Well it worked... now when can we start getting rid of them?
:woo: AMEN Spoiler Hoe

I must admit though, that this storyline will bring great ratings, because we'll keep tuning in each week just to see what havoc they cause.

lol we will tune in because we're loyal fans. I have never liked Izzie, so I wasn't that suprised that she left, actuallly with her coding, I think we could sense her leaving happening, but for her to come back alive then leave, kinda cold to me, but I guess they wanted to keep her storyline open. The only one I feel bad about is Alex. First he opens his feelings and tell her he loves her and can't imagine life without her and she can't leave him, and worries over her dying, then she leaves without telling him why. Sorry i don't buy it, especially when Izzie is the type to confront the issue not run away from it.

i believe it's a setup from charlie, and somehow it will come out and Chief will rehire izzie with a go down on his knees apologies. but frankly being the snobby diva that she is, she should just be let go, really...she didn't have much of a storyline going on other than her cancer. And I can't see her back in the hospital working, even seeing her be a doctor make me think she's playing as a doctor. In honesty, I don't think she's all that in the movies, not one that will get a oscar award. But that's just me. Why do i get the feeling she'll come back when her upcoming movie ends? Like I said, she has this as a backup, so that tells me she's not that great of a movie actress when she relies on this show to come back to make money. oh well..

I also felt it was unfair that Hunt let christina go when she was on her lunch break, didn't ask for her explanation but hunt is a bit blunt and has strong work ethics. I don't think hunt sees her as much of a doctor too...

Ya, didn't see Mark, hmm they need to make a better storyline for him. all he has is his relationship with Lexie, and even that to me, is just ok.

and the orange scrubs=prison garbs.

When Lexie made that comment about the "Well I noticed" and pointed to her nose... I was thinking... would it not have been great to hear that Sloan had done the procedure... I mean heck... Why No Sloan? Where is he?

Pretty sad when a long time ago I use to tease Randi that I did not like him... and now I am missing him? hum...

I tell you... he needs more screen time...

^ Maybe that eppy filmed when he was unavailable or something. He has had a lot going on lately with the now infamous "film", his wife is pregnant and I'm sure he's probably shooting another movie or something. I'm not too worried...in fact, maybe since we didn't see him at all in the last eppy, we will be getting TONS of him in the coming episodes.

Regarding this Izzie situation. I really am starting to think Shonda is doing everything in her power to make it so that this character has absolutely no fans left. I mean seriously, how much are we supposed to take? Izzie cuts LVAD wire and a character everyone liked dies, Izzie sleeps with George and from then on out the George character is history (literally), Izzie has sex with a ghost for FAR too long because Shonda is regretting killing that character in the first place and refuses to let him RIP, Izzie now gets fired and Alex gets screwed over YET AGAIN by a psycho. The poor guy seriously can't catch a break!!! I knew that they were going to have the character Izzie be gone for a while because of Katie's movie/baby, but did they have to do it this way??? Stupid move.

What the hell ??

No Mark and Izzie left Alex... Now I am almost speechless :( . If it keeps going like that then... I don't know what comes...
Mistakes are painful, but you have to make these by your own to learn. And you are my favorite, the most common and the most painful one, sorry for everything...

I didn't miss Mark. Maybe it's just me, but since he hooked up with Lexie he lost his charming sarcasm. He became kind of lame. I don't know. I miss old Mark. Now he's too sweet and so out of his original character.

I kinda agree with this. At times a like him and Lexie together...but for the most part I'd rather have the old Mark back. I miss him too. He was a great comedic relief, still is....just not in the same way. :(

I am guessing the whole film put a damper on things for Eric & his wife... and he probably needed some off time... but I am soo waiting for him to come back... I miss SLOAN...

I am thinking Shonda is doing exactly what she has planned... she wants us all to HATE/Love each character... I mean think about it... we have all done this with each and every character... and its like a darn roller coaster ride... will this week be UP or will this week be down... Will we stay on the ride or will we jump off?

The two guys that make me soo upset... use to be Alex and Sloan... but now... I can not help but wait to see what is going on with them.

For NOW its the UGLY ORANGE PUMPKIN looking Invaders that make me SCREAM!!!

New faces invade 'Grey's Anatomy'

"Locust, comfortable locust feeding on our surgeries."

That is how Meredith Grey describes the newcomers from Mercy West Hospital as they begin their first day after the merge.

This week's episode, appropriately titled "Invasion," introduced some of the Mercy West surgeons that will now be fixtures in the cast. It truly seemed like an invasion with all of them running around in their orange scrubs, almost like a swarm of ants taking over the place.

Each of our beloved residents was assigned to work with a newbie, introducing us to four of the new faces.

Lexie was with April, who turns out to be just like Lexie herself, annoyingly right all the time and wanting to be liked. April compulsively scribbles everything in her little red notebook, which Lexie later steals and reads. From this, she learns lots of personal information about April, such as her plastic surgery history and her personal motivational phrases.

Christina worked with Jackson who steals her thunder. After he repeatedly gets credit for her work, she goes to Meredith's hospital bed and breaks down. She actually sobs, talking about how she has not done an invasive surgery in a long time and that she doesn't feel seen.

