Earthquake Arena - a simple grassy field that stretches as far as the eye can see. however, beward, for there be earthquakes abound! earthquakes happen all the time here, and I mean ALL the time. if you've played Soul Calibur 3 and gone to that one earthquakes place, it's kinda like that, but without the cliffs.

Gavyn rides into the arena his Elem Blast tome at the ready.

Ryan walks onto the field, a smile on his face. "Nice day, don't you think?" He steps forward and jumps, and wind propels him upward so that he's carried ten feet into the air. He opens his Aircalibur tome and launches blades of wind at Gavyn from above.

Not expecting an instant attack, Gavyn was caught off guard and was hit full force by the wind blades, knocking him backwards and off of his horse, at the same moment of an earthquake. He was bounced around and landed after a few moments. Deciding that his current weapon would sacrifice time, he swapped it for his Bolting tome as Ryan was fairly far away. He launced his attacking sending an electric bolt straight at Ryan, while running back to Icehoof, his mount.

Ryan hits the ground and rolls instantly to avoid the bolting. "You know, Bolting spells tend to be horribly inaccurate." Ryan runs toward Gavyn, pulling out his Fimbulvetr tome.

"This I am aware of, You know it is best to feel out your opponent early in the battle, to assess what you face, don't you?" Gavyn said all this as he pulled out his own Fimbulvetr tome and began to chant the spell.

Having not used Gavyn in a battle since promotion, I negelected the fact that he is mounted, he's a Mage Knight after all. Hang on I'll edit my posts a bit. Nothing major, just a few mentions of his mount.

"Ah, so that's it, was it? In that case, it was a pretty good plan." Ryan knew the exact time it took a Fimbulvetr spell to cast, so he waited for the precise moment and then dashed to the side to avoid it. However, an earthquake rocked the land as he dashed and he tripped and fell, and a sharp piece of ice cut his upper right arm. "Gee, earthquakes, you never know when they'll strike next," Ryan said as he got up, his cheery demeaner not dampened in the slightest. He started casting a modified version of Fimbulvetr to freeze Gavyn's horse's legs to the ground.

Sensing an attack, Gavyn had Icehoof gallop to the side as he took out his Alacalibur tome and attempted to launch a wind blades at Ryan.

ooc: Is Alacalibur the same as Aircalibur from another game? I know Alacalibur was in FE8 but got removed, but you can get it with gameshark.

((I think it's the same thing, the stats are even the same. They must've decided pretty early on in development not to include it, though, since it didn't get the same weight increase treatment that all the other FE6 tomes got.))

Ryan nimbly steps out of the way of the wind blades. "You'll have to do better than that to catch me!" He jumps into the air again, once again using the wind for momentum, and takes out his Thunder tome to send a blast of lightning at Gavyn from his palm.

Gavyn had Icehoof attempt to dodge the bolt but an unlucky Earthquake strike caused the horse's hoofs to buck up and he was hit. He managed to stay on his horse and galloped across the plains a bit, but made no attempt to attack at this point.

Ryan pursures his opponent, Aircalibur and Thunder tomes in hand. "Come on, are you just going to run away?" Another earthquake makes him trip and fall, but he picks himself up and starts running after Gavyn again.

With Ryan still fairly far away, Gavyn decided on a whim to try his own magic. He took out his Elem Blast tome. He muttered a few words and an icicle-like object appeared in front of him. Muttering a few more words surronded it in fire, but the two floated there together rather than the ice being melted. Another few words infused the substance with lightning and the final set surronded the entire thing with blades of wind. It went launching towards Ryan at an incredible speed just as an earthquake started. He launched the attack just in time but was thrown from Icehoof, landing hard on the ground, a bit dazed. He hoped to the Gods that his aim was good enough.

Ryan lost his balance from the earthquake and fell down again, and that was what saved him from taking the full force of Gavyn's spell. He was falling just as the spell went by, and he still got badly cut up by the wind blades. He wiped away some of the blood with his shirt sleeve. "So, you've got you're own special spell too, huh? Well, let's see who's spell is better, what do you think?" He took out his Stormrage tome, improved after several years of study and refinement. Ryan started chanting, and almost immediatly he was incased in a protective dome of ice.

"Fine by me." replied Gavyn as he jumped up and mounted his horse. Seeing the ice dome he knew not much would get through it. "Eh, why not?" he thought and took out his Elfire tome and let the fireball loose, doubting it would work, Ryan was cleary extremely powerful.
