ok....I was put out with last season....and I am sure I will be properly smacked for bringing negativity to our beloved show.....but I am not gonna lie........I hated it.......like hated it almost as bad as those stupid Old Navy commercials hated it.....McSteamy in the shower.....I liked that scene but only because he looked hot.....Meredith about made me cry when she finally dealt with George's death.......other than that.....I didn't like it....so come one come all you bright and shiny people and explain to me how it was not crap? lol.....Cos I missed the omg I am so riveted part...................and I even said I was done with this mess surely someone must agree this sucked and I wasn't being dark and twisty either....Gawd that episode sure was though.......

Heya Jamie. =) I know who you are...=) They were morbid. I didn't even laugh. I don't even care if someone can even slightly manipulate that in a positive light. That was absolutely wrong. I know Grey's isn't always right. I get that. I get that that was their demented way of dealing but to me it just made them all seem like Yang. The lights are on but the hearts are not home and yet I knew they were. I don't know....I hated the whole thing..... |

I loved it!! Aside from George being dead and all that sadness I actually loved the episode. I loved how they displayed that everyone grieves differently, how they all accept it in differnt ways and how they express the loss of a loved one. I loved that they were all laughing and talking at George's funeral and i feel that that's what he would have wanted because he knows his firends that well, he wouldn't want them to be sad, he'd want them to be happy. I loved that they in sense made refernce to s2 when Iz said "I laugh at funerals" because she's the one who started the laughing. I loved that Lex was jealous of Callie and that Callie made her realize that Mark loves her because he hasn't "looked at her boobs" since they got together. I love that Derek and Meredith are HAPPY and IN LOVE! I love that Owen and Cristina are moving on, and I love that Bailey is an attending! I just hope she's able to be herself again soon. I loved the scene with her and Derek in the elevator because again, it made reference to s2. I love Arizona talking about how she finally gets the "McDreamy" thing. I loved alot of things really. I didn't care much for the "creeper" Amanda or the merger with Mercy West but I'm sure I can deal with that because this is my favorite show and though there have been lots of downs with it, IMO it's coming up and up and up!!!!! |

I loved it....I felt they dealt with the "George O'Malley is dead" situation as best as they could and in a very traditional "Grey's dark and twisty with a glimmer of hope" way....which is a good thing. I will write more later once I've had a chance to decompress and think about it more. |

you took the words right out of my mouth. i didn't see Callie moving to Mercy West though, but i loved how she told off the chief. one of my favorite lines has to be when Lexie asked Callie how gay she was, on a scale from one to gay. i was laughing my head off. Hahahaha! I knew you'd feel that way! I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. I guess I'm netural. I liked the first hour more than the second. The second hour was just, meh. Like all the sudden Bailey is an attending. Yeah we all knew it was coming if you looked at the cast photos but a little "Congratulations Bailey, here are your big girl scrubs" would have been nice. I was heartbroken last night when Callie forced Alex into telling Izzie George was dead, and then when she went into his room and touched his hand....gaaah!! The funeral was just creepy because it was the first time seeing everyone together without George. It's going to be a big adjustment to get used to. Overall the whole entire two hours was just meh. But atleast the promo for next week looks semi promising. |

I think I need to re-watch tonight and get a better feel for it... I could not stop crying when they were dealing with George's death and Bailey's questions "Who is getting heart, kidneys, etc??" I am going to FOREVER miss George. I was a bit taken back with the laughing... but then again Melissa reminded me that Izzie laughs at funerals. This was Grey's way of dealing with death. Each person deals with it in a very different way. I was just waiting for Bailey to finally melt down... but when Der closed the elevator... I got that feeling that Bailey is getting stronger... and stronger. There were parts I loved... and parts I was just thinking and thinking about... So... I want to re-watch it and then I will give you my honest opinion. But for now all I can really say is "WOW... you could truly see how much all the the characters have grown... have evolved..." I can not get it out of my mind the part where they are cleaning out his locker... cuz I tell you I knew I was going to take this episode hard... and I was right. |

