I liked about 15 minutes total...... I read their ponderings on it and really didn't care. It was shyte. I dealt with George being gone end of last season... I think what I am not dealing with is Izzie... Her and her cancer card make me want to puke then add in her and Alex being set up to bicker and I just wish they respected her DNR and kept TRK.. I am at the point where a a George recast would of suited me better than looking at Izzie.... And my only hype for the opener was that I assumed it would suck.... I guess what I didn't expect was that in TWO FULL HOURS it would suck that bad....... |
This banner was beautifully made my Randirella and yeah she'll know what I mean....=) ![]()

Mind you when we originally started this board we had 20 pages of opinions...We were here as soon as the show endd..we now have 3.....I mean really I am seriously thinking that in breaking all the rules this season they may just break the show....I hope not though but if the opener is the key to things to come....I'm scared..... |

I want to know what you guys all expected? Yeah it was a bit on the boring side, but it wasn't god awful as some are making it sound. The show is not going to be the same that it was in seasons 1 and 2...i think we need to get over this already. And TR Knight choose to leave Grey's...they didn't fire him! It sucks so bad not to have him...but this was his decision. If people are so upset with the direction the show is going and has been going for a while now, if they hate the characters, the writing, etc...then why even watch??? I plan on sticking around till either Shonda or ABC decide to pull the plug on Greys, but for those looking for something else I heard Mercy is a lot like Grey's and Fast Forward looked promising. Oh and P.S. - I love that we all have different opinions....it's what keeps me coming back to GAO day after day. The conversation that takes place here makes Grey's that much more interesting. So thank you board momma and all the members for making this place so awesome, no matter how much Grey's may or may not suck! Edited by McJen, Sep 28 2009, 08:19 AM.

I still have not been able to re-watch it... cuz I have been soo busy the whole weekend. I want to make sure and re-watch it cuz there were things I loved... and then I had a hard time with the way they dealt with George's death. I mean... I know Izzie laughs at funerals... I know that sometimes we laugh when we are nervous (I do) and I know people have very different ways to deal with their pain. I just felt like someone hit me really hard in the stomach when I saw them laughing and I was telling myself "Poor George"... I mean as long as none of the family members saw them laughing... then I guess it was ok... but heck I told my hubby I felt it was morbid... but its only cuz I am still in denial... its going to take me a while to really get over it. I know TR wanted out... but I just miss Georgie. Loved how they made people think it was not him... loved Lexie's denial and I also loved the way they were all mourning him. There were just a couple of characters that I wanted to jump into the screen and choke... hee hee But then.. I had to remember... everyone is soo different in their reactions/feelings/emotions/grief. Thus the commentary was AWESOME! I am truly believing that each episode is going to get even more dramatic as they go along. I am honestly looking forward to this weeks episode and I want to see Seattle Grace become #1... but on its own... I am hoping this merge will not last... and that Seattle Grace will work alone... but Shonda may have other plans for us. I like where the couples are heading.. Mer/Der dealing with grief through sex... and Der knew it was only a matter of time that Mer would melt down. He is her McDreamy in more ways than one. Cristina/Owen working with the therapist... loved how he brought her along. Cristina is a tough cookie... but you see her starting to break down as well as Owen. Mark/Lexie... loved Lexie's jealousy and the way she handled Callie... heck the way Callie handled the whole situation. It was hilarious to watch and I loved Callie for being soo classy. She would refrain from doing that again. hee hee Callie/Arizona... I love the hope and inspiration that comes from their pairing... some parts are funny... and the overstepping to help the child made me admire Arizona even more. Alex/Izzie... Gosh those two are going to have soo much ahead of them I can tell. A rushed marriage... Alex finally spilling his feelings... He did wonderful. Not sure what is ahead for them both... but loved how blunt and upfront they are with each other. As an outsider looking in... I was thinking "HolyHeck..." but all the pent up frustration needs to come out from BOTH of them in order to move forward. I am starting to feel sorry for the Chief... and Poor Bailey... I mean... where are their other halves... where is their support system? Any ways... I am going to re-watch both episodes... but no matter what... I can see what a ROLLER COASTER ride we are all in for. |

Depending on how this whole merge pans out......I might be done mid season.....which stinks....... Sadly enough I was looking more forward to the hour of Private Practice than I was George's death.......and I know he opted to leave.....but I think KH had more to do with it than his boyfriend.....just my take...and it really doesn't matter.....I just see the wedding I loved being torn down....and the couples we love being torn down and after awhile all that shredding really gets old.....I get the drama....IT IS A DRAMA....but what happened to the drama intertwined with real life characters that we actually had thoughts and feelings for....? Or what about the funny moments? And not them all laughing at the funeral...I mean seriously...I was waiting for them to sing ding, dong the wicked George is dead" and dance....It may of been Grey's way of dealing with death but at one time it wasn't......So sorry I am not loving it....I'll be honest only reason I watched is because LG asked me to......But I can happily refrain from posting in this section unless I find an episode that simply dazzles me...so I can post the warm fuzzies it gave me......or until the decent content outweighs the crap....until then I'll shut up but ya...My blue post it said that episode was uneventful for so many events to take place and boring...and it sucked.....yup my blue post it says "It sucks!" Over and out. |

