Please watch and listen to this video; it's from a link I followed on GameFAQs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz0PaPpmGa8 I believe it's a Super Mario World hack. The various sound effects of hitting shells and such are done to tune of the background music. The music that starts around 6:02 and goes on for a little bit is kinda bugging me. It sounds incredibly familiar; I know I've heard it in a game, but I can't remember which one. If someone remembers what game it's from, in what part of the game the music plays and could tell me those things, I would be grateful. No other music in the video is bugging me. The only other music that played that I felt was familiar was some music from Super Mario RPG, in the forest. I don't remember the name of the forest, but that's not bugging me. |

Some of the music was definitely from Super Mario World itself. I can recall that. As for that specific part around 6:02, I couldn't tell you. I never got to play Super Mario RPG. Hopefully I can get it on Virtual Console.

Oh, that's right. I recognized some of the music later on in the video as being Super Mario World itself. Damn, I had really thought that you, being one of the site's older members, would be one of the most likely people to remember the song at 6:02, due to just being around longer to play more games, and more specifically, the older ones, where I have hunch the music came from. Super Mario RPG was an awesome game; one of my favorite games, if not my favorite game in the entire Mario series. It would be good if it came to the VC, so that those who never got to play it before could. Unfortunately, I think there may be legal issues regarding bringing the game back, since it was made by Square. |

Now it's bugging me too. I also think I've heard said music in some Mario game somewhere, but not where... Yeah, I've heard there's quite a lot of legal issues there. Due to unique SMRPG characters being the legal property of Square, not Nintendo. Hence why Smithy, Mallow, Geno and the like never appeared again (I know more about the game than you'd expect for someone that never played it, thanks to the Mario wiki). |

Geno actually made a minor cameo appearance in a later Mario game, but that's it. It was Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, IIRC. I listened to it a bit more and even got my brother listening to it; neither of us recognized it. |

That's weird, I've never played any Megaman games prior to the X series. How I found that familiar, I don't know. I must've heard it on another YouTube video or something. |

If you want to know all of the songs in this video, just watch this version. It's split into 2 parts though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEFa17MZrX8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYIn9cnHMdU&feature=related |
