Yes...... i miss this fic and right now at this point in my life i would like to see this fic come back so that i could once again have those 10 minutes of your update where i could just stop thinking about what is going on in my real life. |

Well Jess I will start to post once again on here.. I do hope that I get more readers becuase as you know its hard to keep posting when you dont have comments to read... A few weeks had passed since Sarah's cough... A cough that went all around the Shepherd house. 1st Steven got it then he passed it to his brother and of course Shawn wanted to share with his little sister. Meredith was grateful that they had Tess but the day Tess could not even get out of bed she had to call in sick. Lucky for her, she had a boss that was really understanding. It was the end of May. the chief was leaving in a few days and tomorrow Susan and Ted were becoming man and wife. Derek and Meredith had spent the last few days working with Sarah and the boys on walking down the aisle. Sarah and Sammie practiced walking down the aisle dropping the flower petals. Meredith knew Sarah had the job down pat but Sammie, she knew she was going to be a problem. She even called Susan to make sure she did not want to change her mind about having Sammie in the wedding. Susan said that things would be fine. The boys on the other hand had surprised Meredith. They both showed her how grown up there were by walking down the aisle with the little pillows that carried the rings and standing still while Derek and Meredith pretended to get married. The kids giggled every time Tess had said 'you may now kiss the bride.' Derek would take Meredith in his arms and kiss her. Sarah just covered her eyes and giggled. "Ewww gross mommy you are kissing daddy." Derek stopped kissing Meredith. He picked his daughter up and gave her raspberries on her tummy. "You think kissing me is gross." Sarah just pushed him away. "Stop daddy help me guys." That is all it took as Derek's kids started the dog pile on their daddy. Once Meredith got the kids clamed down it would start all over. Meredith had mixed feelings about the day coming. She loved the family time they had at their pretend wedding but she also knew that there would be the next thing that came up so they would have the same quality time with her kids. The article came out in Medical Today a few weeks ago and every since there were magazines calling him every few days to find out if they could do an article on him. Sarah was so proud of her daddy she even asked if she could take the magazine to school with her to show all of her friends. Dave and Deb along with Weiss and Savvy from New York had called and told him how happy they were of him. But one of the biggest shocks was when Sam had called from LA to say he just read about him becoming chief. Derek talked to Sam for hours that night. He could not believe long it had been since he had talked to him. He had no idea that Sam and Naomi were Divorced and Sam did not know that him and Addie were no longer married, or that Derek was remarried with four kids. Derek found out all about his private practice in LA and he told Sam all about working at in a top teaching hospital in Seattle and the joys of raising four kids. It was after 10 PM when Derek got off the phone with Sam. He felt bad because he had left Meredith to get all four kids to bed. He locked up downstairs then headed to find his wife, He found her in bed reading the Medical Today magazine. He got ready for bed and crawled in next to her, He gave her a kiss on the top of the head. "I am sorry about leaving you to take care of the kids." Meredith put the magazine down and cuddled up next to him. "It's ok I understand you have not talked to Sam in years." Derek shook his head, "I cant believe its been that long." Then he let out a sigh. "You know when we were in collage to I thought we would always be as close as we were then, but now I mean I can't even remember the things we did together." He kissed the top of her head. "It's like they were part of another life but not mine." Meredith ran her hands though the hairs on his chest. "I know what you mean. I was that way with Stacey and when I left collage I did not see Stacey again until the conference just a few months ago. I thought when the conference was over I would miss Stacey but as you said... She was a part of another life I don't have anymore. A life that I don't even miss anymore." Derek pulled her into his arms. "I love you Meredith. I know I don't say that enough but I really do." Meredith got tears in her eyes. "I love you too Derek and you might not say it everyday but you show it in everything you do for me. It's me that I don't say it enough to you. I really don't know what I would do without you in my life." Derek rolled over on top of her. He lowered his body on her and the kissing began. "That my love you will never have to worry about you are kind of stuck with me for life." They made love that night over and over again until they both collapsed. As Meredith laid there in her husband arms she could never get over how safe he made her feel as nothing could ever come between them. Derek loved holding her and waiting to fall asleep to hear the sweet sounds of her snoring. As soon as he heard her snoring he kissed the top of her head. "Good night my love. I love you." Meredith mumbled in her sleep "Love you too." Derek pulled her closer to him and closed his eyes. It was not long before he was dreaming... |