"Nothing is happening to me...I don't want to fight anymore," Christina Yang"Nothing is happening to me...I don't want to fight anymore," Yang said. Could she be leaving the show soon?

Paired with Izzy was Charles, who was to acting as a George replacement. He talked about having a huge crush on a girl that blows him off and wanting to have a friend, but Charles turns out to be a real jerk, playing Izzy all along and just wanting to have someone on the inside.

Of course, Izzy gets emotional and ends up making a mistake which costs her everything. Later, she is called into the Chief's office and told that she is being fired. He made it clear that it wasn't because of her cancer, but because of the incident that just happened and that a few people, namely her own husband, expressed how they do not think she is emotionally fit for her position.

This is all a big blow, and after hearing Alex's name listed she, in a very middle school move, left a note on his locker saying she's leaving him. He, along with Christina and Meredith, were completely astounded by Izzy leaving. But wait before you start mourning over Izzy, Katherine Heigl got a five-week leave to film a movie, so she's not gone for good.

Meanwhile, Callie's father flew in with a priest in attempt to turn her from being gay. This side story was really touching and heartfelt. Each scene was amazing.

At first Callie storms out shouting, "You can't pray away gay!" But later Arizona gets a great one-on-one with Mr. Torres where she explains to him that her daughter is still the same girl he raised. Callie and her dad come to an understanding after another talk, which will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

All things considered, this merge will do good things for the show. It needed a boost, and this storyline has some potential with the new faces. I wonder about Christina's future on the show since she hasn't had much going on for a while. It will also be interesting to see how Alex reacts to Izzy being gone.

Meredith is playing the recovering liver donor these days with cleverly placed props to hide Ellen Pompeo's very pregnant body. She will have to take maternity leave sometime soon, so I am curious to see how that will play out.

Also, Mark was not in this episode and Bailey had very little part in it at all.

I'm curious about the future. I like having the plot spiced up a bit with new faces and I hope that it does good things for the show.

Grey’s Anatomy: There’s a Fungus Among Us

October 19, 2009 by Tanya Lane

Big changes are underway at Seattle Grace, which is besieged by the Mercy West staff due to the merger. Easily distinguishable by their orange scrubs, the MW folks are a new breed. It was hard enough competing with one another for surgeries, but now the residents have twice the competition as they all vie for opportunities. I really like this new storyline and the convenient way we can point out the newcomers. Meredith is recovering from her liver surgery, and begins the episode as omniscient narrator, describing the process by which humans become infected with viruses, their bodies invaded by bacteria. As she outlines this process we see the MW docs milling around in their orange scrubs, invading Seattle Grace. The analogy is one that runs throughout the episode as the Seattle Grace docs try to survive the invasion. Izzie befriends a newcomer named Charles, only to find out that he’s trashing her behind her back, bragging that she’s his “surgical bitch” and that he has her wrapped around his finger. The other residents are fighting tooth and nail over patients on a one-on-one basis. They each have an individual adversary. Alex competes with a doctor named Reid, and their patient suffers while they bicker in an endless effort to one-up each other. After they each make crucial mistakes they finally begin to work together. Cristina is particularly peeved as Owen takes a liking to a new resident named Avery who carves out a unique niche in the ER when he saves a patient’s life in a most unconventional manner: by tackling his would-be hammer-wielding killer before he can strike a fatal blow.

Personal problems always intertwine with professional ones, and although Callie has her job back, she has to deal with her father who has reappeared in an effort to redeem Callie for her perceived sin of being gay. This (understandably) does not go over well initially, but the pair manages to find common ground after Arizona astutely explains to Callie that she’s the one who has changed while her father has remained constant. Callie should give him a little more leeway in his acceptance of her lifestyle.

Callie is having a rough day, but the award for Worst Day Ever goes to Izzie, who has effed up royally. Considering the various debacles that have taken place at Seattle Grace, this is no small feat. She and Charles are responsible for a young woman who is due to receive a kidney transplant she’s been patiently awaiting for three years. Izzie allows her anger at Charlie to distract her, and she carelessly makes an error that not only nearly costs the patient her life, but renders her unable to receive the transplant. This is a colossal blunder of epic proportions and it ends up costing Izzie her job. Her dismissal isn’t merely related to this mistake though. Other doctors have expressed reservations about her readiness to return to surgical work, including Alex – who inadvertently sabotaged her by acknowledging these potential misgivings in an effort to persuade the Chief to retain her at the beginning of the episode. The Chief fires her in the end, and carelessly mentions Alex’s concerns in doing so. Izzie feels betrayed and alone, and takes off, leaving Alex a Dear John letter. He is on the verge of a breakdown, and Justin Chambers was excellent as a doctor trying to “keep it together” while holding on by a thread.

This episode was great, and the Mercy West merger breathes new life into the show while introducing several new cast members ripe for new plotlines and conflicts. There also was fine acting from Sandra Oh and Sara Ramirez as their characters experienced teary emotional collapses, reminding me of why Grey’s Anatomy doesn’t just receive accolades as a show, but well-deserved individual honors too. I can’t wait to see how the introduction of all these new characters continues to flesh out the old ones while injecting some novelty to the show and cast.
