Part 1: The Speeding Twit.

I had a driving lesson this morning and everything was pretty ok, I only stalled a couple of times (hey, that's good going for me) and eventually got onto a dual carriageway where I could go nice and fast and have a nice little easy drive. Woooo! Then I glance at my mirror and see the bloke behind me in my mirror, a fat, ugly middle aged guy in a souped up sports car. I turn back to road, watching where I'm going (the smart thing to do when driving fast, or driving in general) when suddenly- ZOOM! Fat Bloke overtakes me and races away.

I was going at 40 miles an hour- WHICH IS THE SPEED LIMIT!

You stupid ass, you weren't supposed to be going any faster!

Oh, oh no, was I going too slow for you and your mid-life crisis-mobile? Noo, take pity on poor little me and my little Corsa!

F***er.

Speeding = :nono:

Part 2: The Bend of Wrath

You're going at 28 miles per hour(ish) in 3rd gear. You see the black and white arrow signs indicating a sharp bend. Do you;

A. Slow down, change into second and take the corner carefully?

B. Zoom around the corner at forty, swerve and skid awkwardly and scare the shit out of the learner driver who just turned around the corner, forcing them to swerve onto the pavement to avoid you?

Being a competent driver and a reasonably intelligent human being, I did A.

Shortly after, a guy came rocketing around the corner faster than a whippet with bumful of mustard and nearly skidded into me. Well if he had noticed that the road was wet he might have taken more care... yeah right, if he was turning at 40, he wouldn't have given a fig what the road was like. I sharply drove onto the pavement (luckily there were no pedestrians) and braked as he zoomed past.

:censored: :censored: :censored:

Surely these people had to pass their test, so at some point, I assume they were halfway decent drivers. I know that familiarity breeds contempt, but it now seems that contempt breeds idiocy.

Yep.

It just pisses me off when idiots think that A) they own the road, B) speed limits are just there for decoration, C) that an expensive car makes you a dangerous, sauve chick magnet instead of a pathetic, balding middle aged loser with an attitude problem and D) they always have right of way.

I know exactly what you mean. I also had a driving lesson yesterday. Complete hell when the idiot in front of me stopped at a GREEN LIGHT!

Maybe he's related to the guy who honked me a few weeks a go when I slowed down to make a right turn.

Yeah.

I was going on around a really sharp turn and got honked it. If I'd not have slowed down, there would have been a three car pile-up. Yes sir, I'll go faster and cause death and destruction!

People are too impatient nowadays. If you're late, speeding won't make you on time, but it might kill you and/or someone else.

The worst part about the guy who sped round the corner was that this was at 9 o'clock in the morning and children were walking to the nearby school. You really should keep an eye out for them, but nooo, speed speed SPEED!