I just got back on and saw that you had posted. i do want you to post an update because i love this fic. i havent been on the past few days because i just found out that im pregnant with twin girls and i havent got my finace around to help me because some idiot drunk driver killed him 4 months ago. so this fic is helping me forget about it foir a few minutes when i get on here. so i will comment when i read its just i havent been able to pull myself out of this hole i seem to be in for a few days. im sorry i havent commented since you posted this one but i will from this point onards i promise. i love the fact that they had fake weddings with the kids haha. sarah still holds my heart as she always has. i liek the sam bit i really do although i am wondering if we hear from him again? i love that Mer told him how she felt about him this time. |

Derek and Meredith were woken up the next morning by the sounds of pitter patter of little feet running down the hall. Meredith looked over at Derek as her rubbed his eyes. "Ahh the joys of parenthood." Derek yawned then gave her a quick kiss. "At least we are partly dressed." Meredith nodded her head. The last time Sarah caught them in bed with no clothes on they had came to the conclusion that they either had to lock their bedroom door at night or before they fell asleep put something on. Even if it was a pair of boxers for him and a top for her. She cuddled up closer to him as the door flew open. They looked up and saw three of the brightest smiles.. Sarah made it to them first.. Jumping on the bed "Come on its a wedding day." Derek just laughed. Soon Steven and Shawn were climbing up on the bed on their mommy's side.. "Let's go see Grandma Susan and Aunt Molly." Meredith helped them on the bed. "Guys its still hours before Grandma Susan and Mr Ted get married." Sarah very seriously looked over at her mother. "But mommy we still have to take shower do our hair and get dressed...It's going to take hours..." Meredith shook her head... "Well I don't think its going to take that long but what do you say you and your brothers go and get some play clothes on for now and after breakfast we will take showers." Once the kids were gone Meredith went back to cuddling her husband.."I don't want to get up its warm in here." He gave her a kiss. "Take a shower with me." Meredith shook her head. She tried to get up.."No Derek no time we have a lot to do today." Derek pulled her back into his arms.. "Please!!" Meredith gave him a kiss.. "Not today but maybe when we get home.. and the kids are in bed... a bath.. you and me..." Derek just smiled... Showers with his wife was fun but he loved bath time.. Because they were always so rushed for time they did not get bath time that often.."Fine but you promise me bath time tonight.." Meredith got up and walked over to start getting dressed.."I promise now get your ass out of bed." Derek did what he was told. Derek took his shower.. As he was drying off he thought how he was going to tell his wife he needed to go to the hospital at least for a few hours... He knew she was not going to be happy but after all she was the one just telling her children that it was hours before they needed to get ready for the wedding... Derek got dressed and was putting on his work shoes.. Meredith watched him tie them, she put her hands on her hips ..."And where do you think you are going?" Derek took in a big breath and stood up.. He put his arms around her waist... "Meredith I have to go in... " She pulled away from him..."No Derek...Not today.." He tried to pull her back into him but she just pulled away..."It's my fake mommy's wedding day... You are walking her down the aisle." Derek just looked at her.."I know baby and I will be there..I promise... It's just I have some paper work to do today that I did not get done yesterday...It's due to the board first thing in the morning...If I don't go in this morning I will have to go in after the wedding... Then we can't have that bath you promised me. I promise to be there...As you told the kids its hours before the wedding." Meredith shook her head... She knew he would not go in unless it was really necessary... He could see the disappointment on her face. He pulled into his arms. This time she did not pull away but she put her arms around his waist. He took in the smell of lavender... "I am sorry... You know I would not do this to you." She playfully hit his chest.."If you knew you had to have this done by today why did not get it done last night before we left." He thought back to last night. She had came into his office and with one simple kiss they were going at it like teenagers at the prom. He laughed... "Why didn't I get it done last night you ask... If I recall right I think