Meredith: Seriously. Cristina: If Sloan is McSteamy, he's McKillMeNowBecauseI'mAlreadyInHeaven [Izzie walks over] Izzie: Hey guys. Meredith: Hey, Iz. Izzie: What are you guys doing? Cristina: Oh, Meredith is checking out the new guy. Meredith: Cristina! You're the one who's in bun-heaven. Cristina: He has a nice butt. Izzie: (looking at him) That's George's intern. Cristina: That's George's intern? Izzie: Yeah. He's really nice. And smart. I heard he graduated top of his class. Cristina: Ooh. Meredith: Great. Just what we need. Two medical geniuses with a superiority complex. Cristina: I do not have a superiority complex. I just happen to know that I'm better. Besides, he's an intern. It's not like we're gonna be hanging out with him. (after a moment) He cannot be Bambi's intern. Izzie: Yeah, well, he is. Cristina: Way to kill the mood. Fun-sucker. Izzie: I resent that. I am not a fun-sucker. Meredith and Cristina: Enh. Izzie: What - what is that supposed to mean? Meredith and Cristina: Nothing. [the intern bends over to pick up something; Meredith, Cristina, and Izzie all lean to the side to get a better look] Izzie: (standing back up) Well, you guys have fun checking out George's intern. I'm gonna go to the clinic. My clinic. Mine. Cristina: (not looking away from the intern) Uh-huh. You have fun with that. Izzie: (whispering and pointing at her chest) Mine. Meredith: Later, Iz. (Izzie leaves) I have to go find Derek. Cristina: (still not looking away) Uh-huh. (waving her hand carelessly) Bye. (Meredith leaves) [Erica walks past] Erica: Shouldn't you be working, Yang? Unless of course you want to stay a resident forever. Cristina: Um, yes, I'm getting to it right now, Dr. Hahn. Mark walks past Erica and Callie talking Mark: Morning, ladies. Erica and Callie: Morning. Mark: How was your night? Erica: It was (clears throat) - Callie: Good. (Erica and her laugh and start to walk off) Mark: (laughing) Yeah, see I get it this time! Erica: (turning around) I'm not so sure you do! [Callie and her continue walking, laughing] Callie: I'm pretty sure he thinks he does. Erica: That's because he's Sloan. He thinks he knows everything. Callie: Not really. He just has a dirty mind. Erica: Look who's talking. Callie: Right, like you have any room to talk either. [they laugh, and head down the hall] Izzie walks into the clinic, which is empty except for Olivia Izzie: Where is everyone?? I paged my interns ten minutes ago, they should be here by now. Unless they want to do charting and grunt work all day. Olivia: Wow. Izzie: What? Olivia: I've just never seen you so - Izzie: Determined? Olivia: Not exactly the word I had in mind. Izzie; Well, it's my first day running the clinic alone. My clinic. And I want it to be good. And where are the patients? We always have patients. Bailey walks past the Chief in the hall Chief: Dr. Bailey. Bailey: Yes, Chief? Chief: You have some paperwork to fill out on the clinic. Bailey: It's not my clinic anymore. It belongs to Stevens now. Chief: Why wasn't I told about this before? Bailey: You were busy. And I was busy, trying to be Chief Resident and a surgeon. Chief: Which reminds me, I still need the schedule. Bailey: It's upstairs. Chief: You mean it's done? Bailey: Don't look so surprised. After all, I am Dr. Bailey. Chief: Yes, you are. Get it to me. Soon. Bailey: Yes, sir. (she walks away) Meredith walks down the hall, past Alex, sitting on a hospital bed Meredith: Hey. Have you seen Derek anywhere? Alex: No. Meredith: What are you doing? Alex: Avoiding Iz - my interns. Meredith: You said Iz. You were going to say Izzie. Alex: No I wasn't. Meredith: Why are you avoiding Izzie? Alex: I just am. Meredith: Do you wanna talk about it? Alex: Not really. Meredith: If you change your mind - Alex: I won't. Meredith: Well, if you see Derek, can you tell him I'm looking for him? Alex: Whatever. Erica, George, and Callie waiting for trauma patients to come in. Callie: You have a trauma coming in? Erica: Yep. You? Callie: Yeah. Erica: O'Malley's my resident today. First surgery since he became one. George: Yep. Yep. My first resident surgery. Mm-hmmm. [Erica raises her brows at him] Erica: Is he okay? (Callie shrugs) [ambulance pulls up, and opens doors] Erica: All right what have we got? EMT: Heart attack. The patient is a car accident victim. He crashed his car right in the middle of the highway. Luckily, he didn't hit anyone else. And he's got at least one broken leg, bones are sticking right out. Erica: Guess this one's both of ours. All right, let's get him inside. (they push him into the ER) Callie: He's having difficulty breathing. I'm gonna need a chest x-ray, make sure his ribs aren't broken. Erica: All right. O'Malley, we're gonna need blood samples and an EKG. Can you take him to x-rays for Dr. Torres after that? [Callie and Erica leave] Cristina and Meredith are at a nurses' station Meredith: Derek's avoiding me. Cristina: Our lives are screwed up. What else is new? Meredith: But I got better. I was all screwed up and he couldn't get enough of me, and now I'm all whole and I can't find him anywhere. He's avoiding me. [George's intern walks by, and Cristina turns away from him] Meredith: Speaking of avoiding. Do you like George's intern? Cristina: No. He's an intern. I dont like interns. [Izzie walks over] Izzie: Hey guys. What's going on? [Cristina glances