Yes. If you did some googling (which I did), here's what you could come up with. Go to http://www.google.com.sg (and click pages from Singapore only option) Here's what you will come up with. http://www.sytec.com.sg/proaudio.html Sytec has some recommendations for professionally certified audiologists too. They are the local distributors for UE and Fischer Amp products. |

Laughing out loud.. means a direct rebranding lah ~ For those who always wanted clear version of the Super.fi(s), here they are in a better cool-looking logo! The Superfi.3 Studio aka M-Audio IE-10 ![]() The Superfi.5 Pro aka M-Audio IE-30 aka Guitar Centre's clear version ![]() Finally, The Superfi.5 Extended Bass aka M-Audio IE-20 XB ![]() IMHO, they look better in clear, especially the IE-20 XB, doesn't look so ugly anymore! ![]() Who's upz for new IEMs? |

Question : What's the difference between IEM and canalphones? Haha, my turn! Altec Lansing iM716 with Shure soft flex grey tips sitting on ear canal = canalphone Altec Lansing iM716 with Shure soft flex grey tips w/ Oto-Ease and pushed deeply in = IEM See the difference? no.gif blink.gif grin.gif Actually, what I believe is that there are no differences, it's just a switchable term, like bike vs motorcycle, it's dependant on what context you were referring to... IEMs are used per their explanation, In Ear Monitors, basically this is used by artists, recording engineers, yada-yada... but when consumers came into the line, canalphone got mixed in due to us using the word on normal earbuds.. So accept what it is and enjoy your music! wink.gif Cheers! |

Cant touch ear drum. Simple, if any part of this earphone/IEM goes well within our ear canal, that's a In Ear Monitor, those resting near the entrance are called earbuds/earphones. Those with only the soft silicon tips like Sony EX71 that goes into the ear canal are called canalphones. But i think IEM=canalphones. just that it depends on where and how u use it and which type of people you are talking to. |

My humble impressions of the following. Etymotic Research™ Incorporated : (http://www.etymotic.com) ER•6 Isolator - First IEM I ever heard. an incredible step up from any earbud I've ever owned. Clarity and Transparency in upper registers but lacking in Bass. Mids tended to be a little flat and not warm enough for my taste. ER•6i Isolator - Improved version of ER6 with more extended bass. I never really liked it. Felt somewhat forced and unnatural. ER•4 MicroPro™ - The ultimate in clinical accuracy. Too harsh for me, but for those who value accuracy and transparency, there can be no better. Ultimate Ears® : (http://www.ultimateears.com) super.fi 3 Studio - Have yet to hear it super.fi 5 Pro™ - Have yet to hear it super.fi 5 EB™ - Sounded like a mutated version of the EX71. Boomy uncontrolled bass disguised as "Extended Bass". Remarkably veiled for this price range. Did not like it. Westone Laboratories™ Incorporated : (http://www.westone.com/music/) Universal Series UM 1 - Good balance and at the perfect price point for a first timer venturing into the IEM world. Fabulously comfortable with no microphonics. Cables are kinda fragile so care needs to be taken. At this price range (ER6,E2,UM1), I would get the UM1. Universal Series UM 2 - I bought this and am using now. Nuff said. Shure® Incorporated : (http://shure.com/PersonalAudio/Products/Earphones/index.htm) Gaming series : (built in earclip) - I'll skip the G series. I've heard them all, and the only difference is that they are black and come with a shorter cable. E Series : E2c - My first IEM. Was a step up from anything I ever owned. Ultimately, having heard everything else, the E2s are simply not worth it. When I bought these, they were the only ones available in SG. E3c - These are weird, never liked them. Sound was off balance and it was way too expensive to consider. At this price, better to buy the ER4 E4c - Second IEM owned. Loved them to bits. very good balance across the freq range. Not as clinical as the ER4 but with better bass and more lucious mids. E5c - Heard the E5 (not the E5c), with the memory cable. It sounded weird. The E4c was much more balanced and enjoyable to listen to. It combined the transparency of the ER4 with much much better bass. But the midrange seemed vacant and missing. E500PTH - Haven't heard it. |
