It is worth the wait.........=) That was what I loved about it...Mer and Der were so confident in what they had and what they wanted that they were willing to give Iz the moment she created and in turn give her her beautiful day. It was their gift to her and I think everyone, for once was confident enough in that union (of Mer/Der) that they were ok in them giving her that moment....(or this Mer Der nut surely was) because it was right and I didn't miss the Mer Der wedding not happening because this one was right for Iz and Alex and I know now the Mer Der wedding is not "if" it is "when"....... |

ohh i forgot to mention, i love the glances that they gave to each other, izzie to alex, christina to hunt, callie to Arizona, mark to lexie, and mer to Der, you can see how much mer loves der. thanks for sharing shonda's blog, she's got such a gift for words, so poetic in a way.I think it's more sad to see izzie sick than the others cuz we always see izzie as a tough independent woman. so sad. I think the show will do fine if she chose to be a mean diva and walk out of the show. I can understand if the show lets her go, who wants an on/off actress who threatens to go if things don't go her way? perhaps they will give her a break so she can recover and she can focus on her movie career, perhaps that's the main reason why she wanted to leave. While it would be sad to see her go and having 2 characters of the group leave, they do have chemistry, I think the show will do j ust fine, the show has such a dynamic cast that they could extend their storyline from minor to having some. too bad they can't do a 2 hour show per week, that would help everyone have a good storyline, oh well. anyhow, most shows always have a main character/favorite character leave, so it's nothing new. But it sucks when you invest time in favoring that character. they did a great job, with hahn leaving and replacing her with Arizona, which is a way better match, and Arizona is more likable and better for Callie. It's great to see that finally Callie can lean on someone rather than her being the rock in a relationship. I only hope that if Katherine wants to stay, and the show honors it, she should stick to the commitment and not give this on/off thing. i have a feeling if she does stay, the first half of the season of next year will focus on her recovery while ellen is focused on her pregnancy |

I didn't like that episode.I'm sorry people! It's official. This show should have been called Stevens' Anatomy. I feel like Ellen and Patrick were cheated. This show has been built on their relationship and in the landmark 100th episode, Shonda gives it to Izzie. I wasn't expecting a wedding but Shonda has rewarded KH for bad behavior at the expense of EP & PD. It was supposed to be a "love letter" to us fans...Where was it then?What was the love letter?A love letter to Izzie Stevens? Where was MerDer in the episode?The 20 last seconds?Seriously?Or the "long" 10 seconds scene in the locker room postponing for once again their wedding for Izzie...The ony to scenes they had together was in the promos. For me Izzies character has ruined and consumated the hole season. TO ABC DO NOT GO PUBLIC WITH PROMISES AND TREILERS AND CREATE FAKE HOPES! |

I must admit, I'm not a huge Mer/Der fan. I like the whole cast, so I wasn't bothered about their wedding going ahead or not. Also, I don't read spoilers, or watch promos, so I'm never troubled by false hopes. Are you still going to watch the show Iben? |

 I can read spoilers all day long......look at promos, trailers...on and on and on and while Shonda ticks me off at times....I think she has all of us fairly addicted to her meandering way of going about things......She gets most things done but in her own time and in her own way....Some things she has totally gone fubar with in my opinion and I have wanted to beat her into submission more than once but the woman and her team of writers have it down and who doesn't make a mistake along the way? So for me.......I am really uncertain how she'll deal with KH but I know ultimately she will deal with her as she wishes. With the history and her mouthing off and people saying not to irk Shonda it makes me think she'll kill off Izzie without batting a lash.....but yet if she wishes to stay and Shonda wants to keep the core of the group going she has the upper hand. I think the show would go on but if George and Iz leave that will just leave me with a huge hole. So I would hope that after the IW fiasco and then the Hahn one that if she does write them off she will at least give them a departing role that is befitting of everything they have done for the show. I personally think George has so much more potential on that show than being gone. =( But I am not making the decisions. I wasn't bothered by Mer and Der not getting married.....I knew it was pretty much too good to be true....and while I get Iben feeling short changed because I felt that way a few times this season...(like with the hoopla about the merging of the episodes that one week....) I also felt that that wedding was just so NOT Mer Der...That was an Enchanted wedding to me....a Princess for the day....Mer didn't want all that but Izzie did so I was ok with that. In fact I loved it. I guess I am just finally happy that Mer and Der are strong.....and Mer is whole...and Der is back to being Der.....and yanno I know they are going to get married....but I envision it more in scrubs than the beautiful gown.......and it'll be when we least expect it but I think it will happen......lol....so it was ok with me.....and I don't think we are going to have an ugly Mer Der cliffhanger this season...which I can deal with......So I guess if giving Izze all this air time and increasing George's is her way of giving them a more proper send off then I approve......But I honestly wish it was just another step in the show...and the names all remain the same........

