to be honest, after demo-ing the IM716. i don't like it. i don't like the way it sounds... to be honest i think the bass mode is the saddest thing i've heard and i dont like the volume control knob too :)

i really don't like this IEM but then again, to each his own.

Be warned though. The UE biflange plus EP630 combo seems to have a weird fit. I couldn't put it into my ears, the normal "earbud" method or the behind-the-ear "Westone-Shure" method.

i'm glad you like the im716s... i unfortunately would avoid this iem like the plague.

i think we have very different tastes when it comes to iems lol :) honest.

here's what i think:

built: average, abit tacky. unlike the built of the e4c, um series and the er-4 (but price to built ratio is reasonable)

cables: nothing to boast about. i truly dislike the dangly volume knob. uncomfortable to me... (can be removed but worth the trouble / risk?)

comfort: can't say much as i haven't used them long enough.

sound: HD mode is okay... it doesn't really impress me. Bass mode: terrible, i think its the worst ever feature on a iem, i could hear distortion on some of my tracks. total ear-sore on some tracks.

i didn't really like to be fumbling around with the hd / bass switch while enjoying my music. i think its just too gimicky. if i'm not mistake the impedance of the hd mode was about 68ohms and bass was about 30ohms, not a very efficient iem to me imho.

to each his own, peace and enjoy the im716 :D
