Just in case. You can dispatch up to ten units. Each unit consists of 5 characters on a 3x3 grid. You assign them destinations. You equip and raise your own army. However, you have no control over the actual battles. The battles are automated and fun to watch. You arrange your characters the right way as to get more attacks, you equip the best equipment you can. It's the decisions you make BEFORE the battle that determine the outcome (along with a bit of luck). It's a massive game, spanning over 40 unique maps and one of the most kick-ass storylines I've ever witnessed. Music is great for an N64 game. The characters have depth and you actually start to get attached to some of them. Overall, it's in my Top 5 Games ever list.... |

The amount of items and equips is godly. Fully customizable characters. It's addicting. MASSIVE CLASS SYSTEM. The choices you make in-game affect the special characters you can get. Also, you'll love this one, CotF. There's a character named Sheen. He's a Hawkman and he's really perverted. Actually, he's like you but with wings and a kick-ass hammer! |

One thing. If you just play the game without reading up you have a 100% chance of going the chaos route and getting the bad ending. I could tell you all about it another time. I seriously have like 8 seperate word documents with details of this game. |

The final mission kicks ass in that ending. But the ending itself is unsatisfying. The hero gets no recognition for saving the country and leading his forces to victory. Law Route = Better characters, better ending, hard. Chaos Route = Cooler characters, less characters, easier, bad ending It's mostly based on if you liberate or capture towns. You liberate a town if you take it with a unit that has the same general alignment as it. A Chaotic unit will liberate towns that have low morale. If you use the opposite sort of unit, you capture it, thus dropping your rating and starting you to the chaos path. |

It sounds good, but I like to be in charge of what my characters do. If I had to leave them to it I'd be really weird about it. |

Well, what attacks they do depend on what they have equiped. The point is, you can't tell them "Attack that Knight!" There's four battle strategies. Attack Strongest, Attack Weakest, Attack Leader and Automonous - which just makes them attack the one that's easiest for them to target. Attack Leader should always be your choice, though. |

So you give them basic orders and they fight? Kinda like non player controled characters in Tales games? |

Oh but that would annoy me so much. Even in the Tales games (where battle can be left with the computer controlled characters fighting with certain strategies) I have to control ONE character otherwise I will go nuts. |

That's understandable. That type of gameplay dosen't appeal to everyone, after all. |