someone came into my office rather hot and horny ... She had her way with me and well after we did what we did there was no way I could think about work...." She looked up at him... "Oh no don't try to blame this one on me.... It was your tongue that did things to me. You know what your tongue does to me... You started it." He did not let her finish.... He simply started to kiss her... He reached between her legs..."My god you are so wet..." Her mind was racing... How she just wanted to take him right there and then but... She pulled away... Breathing heavily ..."Derek we can't".... He knew she was right but that did not mean he did not want to hold her. He tried to pull her into his arms she just shook her head.. "Derek the kids they are awake they could come in here any second and as much as I like what we were about to do...I think it would scar them for life if they saw their mommy and daddy having sex... beside if you want to go to the hospital you have to go now so you wont be late." Derek ran his fingers though his hair.."I wont be late." As he was putting on his jacket they heard Sammie starting to cry. Meredith looked at him.. "And you are going to take her with you." He looked at her.."Why?" Meredith folded her arms across her chest. "Because Derek for one I have a lot to do.. I told Susan I would be at the church early so we could do one more walk though with the kids... "I am not worried about Sammie..I know as soon as she see everyone looking at her she is going to freak out and someone is going to have to get her, but the boys they have a chance. And beside if you take her I know you wont be late..' He shook his head... "I wont be late... trust me..." Sammie was not sure if she liked not being left in her crib... She started crying louder and louder.. Derek gave her one more kiss then headed to get his daughter... As soon as Sammie saw her daddy she smiled and reached up for him.. "Daddy!!!" Derek could not but smile himself when he saw his daughter reach up for him.. He went over to her crib and picked her up and gave her a kiss.."Good morning Sweet Pea." Sammie just put her arms around him.. "Daddy!!!" With another kiss her laid her down to change her diaper..."Yep I am your daddy and I love you... " Sammie reached up and grabbed his nose.."Love you." Derek could not believe how big Sammie was getting... She was no longer a baby... She was a real person with real feelings... As he got her dressed he talked to her.."You know what we are going to do today?" Sammie just looked at him trying to understand what he was saying... "Mommy!!!" Derek shook his head.."Nope today is daddy and Sammie day... Daddy has to go to work of a little bit and Sammie gets to go with him then we are going to the church so Grandma Susan can get married to Mr Ted." Sammie was not sure if she like not hearing her mommy's name... She started to cry..."Mommy!!" Derek just picked her up..."Mommy is getting dressed you want to go see her?" Now that was something Sammie understood and now that she had on a clean diaper and was dressed Derek let her go... "Go on go find mommy." Sammie took off running. As Sammie was finding her mommy Derek went to say good-bye to Sarah and the boys. When Derek told Steven and Shawn he was going to work they said they wanted to go so they could play with Maddie and Timmy.. Derek told him that he was sorry but they had to stay home with mommy so they could go to the church and practice one more time for the wedding... As Derek talked to the boys about the wedding Sammie found her mommy.. She ran into their room and ran into her arms.. "Mommy!!!' Meredith put down the brush and picked her little girl up. "Hey Sammie don't you look pretty.. Daddy did a good job getting you dressed..." Sammie smiled and pointed to her shirt.. "Tammie pewwity..." Meredith just gave her a kiss..."That's right Sammie is very pretty." Mother and daughter talked for a few minutes.. As Derek came back in the room her heard Meredith say to his daughter.."Now Sammie you have to make sure daddy is not late to Grandma Susan's wedding." Sammie shook her head..."No wate." Meredith just laughed... "Good job." Derek came over and picked up his daughter. He shook his head.. "I can't believe that you don't trust me not to be late and you had to tell our daughter to watch me.." Meredith just looked at him. "Derek seriously you can't leave the hospital later than 1:00 the wedding is at 4 but they are going to start taking pictures at 2:30 of everyone getting ready and I want our daughter in those pictures to you hear me.." He gave her one more kiss... "I'll be there...don't worry." and with one more kiss he was out the door and heading to the hospital. He knew that he had at least 3 hours of work ahead of him and if there was any problem that stood in his way he would be in trouble because there was no way in hell he was going to be late for that wedding. This was the 1st time he had to go to work when there was something important going on with his family and if he was late he knew his wife would kill him. Meredith was worried that somehow Derek would get busy doing