So sorry I am not loving it....I'll be honest only reason I watched is because LG asked me to... Yikes My Person... I am soo sorry if you did not want to watch... but I can honestly say I was soo not liking the way they dealt with George's Funeral... and I am still trying to get past it all. I have been listening to others opinions... and I am still on the fence about it all. I hope it gets better and you continue to watch but if not... then there is always Private Practice. Right? |

Here is another person's opinion... BEWARE there was a cuss word and I changed it with an **... due to content and meaning... THANKS... Not everyone liked the episodes and it brings for some interesting thoughts. In my opinion. http://cornellsun.com/node/38550 McBlogging Grey’s Anatomy September 28, 2009 - 12:00am By Ahsiya Kurlansky Oh McGod! George O’Malley is McDead. Commence the McVent. There are several very large lessons to be learned from George’s tragic death. Number 1: Jumping in front of buses is a BAD idea. Number 2!: If the writers of Grey’s Anatomy begin to give your character shi**y plot lines, that’s a pretty solid indication that for all fictional standards, you are now on the Death Row of Primetime viewing. I would like to take this time to propose my argument that George O’Malley is dead because they had nothing else interesting to do with his character. Implications for the real world: keep busy and be bizarre so God has reason to keep you written in his plot lines of Planet Earth. Oh the things I have learned from ABC. Sincerest apologies. This blog is fast becoming far more twisted and morbid than I had ever imagined. The summary version of the first paragraph is that when it comes to George O’Malley’s tragic death, we all saw it coming. Seriously. There are also those of us (myself et al.) who have tired of Izzie’s ridiculous whining, and fake sex with dead people (who are figments of her imagination), and are wondering why the Grey’s gods didn’t decide to off her messed up fictional self instead. Could’ve, would’ve, should’ve. Seriously. All I know is, if Izzie starts having delusional dead sex with George, I’m going to officially end my relationship with Grey’s. This year’s season premiere of Grey’s brought us approximately 40 days of fast-forwarded Grey’s grieving post George mortem. Meredith and Derek spend most of their post Post-It-nuptials-time naked (together). In contrast, Karev and Izzie spend absolutely none of those 40 days naked. So there you have it. Sex to grieve. Withholding sex to grieve. What’s a show these days without character and plot foils anyways? I was, at the very least, happy to see Meredith let loose and cry. I don’t think I can take anymore dark and twisty Meredith with severe commitment issues. I say YES to character development and maturity. Even the notoriously hardcore Cristina Yang delves into therapy in an attempt to make things work with her sexy soldier man, Owen Hunt. There is just so much growing in this world nowadays, it’s bringing a tear to my eye. Also of growth-note, Lexie Grey (moniker: “Little Grey”) becomes a little-bigger Grey and takes the relationship plunge, finally agreeing to move in with McSteamy. (Yes folks, it’s true! You weren’t just having a McDreamy). Callie Torres and Dr. Arizona Robbins find themselves in extremely similar moral dilemmas, when they are both faced with the Chief’s questionable decisions resulting from Seattle Grace’s fictional struggle with our non-fictionally bad economy. Both women find ways around the Chief’s obnoxious obstinacy — continuing the theme of growth through grief. The strength of Grey’s sixth season premiere is that the writers made clear efforts to catapult the characters whom we have watched progress and regress for the last five seasons to new levels of maturity, as well as new realms of internal and external conflict. I am grateful that we (hopefully, knock on wood, lest I jinx our lovely characters) will not be faced with the torture of the development and unraveling of the same old and overused character flaws. I do however, remain extremely skeptical of the apocalyptic note the season premiere ended on — the ominous joining of Seattle Grace and Mercy West. Now it’s every doctor for himself. (Ensue soap opera music.) Watch Darwinism in action as our beloved doctors battle it out for a permanent spot on the newly formed Grace-Mercy team. (These hospital names are just too ironic and clever to ignore.) But gosh, if they start firing our favorite doctors, we’re not going to have a show to watch. Hope this economy gets straightened out soon … it’s even affecting my fiction! McSigh. Stay tuned, kids, it’s going to be interesting. And of course, R.I.P. George. |

http://www.northernstar.info/article/8202/ 'Grey's Anatomy' doesn't disappoint in intense premiere By BRIDGET ORKFRITZ Last updated on 09/27/2009 at 10:14 p.m. ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” had its drama-filled, two-hour season premiere Thursday night. At the end of last season, viewers were left thinking that doctors Izzie Stevens and George O’Malley had died; Stevens from her battle with skin cancer and O’Malley from getting hit by a bus to save a woman’s life. But, at the beginning of this season, we find out that although O’Malley had died, Stevens did not. The premiere shows the continuing struggles as Stevens continues her cancer treatment and a long farewell to O’Malley. Also, at the end of the episode, we find out that Seattle Grace Hospital is merging with Mercy Hospital. The premiere was intense and a great way to open the new season. Old storylines are closing, while others are just beginning and it will be interesting to see them unfold in this new season. So, what are we going to see? My prediction would be that Izzie and her husband, Alex Karev, will run into some kind of marriage problems due to what was seen in the premiere, the merge of the two hospitals will lead us to see a lot of the cast leave the show, and Dr. Bailey is going to need some kind of psychological help for her continuing breakdowns over patients since last season. “Grey’s Anatomy” airs at 8 p.m. Thursday on ABC. |
