hours, others say 500 hrs