something and forget about the time, she was not taking any chances... Not today, she picked up the phone and called Ryanne. She was hoping that she would already be there and on the 3 ring when she answered she smile... "Ryanne this is Mrs Shepherd." Ryanne just smiled. She had only been working for Dr Shepherd a few weeks but had already grown to love his family. "Well Mrs Shepherd how are you?' Meredith told her what was going on and that she needed her help. She told her not to worry that she would make sure he was out of the hospital by one. Meredith thanked her and said that if he gave her any problems and would not leave to call her and she would call the day care and tell them that she was sending her down to there and it was ok for her to pick Sammie up and take her to Derek. Ryanne laughed. "Good thinking." Meredith smiled... "That is one reason I had him take her. I know he knows I would kill him if he made his daughter late for her Grandmothers wedding.." Meredith thanked her one more time then said she was sorry but she had to get the other kids downstairs so they could have breakfast. Tess was already in action when they came downstairs. Meredith asked Sarah and the boys to go play in the playroom while she helped Tess get breakfast ready. With the kids playing Meredith asked Tess if there was anything she could do. Tess knew Meredith wanted to start learning to cook and breakfast were one of the easiest meals to do. She handed Meredith the eggs... "Lets start with scramble eggs..." Meredith took a deep breath, she could do this....She had watched Derek and Tess a million times... and how tough could it be to crack eggs and mix them around in a bowl. Tess watched. The first egg she cracked and tiny little peices fell into the bowl with the egg. Meredith and Tess laughed. "I can do this I know I can... I mean seriously I cut into a person brain all time... How hard can this be." Tess shook her head.."Here let me show you." She showed Meredith how to crack the egg without getting the shell in the mixture. Once again Meredith tried. She was not going to give up... By the 3rd egg she got it... Next was the scrambling part. That was easy... Now for the hard part... The actually cooking part... Tess stood beside her the whole time... But just then she heard someone come into the kitchen. Tess knew Meredith wanted to keep this between themselves she quickly took the spoon from Meredith "Ok thanks for the help Mrs S but I think I have it now.." Sarah just looked at her mommy... "You're cooking mommy?" Meredith could not help feel sorry for herself... She felt bad that even her 5 year old daughter knew she did not cook. "No baby I was just holding the spoon for Nana Tess while she got the milk out of the refrigerator. Sarah was smart. She knew something was not right.. She shook her head.... "But Nana Tess was right behind you not in the refrigerator." Meredith did not like lying to her kids but if Sarah knew what was really going on the whole house would know. "Sarah really I was just holding the spoon for Nana Tess....Now why don't you get your brothers and go upstairs to wash your hands, breakfast is almost ready." Sarah still not sure of what was going on but she did as she was told only because it meant that she got to tell her brothers what to do. As she ran back into the playroom Meredith could hear her talk to her brothers. "Come on guys mommy wants me to take you upstairs and help you wash your hands because you are to little to do it yourself." Meredith shook her head. "Seriously I did not tell her to say it like that." Tess just laughed. "It got her mind on something else." Meredith looked over at Tess. "But I don't like lying to them." Tess told her that little white lies won't hurt them. Meredith giggled. "Now just remind Derek of that the first time Sarah tells a little white lie to get out of trouble because she went over to a boy's house and not over to a friend's house like she said she was going to and she looks up at her dad and says... "But Daddy I said I was going to a friend's house." " Both Tess and Meredith laughed.. "I would hate to be that boy because I think Mr S will kill him." Meredith just nodded her head. They went back to having Meredith cook the eggs and before she knew it they were done. Meredith had done it... Before she knew it not only was Tess showing her how to cook the eggs but she was handing her the bacon and before she knew it she had cooked breakfast for her kids. Meredith could not believe she was setting the food on the table. The food she cooked for her family... Tess just laughed. "Well don't we just have little ms Susie home maker on our hands." By now the kids were back downstairs. Meredith told the kids to sit down so they could eat. As they had breakfast all Sarah could do was talk about the wedding how she could not wait for her and Sammie to get all dressed up. After breakfast was over Tess said she would clean up so Meredith could take the kids upstairs and get them in the bath. Sarah asked if she could take a shower by herself. Meredith said it was ok if she would like Nan Tess come in and