back and sees George's intern is still nearby and turns back] Izzie:: Why are you acting weird? Cristina: What? I - I'm not acting weird. Izzie: Yes you are. Meredith: She has a crush on George's intern. Cristina: I do not have a crush on George's intern. Izzie: Ooh, really? Cuz - cuz, you know, if you do - I know him. I could go talk to him for you. Cristina: Oh please. You are the last person that I would ask for help. Izzie: That hurt. Maybe I'll just go talk to him anyway. You know, see if he likes asian girls. Cristina: You wouldn't. Izzie: Oh, wouldnt I? Maybe not now... but maybe later... ooh. (she walks away) Cristina: She's not gonna do it. Meredith: We all thought she wouldn't cut Denny's LVAD wire and sleep with a married guy, but she did. Cristina: Damn it. (she leaves) [Alex walks over] Alex: Where's Cristina going? Meredith: To talk to Izzie. Alex: Why? Meredith: To stop her from telling her non-crush that she likes him. Are you still avoiding her? [Alex doesn't respond] Meredith: Alex! Why are you avoiding Izzie? Did something happen? Alex: No. Have you seen Sloan? Meredith: No. Have you seen Derek? Alex: No. Izzie walks into the clinic [Cristina runs after her] Cristina: Izzie! Hey, Izzie! Izzie: (wryly) Yes? Cristina: You're not really - Izzie: Don't worry, I won't tell him. Hey, um, interesting thing - Ca- Dr. Torres needs me to be her resident today. Cristina: You? Why you? Izzie: I don't know. You think she could be up to something? Cristina: No. She's totally over Bambi. Izzie: How do you know? Cristina: Uh, no - no reason. I just do. Well, I guess I could watch the clinic for you during surgery if you want. Izzie: Why would you do that? Cristina: Because Hahn pushed me off surgery with her today and is letting George be her resident. And, I want you to, you know, know that, we're, uh, friends, and I - I want to do something nice for you. Izzie: Riight. What do you want? Cristina: Nothing. Izzie: You want me to talk to him, don't you? Cristina: Okay, maybe a little. Izzie: Okay. Cristina: Really? Izzie: Yeah. Cristina: Just - just be discreet, okay? Wait, can you even do discreet? Izzie: Oh, please. Discreet is a walk in the park for Izzie Stevens. Cristina: Yeah, right. Izzie: Okay, fine, then I won't talk to him. Cristina: Seriously? You're just going to let it go? Just like that? Izzie: Yeah. You still gonna watch the clinic for me later? Cristina: Watch what? There's nobody here. Mark is looking at the surgical board [Alex walks over to him] Alex: Dr. Sloan. I was wondering if you might need a resident today. Mark: As a matter of fact, I do, Karev. I have a reconstructive burn surgery scheduled for later today. Are you wanting to scrub in? Alex: Yes. Mark: (hands Alex a 3-ring notebook) Have fun. Erica is in the hall and George walks up to her Erica: O'Malley. George: Dr. Hahn. I've got the patient's labwork. [Callie walks over] Erica: (taking folder from him) Good. George: And I've got his x-rays for Dr. Torres. (hands them to her) Callie: (walking into x-ray light room and putting films up) Okay. He's got three cracked ribs, a broken leg, and (looking closer) - what is that? Erica: A bone from his rib cage is lodged is in his heart. We're gonna have to do surgery as soon as possible. Cristina is back at the nurses' station [Meredith walks over, sighing] Cristina: Still can't find Derek? Meredith: No, I did. Cristina: Is he still avoiding you? Meredith: Yep. Cristina: Aren't you guys supposed to be doing your whole brain tumor shrinkage thing? Meredith: Yep. Erica, Callie, Dr. Bailey, George, Izzie, and Lexie are in OR1, and are about to operate Erica: Okay, people, let's get to work. Scalpel. (the surgical nursing assistant hands her a ten blade) [she cuts open his chest, opening it until she reaches the heart] Erica: All right, let's see if we can get this bone out without puncturing his aorta. (pulls bone out of his chest) There it is. Came out nice and clean. (places it in bowl) Dr. Torres. Callie: (taking bowl from nurse) Should heal nicely once I get the rib belt in. Erica: Okay, let's - (blood suddenly spurts onto her). There it goes. Nurse: BP's dropping. Erica: Clamp. (she puts the clamps on his heart, stopping the bleeding) Let's get him a graft. George: There's more bleeding, Dr. Hahn. Erica: (looking) His mitral valve has a tear. Let's get that taken care of before his heart stops, and get him up on bypass. Good eye, O'Malley. (clamps vessel, and detatches an artery from his chest wall) Would you like to attach it to his coronary, O'Malley? (hands him the clamps) [he does so] Erica: Nicely done. ** Cristina is in the clinic Cristina: This is boring. I had to send off all of mine and Izzie's interns because there is no one here. Olivia: Interesting. Cristina: What? Olivia: Nothing. (Cristina looks at her) It's just - interesting. Today is Dr. Stevens' first day in charge of the clinic, and there's no one here. It's just - interesting.
	Brooke: [on how she prepared for Erica falling for Callie] It's not rocket science! She's hot! Brooke: That was a nice segue...did you see that one coming? - I've heard about them. My niece does the google alert thing - ... Yeah - the Callica youtube videos and stuff like that.... Yes, the kiss over and over and over and over - yes, to that song I kissed a girl and I liked it...You know all that. Yeah, mhmm.