**Interesting Article:** http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/09/25/oh-my-greys-the-top-10-moments-of-greys-anatomy/ Oh My Grey’s! The Top 10 Moments of Grey’s Anatomy September 25, 2009 Grey’s Anatomy kicked off season 6 with a two-hour episode that picked up where the finale’s cliffhanger left off. In between the crying fits (which came fast and furious for 120 minutes), we compiled the top 10 OMG (as in ‘Oh My Grey’s‘) moments as the doctors of Seattle Grace tried to survive losing one of their own. –Carrie Bell Audacity of Hope: For a brief moment, George fans wondered if a goodbye was necessary when Lexie claimed the body was too tall and the others questioned Meredith’s finger-writing interpretation skills. But Callie checked for his Texas-shaped freckle and confirmed the end of 007. Unless, of course, Izzie starts hallucinating again. (We bet George would be up for some ghost sex.) Four Residents and a Funeral: When the remaining four original interns stepped away from the burial unable to control their snickers, it had the authenticity, emotion and humor of season 1, and reminded us of why we started TiVo-ing the show in the first place. She’s Alive: Izzie has been brought back from the brink of death and is showing improvement. (Notice she’s not cured, so the Katherine Heigl exit rumors can continue.) Her recovery left her new hubby distant and constantly worried about her fragility. “You made me let you in. You made me love you. If I lose you, I won’t survive,” he cried in one of the most poignant scenes. Mister Skin: Whoever came up with the idea that Deredith should sleep their way through their grief in every room of their house and get caught by Izzie and Alex should get a raise. If the same person is responsible for showing off Sloan’s body (with conveniently placed steam) in the shower and a shirtless Hunt, it should be a big one. McDreamy’s abs should be featured as much as his hair. Blast From the Past: Grey’s has a history of hiring big names and turning them into character actors (Eric Stoltz, Christina Ricci, Tyne Daly and Chris O’Donnell) and the tradition continued with Martha Plimpton as a mom desperate to get help for her son who proved hard to diagnose. Bet that Goonies line “Never say die” came in handy. Bailey Breakdown: Seattle Grace’s tough cookie started to unravel after George’s death. Bailey told Derek of her plan to be detached and cold in the future: “I have to stop caring so much. I have to save it for my son. I can’t keep giving it away here.” Dang, Yang: Owen’s shrink instructed him to abstain from sex with Cristina, saying, “To heal, he’s going to have to start talking. If you get lost in lust, he won’t start.” No sex made Cristina grumpy. She made one inappropriate comment after another (including one about cancer patients unfairly getting the good popsicles), nicknamed a boat-accident “patient ceviche” and butted in on Bailey’s case. These Lines: “He was kind of a dorky little dude. Was he hung?” and “Yeah, I played the cancer card. I’m gross. Whatever,” and “If you know a way to sugarcoat a colostomy bag, I would like to hear it,” and “How gay are you on a scale from 1 to gay?” Group Think: The duty of narrating fell on all the regulars this time and it was a nice and unexpected touch, especially as the voiceover dealt with the stages of grief and how they look different depending on whose wearing them. Bravo. Ripped from the Headlines: Like hospitals across the U.S., Seattle Grace is facing budget cuts and layoffs. The Chief made Arizona cry when he denied her MRI request and Torres jumped ship when he couldn’t give her a promotion. The board was breathing down his neck, offering his position to Der and eventually came up with a plan to merge with their biggest competitor, Mercy West. The Chief announced, “I wish I could tell you all you will survive.” As fear spread across everyone’s faces, you couldn’t help but think things are going to get ugly. |

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33011926/ns/entertainment-television/ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ bids farewell to a friend Izzie recovers, but doctors mourn for George as sixth season begins COMMENTARY By Linda Holmes msnbc.com contributor updated 10:14 p.m. CT, Thurs., Sept . 24, 2009 Bye, George: While a brief fake-out suggested that the brain-dead John Doe wasn't George after all, of course it was, and George was officially gone. Izzie, on the other hand, came back from her near-death experience. Everyone kept George's death from her until his mother placed responsibility for his organs with Callie, who knew it really belonged with Izzie, who — quite touchingly — affirmed that, of course, "George would give everything." A grieving Bailey demanded to know precisely where every organ would go, ready to reject any recipient she deemed unworthy. Predictably, George's death had a devastating effect on Izzie, whose marriage to Alex started to fray, though they reconciled once Alex admitted that his hostility was really fear that she would die — again. And in the end, Meredith sobbed in front of George's empty locker. Staff shuffle: Derek got an offer to take over as chief of staff. He stalled and went to the Chief to tell him to move fast if he wanted to save his job. Things didn't get better when an already distraught Callie, outraged over a delayed promotion, threw a fit at the Chief right in front of the board representative before departing for Mercy West. But in the end, the Chief announced that for budget reasons, Seattle Grace would merge with Mercy West, and that not everyone's job would be saved. Not just growing pains: Martha Plimpton played a mother whose son suffered from pains no one could seem to diagnose. Bailey, stunned from George's death, was initially reluctant to help Arizona, and the nervous Chief resisted the tests she wanted because of the cost. Eventually, Arizona sent him over to Callie at her new job for the special MRI she wanted, but that didn't help either. She persevered, and it took Derek's intervention to discover a spinal problem that was resolved with surgery. Now that's grisly: A young woman came into the hospital after being in a horrible boating accident in which she lost both arms and a leg (her arms were reattached). Lexie wound up as her confidante, encouraging her to call and tell her mother about her injuries. Eventually, the patient became so discouraged about her recovery that she refused necessary surgery for a infection after asking Cristina about the risks. Bailey blamed Cristina, and eventually refused to work with her. Lexie brought her around, though, and the surgery was a success. Bailey, on the other hand, continued to struggle with her feelings. Expect a season of change on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Where things are better: Owen and Cristina were among the only people whose lives seemed to be on an upswing. Their major problem was that his therapist was encouraging them to take their relationship slowly until Owen could talk to her about some of his trauma. Once he did, they stopped moving quite so slowly. Mark and Lexie were doing well too, until Lexie realized that Mark had moved in across the hall from Callie. Callie eventually had to assure Lexie that Mark had lost all interest in her since meeting Lexie and after she did, Lexie realized that she was no longer welcome in Meredith and Derek's newlywed home, and she moved in with Mark after all. Linda Holmes is a writer in Washington. Edited by McDreaming, Sep 25 2009, 04:20 PM.