help wash her hair. At first Sarah said she could do it herself Meredith said they only way for her to take a shower alone would be if she let someone help with her hair. Sarah knew she was not going to win so she just put her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes.. "Fine Nana Tess can help me... but just my hair, I can do the rest by myself." Everyone headed upstairs to get cleaned up... Once the baths were done they headed to the church. Susan wanted everyone there for one last practice. She was hoping to get it done last night but Ted sons and grandsons could not get there until this morning so everything was put off tell today. Because this was both of their second marriages neither one worried about the traditions like not seeing the bride before the wedding or not seeing the bride in her wedding dress before she walked down the aisle. When Susan saw Meredith without Derek or Sammie she started to panic... "Meredith Derek!!! Where is Derek?... He is coming right?... He knows he is walking me down the aisle and giving me away and Sammie is everything ok with Sammie?" Meredith just gave her a hug... "Everything is fine. Derek he just had some last minute paper work to do. He took Sammie with him to work. He will be here in a little bit." Susan calmed down just a bit, "Oh that is good...Well come on over here I want you to meet Ted sons and grandson." Susan told Sarah and the boys that Laura was down the hall playing with some of her toys and they could go find her. Sarah looked up to her mother for permission. Meredith just nodded.. "You can go just keep an eye on your brothers and mommy will be right there." Tess said she would watch out for them. Meredith thanked her and then went with Susan to meet Ted's family. Susan first introduced Meredith to Ted's son. "Brad and Dane I would like you to meet Meredith my..." She looked over at Meredith after all this time she still was not sure what to call Meredith since Thatcher had passed away... Meredith could tell Susan was not for sure what to say.. Over the years she tried to think of Susan as a mother but to be honest they never really got that close and whenever she talked about her to Derek or her friends she always called her, her fake mommy, but that did not seem appropriate at this moment. "Stepdaughter. Hi. I am Meredith Shepherd Its so nice to meet the two of you." Both Brad and Dane had put their hands out to shake Meredith's hand. Ted oldest son went first. "Susan has told us so much about you. It's finally nice to meet you." Now it was Dane's turn. He did not just go for a hand shake he went in for a hug. Being nice Meredith hugged him back. Running his hands up and down her back Dane said "Well I guess we should say welcome to the family." Ted cleared his throat, knowing his single son he knew what he was thinking. "Meredith were is Derek and the kids?" Pulling away from Meredith Dane just glared at his father. Mereidth was glad that Ted had asked about her husband.. "Well Sarah and the boys are off trying to find Laura and Sammie is with her daddy at the hospital... They will be her shortly." Dane trying to be the smooth talker he was put his hand on Meredith shoulder.. "Hospital I hope everything is ok." Susan rolled her eyes. Ted had warned her that his son was a flirt... That was why he had been married and divorced so many times. She simply shook her head. "Oh no everything is fine remember Dane I told you that Meredith husband is the chief of surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital, now Meredith this is Brad two sons... " She ruffled the first little boy's hair.. "This is Robert." Then she ruffled the next little boys hair. "And this little guy is Michael." You could tell Michael hated to be called little... So much like her daughter. She bent down to their level. " Well hello, its nice to meet you." Both boy's smiled. Meredith shook their hands. "Now how old are you?" Robert being the oldest spoke first. "I am 9 and this is my brother he is 8.' Just then Brads wife Terri came over. Susan introduced her to Meredith this time not hesitating calling Meredith her stepdaughter. The two women talked for a little bit then Michael tugged on his mother shirt..'Mom do we need to stand here its boring." Meredith told Terri that her kids were in the hall playing with Laura and maybe they could go play with them. Terri told the boys to go see if they could find Laura and they could play until it was time to practice for the last time. For about the next 20 minutes Meredith spent time with Terri getting to know her. Susan said that Terri came up with the idea that when Derek walks her down the aisle instead of setting down it might be a good idea of he stood behind the boys just in case they started to act up he would be right there to take care of them. Meredith just laughed.. "You see she is a smart person but the thing is its not if they start acting up its when.. I know my sons and they won't be able to stand still for more than five minutes, so that is a good idea.. I am sure Derek will be ok with it." It was not 12 PM They had the last practice then