Mistakes are painful, but you have to make these by your own to learn. And you are my favorite, the most common and the most painful one, sorry for everything...

Meredith heads into work and sees Derek talking to Richard she walks towards them. Derek-Hey your late. Meredith-Yeah sorry i just i was with Mark. Derek-Mark what why was he at the house are you ok. Meredith-Please don't freak out. Derek-I am freaking out Mer that was a really stupid thing to do. Meredith-What no he wouldn't ever hurt me Derek. Derek-Hurt you Mer he's broken you. Meredith-I know that you made it sound like physical hurt he would never hurt me that way. Derek-I wouldn't put anything past him. Meredith-Please Derek we just talked that's all everything is ok now. Derek-What do you mean. Meredith-We talked everything on the table. Derek-Mer. Meredith-He's finally Derek he has finally realised the bad things the mistakes the consequences and he fixed them with me anyway he still has to try with Eden. Derek-What did he say. Meredith-He promised to be good he has dropped the court case. Derek-Seriously he's dropped it. Meredith-Yes he said he only did it because he wanted to believe that it was me that stopped Eden from seeing him that it wasn't his own daughter. Derek-Mark seriously are you sure it was him. Meredith-Definetly sure Derek it was him he is genuine everything was good. Derek-Eden wil she talk to him. Meredith-I like to thing she will listen to him we can make it work Derek between us him in NY Me You Eden and our baby in Seattle i know we can. Derek-Mer Mark he's sneaky he will have a plan iv'e known him for a long time. Meredith-Not this time i know he is sincere. Derek-I'm sorry i just don't believe it. Meredith-Ok it's your view but i have to give him a chance. Derek-Why after everything he has done why the hell do you have to ive him anything. Meredith-Derek. Derek-Mer no it's out of the question i can't let you do it. Meredith-Derek i'm not asking you to let me i'm doing this. Derek-No your not Mer. Meredith-Derek i am an adult a mother i maybe your wife but you do not tell me what to do. Derek-Meredith. Meredith-No don't. Meredith turns around and walks away Derek sighs and glares at Mark who is looking on from the bridge. Mark at one time would of loved to cause tension between Meredith and Derek but after talking to Meredith and realising how much she loves Derek and how he makes her happy he can't let them row over him. Meredith heads into surgery and is just scrubbing in. Derek-Meredith can we talk. Meredith-I'm due in surgery it has to wait. Derek-Meredith i hate us fighting. Meredith-Derek your fighting not me. Derek-Meredith please. Meredith-I told you how it is it's up to you how you deal with it. Nurse-Dr Sheperd. Meredith & Derek-Yes. Nurse-Oh sorry female Dr Sheperd. Meredith giggles and although Derek is angry a smile forms on his lips. Meredith-Yes. Nurse-We are ready and prepped for you. Meredith nods. Derek-Meredith this isn't finished. Meredith-Yeah it is. Meredith walks off and Derek sighs and heads out of the OR. Later that afternoon Meredith is walking across the floor signing of her charts before heading home to pick up Eden from Bella's. Derek is stood by the bridge watching her he is to annoyed to approach her as he paged her 5 times today and she ignored every page. Mark-Derek. Derek-Don't even speak to me or look in my direction. Mark-Derek you don't have to believe it but i know my mistakes i fixed it with Meredith and i have to try and fix it with Eden. Derek-You expect me to believe it after everything you have done to Meredith. Mark-Derek you do not need to believe it because it doesn't involve you but i you need to believe that i love that woman that i would do anything to get her back. Derek-Exactly. Mark-But she doesn't want me Derek she doesn't want to be with me she loves you i finally realised that. Derek-What i know you Mark you don't change your all about yourself. Mark-I was all about myself until i realised the damage iv'e done. Meredith hasn't forgiven me Derek but in time maybe that is possible maybe you can forgive me. I know you love her and maybe you can fix what i broke and make her happy. Derek sighs but he can't fault Mark's words. Derek-I don't trust you. Mark-That's ok i can live with that Derek but understand i am Eden's father her dad but you are part of her life now iv'e accepted that. Make them happy. Mark walks away and Derek sighs but he knows Mark is right. He rushes down the stairs towards Meredith and pulls her into his arms kissing her. Derek-I hate fighting i'm sorry. Meredith-Where did this come from. Derek-I talked to Mark maybe he is sincere and i get you have to give him that chance. Meredith-Thank-you. Meredith leans into Derek's chest. Derek-I'm done you ready to go home. Meredith nods and wraps her arms around Derek's waist and they walk off. That night Eden is sat at the table doing her homework when the bell goes. Meredith-Eden it's your Dad. Eden gets up from the table and walks towards the door. Mark-Hi Baby. Eden-Hi Dad. Mark-Can we talk. Eden nods and tells Mark to follow her into the living-room. Meredith takes Derek's hand and they head into the kitchen. Mark sits on the sofa and Eden sits in the chair. Mark-Hi Baby. Eden-Hi Dad. Mark-If i said i was sorry do you believe me. Eden-What are you sorry for Dad. Mark-My mistakes hurting your Mom hurting you leaving when you needed me the most. Leaving you when you were in hospital was a terrible thing to do and i am so sorry. Eden sighs and moves towards her Dad. Mark-Baby i know i screwed up so badly and i have no reason for doing it but i know it was wrong. Eden-Finally. Mark-I'm sorry. Ede-Dad you were a bad man and you blamed Mom you always blamed her but she was never wrong. Mark-I know i talked to Mom today we aren't exactly the best of friends but she knows i'm sorry for hurting her. Eden-Mom never said. Mark-I asked her to give me a chance not that i deserved it but she agreed and we are on the road. Eden-What about the court-case. Mark-Dropped i knew i would never win. Eden-Why did you do it. Mark-Because i didn't want to believe that you hated me that you didn't want to see me. Eden-Dad i love you i just i was angry with you. Mark-Are you still angry with me. Eden-Not really but you have to make Grandmother Imelia go back to NY Dad she scares me and i don't like her. Mark-She has already gone babe. Eden-Really. Mark-Really i finally stood up to her i told her everything i did that i wasn't the innocent man she believed i was that i destroyed my family. Eden wraps her arms around her Dad and he holds her close something he has missed so much in the last month. Eden-I know i will be living here but holidays weekends i will come home and see you. Mark-If i was to say that i was going to move here how would you take that. Eden-Move here to Seattle. Mark-Eden your my baby i want to be in your life. Eden-What about Mom & Derek. Mark-I won't interfer in their marriage babe your mom she loves Derek he makes her happy you are all that matters to me. Eden-Where would you live. Mark-Iv'e found a 2 bedroom apartment by Elliott Bay i'll decorate a bedroom for you. I know this is your home but you can have 2 homes 2 families i know we can make it work. Eden-Dad. Mark-Yes. Eden-I love you. Mark-I love you more than you will ever know my baby girl. Mark hugs Eden to him so happy to finally have his baby girl back. Derek and Meredith at first are not sure on Mark moving to Seattle but they agree it's the best thing for Eden. Mark is true to his word and doesn't ever interfer in their marriage but is there whenever Eden needs him she stays at his most weekends and sometimes in the week. Meredith and Derek's marriage goes from strength to strength and it finally sealed when Meredith gives birth to their daughter who they call Piper-Louise Sheperd. Eden is the doting big sister who absouetly adores her baby sister. Meredith finally got her happy ending her fairytale. Thanks for reading hope you enjoyed it. Natalie xx |