while i was upset for a while over Brooke leaving, i have to agree that Arizona is a better match for Callie than Erica was. I have to wonder if Erica would've been as understanding or supportive as Arizona is being with Callie. |

I love love love meredith and derek, and i'm in no rush to see them getting married, because it will happen. We have seen them both grow, we have seen them get dark and twisty, Shonda said it best, mer is a happy person who likes to give and realize it's not about her. WE know they love each othe |

WE know they love each other, it's just a matter of time to see them walk down the aisle in the way they want to do teh wedding, they were never one to be all attention is on them ina romantic way, they are subtle and want to do the wedding with meaning. Maybe they will do a wedding at derek's land, how sweet would that be since last year, meredith did the candles. I wonder what happened with the lawsuit and the house derek is biulding...i love it when they keep us hanging on this kinda stuff. |

The "Stephen's Anatomy" bit is ridiculous. Grey's Anatomy has always been about Merideth Grey and her core group of friends and their experience as residents. If I were Merideth Grey and I were planning my wedding while one of my very best friends was dying from cancer, that friend would completly take precidence in my life. Mer and Der getting married at that moment would not have been right. It wouldn't have been the wedding that the fans wanted for them. Iben you will get your Mer Der wedding...I am SURE of that. I mean for goddness sake they JUST got engaged. When has Shonda ever done things quickly with this couple??!?! Edited by McJen, May 10 2009, 05:10 AM.

Uh...never! She does things in her own time. She said she was going to give all the Mer/Der people a wedding and I believe its coming, it just wasn't meant to be on Thursday night. I did not see Mer/Der getting married in that type of setting. It's almost too fussy for them. I'm baffled that so many Mer/Der fans fell for Shonda's tricks again. I'm sure I can count on my hands how many times shes actually told the truth about what she was going to do. That's not a very good track record! And in no way will Mer/Der ever be "bookends." Please, they are the main couple on the show. |

I don't think Grey's is gone. I think it's even more amazing than ever. I didn't mind the wedding going to Izzie and Alex because it was there wedding. Izzie planned her perfect wedding not Meredith and Derek's. That wedding would have been horrible for them! They are NOT a big wedding kind of couple. Meredith doesn't believe in fairytales, so why would she want a fairytale princess wedding? Yes I want them married, no I wasn't upset that they didn't get married last week. I loved the episode and I don't get why everyone keeps calling it Stevens anatomy just because izzie has a plot right now doesn't mean it's going to turn into her show. When Addison had a plot back in parts of season 2&3 did it become Montgomery's Anatomy? or when Richard started getting all the screen time about the hospital being #12 did it become Webber's Anatomy? Just because Meredith isn't the "main center character" of a plot or storyline doesn't make "Grey's Anatomy" any less "Grey" than usual. If it was all about Meredith and Derek all the time we'd get sick of it and they would really run out of storylines. Change is good for a show it keeps it fresh and keeps it interesting. |

I am seriously just hoping this season doesn't pan out like a bad Nicholas Sparks book....Yanno his books at one time I thought were great....but he never gets out of his tired and true rut that someone has to to die in order for it to be good and with Shonda if she gives us an ounce of good we'll get a liter of bad.......she plays out about as predictable as Nicholas Sparks......which is why I no longer read his books......they love, they die, the end. Geez.....can't we have some variation???? I think since we got the wedding we'll get the death and I hope to be wrong.....I personally have had enough bleh....I like it as it is now....people are blossoming...being happy...and it is working.... |

I re-watched this episode this morning....(naw I could not sleep) and one thing I loved was that the whole sequence was really Izzies remembering it. The beginning was when it had already happened...and her voice over.....Made me cry how perfect it was......I even skipped all the other parts....I just wanted to see them again before I deleted it. |

The episode was airing today in Germany. I´m not sure whether I like it or not. I´ve resented the wedding story right from the start.This whole "Meredith and Derek are marrying but actually they do everything (church etc) for Izzie" - come on, would you get married in a way that doesn´t fit you at all? |