Terri had made some sandwiches for lunch. By 1:30 Derek had not called she was getting a little worried, She wanted to trust her husband but this was to big for him to mess up on so she called Ryanne. Ryanne told her not to worry that Derek had left about 10 minutes ago to get Sammie and he should be there shortly. Finally it was time to get ready but still no Derek. She called him but his phone went right to voice mail.. She was not going to get mad.. No she just went about getting the kids ready and by the time she stated getting Steven dressed Derek showed up.. Meredith went over to him and gave him a kiss.. He gave her a peck on the cheek. I am sorry I am late there was a accident on the freeway.. I am just glad the ambulance was there or I would have had to stop." Meredith just took in a huge breath. "It's ok You're here now and that is what is important. Now you can help get your sons dressed and I will go she Sammie and Sarah dressed " He gave her one more kiss.. "Thanks for understanding." Meredith just smiled then before he left she told him that he was going to stand with his sons instead of sitting down. Derek said he thought that was a great idea and was surprised that no one thought of it sooner because he knew it would help when they started pushing each other. Now with everyone dressed it was time to take pictures .. Susan really did look beautiful and Ted never took his eyes off her. Meredith could tell how much Ted loved Susan. And Susan she could not remember the last time she looked this happy... Taking pictures was a major act .. Meredith was glad Tess was there to help. With so many kids and them not wanting to stand still... Meredith thought for sure Susan was going to change her mind but she said she would not want this day any other way... So an hour later with all the pictures taken and the guest started to show up Susan and the girls went inside. As 4 pm came closer Molly could tell Susan was a little nervous, she went over and sat next to her mother and put her hand on hers.. "You ok mom?" With tears in her eyes Susan just nodded.. "I am its just I hope your father is ok with this." Now it was time that Molly got tears in her eyes.."I am sure he is, he is up in heaven right now with Lexie beside him watching you on one of your happiest days for your life since he passed away. He always wanted you to be happy." Susan wiped the tears away before it could ruin her make up. " I am happy and you are ok with this right. You like Ted right." Molly gave her mother a hug. "Oh course I do. Would I be standing beside you if I thought for one second Ted was not the right choice?" There was a knock at the door.. Meredith went to answer it... Derek poked his head inside.. Well I was told to come and get you guys... Meredith took a deep breath.. This was it.. She knew Sammie was not going to make it but she wanted to see if all the practice that they did paid off and her sons would actually make it though the wedding. haha i love the fact that derek made it on time i was worried that he wouldnt. The twins are so cute. I am worried about what is going to happen when i have my twins lol. |

The wedding started.....Steven and Shawn were the first two to walk down the aisle. Everyone ooo's and ah's over them... Shawn being Shawn waved at everyone and that got people laughing.. Steven looked like he wanted to run. Shawn looked at his brother. "This is fun right Steven?" Steven just looked straight ahead not saying anything. Then he saw Nana Tess. She waved for them to keep walking. Seeing a familiar face seemed to help. Steven got a smile on his face and made it to the end of the aisle. As soon as they got to Ted he smiled and let the boys know where to stand... so far so good... Molly then went... Next it was time for Meredith to leave. She knew this was going to be the start of it... She told Sammie to stay with daddy but as soon as she stepped away the tears started...Derek said she would be fine... Meredith walked down the aisle as Derek comforted his daughter.. Derek was right.. As soon as she was in her daddy's arms she was ok... After a few seconds of crying Derek put her down...She seemed ok at this point... Once Meredith reached the end of the aisle it was Laura's turn. The ooo's and ah's started once again... Laura did a great job, she looked so grown up walking so tall. She made it down to the end of the aisle No problem ..... Next was the big one Derek told Sammie to take her sisters hand and go find Mommy. They made about 4 steps down the aisle and the the ooo's and ah's started... Sammie let go of Sarah's hand and started looking for her mommy... The tears started. "Mommy!!!" Everyone started to laugh... Meredith started to go get her when Tess stood up and told Meredith she would go get her... The whole time Sarah was trying to hold Sammie's hand. "Come on Sammie its ok..." But Sammie was not having any of it... She swatted at her big sisters hand "No mommy!!!" By this time Tess got to Sammie and picked her up... As soon as Sammie was in Tess' arm she put her thumb in her mouth and hid her face... Tess told Sarah to go ahead and walk down the aisle and she would take care of Sammie. By this time the giggling had stopped and Sarah made it down to the end of the aisle dropping the little flowers along the way just like she had practiced so many times before... Once Sarah made it to the end of the aisle she stood beside her mother... The wedding march started and everyone stood up... Derek looked over to Susan. "Are you ready for this?" Susan simply just nodded. Derek gave her a quick peck on the check... "Let's go get you married." As they walked down the aisle Meredith could not take her eyes off her husband. She could not get over how good looking his was and being in a tux made her want him all that much more... Sarah looked up at her mother... "Daddy looks cute in his outfit right mommy?" Meredith just nodded her head... Ted just watched as his bride walked down the aisle. He still could not get over the fact that they were getting married... Everything happened so fast... One day he walked into a store and asked a stranger if she thought the melons were ripe and the next thing he knew she had totally sweep him off his feet and now she was walking down the aisle to be his wife. He could not believe how beautiful she was.... Susan saw Ted. She wiped the tears away... She could not believe she was here... The day Thatcher died she thought she was going to be alone forever, that was until the day a strange walked into a store and asked her if the melons were ripe... She thought back to that day and had to laugh... She could not believe that she fell for that line but she was so glad she did because she could not be any happier than she was right now... About half way down the aisle Shawn saw his daddy... "Hi daddy we are over here.." Again everyone started to laugh... Thankfully Tess was up front and told Shawn to settle down. Derek and Susan picked up the pace just a little so Derek could get to his sons before they really started to act up. Derek looked over at Susan... "We told you..." Susan just smile... "It's a wedding that no one will ever forget." Derek thought to himself That's for sure When the reached the end of the aisle Derek placed Susan's hand in Ted's and gave her another peck on the check, then went over to stand by his sons. With everyone in place the minister started.. He asked who was giving the bride to this man, Susan and Ted looked over at Derek. He nodded his head. "I do." The minister began the ceremony ... He talked about vows and rings about three minutes into the ceremony Shawn started... He pushed his brother..."This is boring." Derek immediately went into dad mode.. He tapped Shawn on the shoulder.... "Shhh." Both boys looked up at their daddy... They could tell he was not happy. Steven laughed and pushed his brother.... "Ha ha you got into trouble." The minister stopped and looked towards the boys. Derek rolled his eyes then bent down and told them both to stop. Meredith closed her eyes and shook her head... She knew this was going to happen... Once both boys went back to just standing there the minister started again. He asked if they had anything to say to each other... They had talked about saying there own vows... They knew they wanted to say somethign to each other but they also knew they had to make it short. Ted shook his head... He turned and looked at Susan... "Susan I love you so much. It was not that long ago I thought I would be alone for the rest of my life... But that all changed when I met you. I am so glad you were there the day I needed help with the melons." Everyone started to laugh... Ted turned his attention away from Susan and looked at the guest... "What its true...I had never had to pick out melons before.. I did not know what to look for." Susan shook her head and rolled her eyes... "Ted you came into life at one of the darkest parts, you brought sunshine back to me and and put a smiled back on my face.. A smile that I never thought would be back there." Tears came to Susan's eyes. Ted wiped them away with his thumb. and mouthed out "I love you" Susan smiled "I love you too, now and forever..." Molly and Meredith looked over at each other. Meredith could tell that Molly was happy for her mother, that there was love back in her life. Meredith did not know if she could do what Susan was doing. If something ever happened to Derek she did not know if she would ever let anyone in her heart. The thought of something happening to Derek brought tears to her eyes. Meredith quickly wiped them away. Derek saw the tears in his wife's eyes and all he wanted to do was go over and hold her and find out what was hurting her. His attention was drawn back to the minister when he started to ask for the rings. He helped Steven walk over to the minister and give him Ted's ring to give to Susan. Susan gave her flowers to Molly to hold. Ted took the ring and placed it on Susan's finger and repeated after the minister.. Susan I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and as the symbol of our unity and with this ring, I thee wed. Susan again had tears in her eyes.... Ted very careful wiped them again with the pad of his thumb... Then minister then asked for Ted's ring. Derek was about to help Shawn walk over to his grandmother when he looked up at his father. "I can do it by myself daddy." Derek could hear the chuckles coming from the first two rows.. He stood back shaking his head and watch Susan take the ring off Shawn's pillow... As soon as Susan had her ring gave Shawn a kiss... "Thank you Shawn. You did a great job." Shawn stood nice and tall as he ran back over to his father..."Did you hear that daddy I did a great job." Again people started to laugh and Meredith covered her face and shook her head... That's my son. Derek bent down once again and reminded his son that is the wedding was not over it and he still needed to be still. Again once everyone stop laughing the minister began... He told Susan to place the ring on Ted's finger and repeat after him... Susan place the ring and said "Ted I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and as the symbol of our unity and with this ring, I thee wed." And with that the minister looked over at Ted and said... Theodore Robert Beck do you take Susan Emily Grey to be your wife. Ted nodded his head. "I do." Then the minister turned to Susan and said Susan Emily Grey do you take Theodore Robert Beck to be your husband. Susan nodded her head. "I do." The minister smiled... With the powers vested in me in the state of Washington I know pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride..... Ted took Susan in his arms.. Their lips met... Sarah's eyes got wide... "Grandma Susan don't kiss him you'll get the cooties!!!" Everyone started to laugh, Meredith's heart stopped she could not believe her daughter. She shook her head "Sarah!" Sarah looked up at her mother "What!!!" Meredith just gave her the mommy look. Ted broke his kiss from his wife... "Now don't want you to get the cooties now do I." Susan took her flowers from Molly and ruffled Sarah's hair... "Thanks for watching out for me Sarah." Then turned back to her husband as he took her arm and headed out of the church. Next to leave were the kids. Derek took each one of the boys hand and Sarah walked out right in front of her daddy with her cousin just beside her. Next to leave was Meredith. The plan was that she would walk out with Ted's son Dane... She was not happy with the idea because she did not like the way he hugged her when they first met but she thought that this was her fake mommy's wedding and it was the least she could do was walk out with her new step son. She really did not think he would try something right there in front of everyone but as they walked out arm and arm he whispered in her ear... "You are beautiful you know that..." Meredith just glared at him..... She could not wait to get to the end of the aisle so she could get this man off of her arm... And that was what she did. As soon as they were down the aisle she took her arm out of his and said. "I know you were just being nice but I am married." She was just happy that Derek had missed the whole thing. She walked away to find her husband, when she found him she put her arms around him and gave him a kiss... "Well that went better than I thought." Everyone mingled for a few minutes until Ted and Susan started moving towards there car... Everyone started clapping as they drove away. Derek suggested that they all drive together in the van and they could came back for the car later. As they drove the reception the kids asked if they did a good job... Meredith had to admit for being as young as they were they did do better than she thought they would.. "You guys did a great job and I am sure Grandma Susan is very happy that you were in the wedding." Shawn winkled his nose... "Sammie did not do so good she cried." Meredith looked in the rear view mirror her little girl was fast asleep sucking her thumb. "That's ok she just got scared when everyone was watching her... She is still a baby..." The rest of the way Sarah and the boys asked where they were going. When Meredith told them they were going to the reception they asked what a reception was and when Meredith told them it was like a party they the got all excited and could not wait... Meredith loved that the little things in life gave them so much joy... Meredith just hoped that Dane got the message and stayed away from her or it was going to be a long night because as much as Derek said he was not jealous she knew if he saw Dane hanging around her he would flip. As they drove up to the Smith Tower and saw Dane just hanging around she took a deep breath and sighed Here goes nothing. |

I'm glad you decided to continue your fic Barbara. I understand it must be disappointing when you don't get comments, but we do have a steady stream of 'lurkers' visiting this area, so you are getting readers. Some of them are maybe just not confident enough to join in unfortunately. I feel our fanfic section took a major hit when we moved from informe, and lost all our archives. I (and a lot of others) felt absolutely devastated about the stuff we lost. I hope we can build this section back up and entice readers and writers to come here and contribute.
