Some time ago, there was a war. The world was at chaos. The brink of destruction came near. Humans who solely relied technology and advancement were the most dominant race on the planet. Their lust for power and control drove them to this achievement. They brought a monetair economy and advancement into the world, but at the cost of eventually their own kind fighting against one another for power which started it all. As time passed, humans too learned the ability to control magic and infused this with their machines. However instead of using it for good purposes, it was morely used for robbery, crimes, killing, destruction, just because humans disagreed with one another, or one had more money than the other. Criminals versus politics. People started to question what was right and what was wrong. Countries started fighting for rights, lives, agreements. Getting rid of weapons was not an option, because humans never really trusted one another. Just the small chance of a "what if" question made them worried and because of that they kept their arms ready. That same action didn't help any other country to trust one another either and so internal wars, weapon-based fights were always there. International arguements started to conflict and eventually they started war against one another. With the combination of destructive weapons based on natural physics and mana-based weaponry, mass destruction weapons were easierly created, even at small scale. People could protect themselves from explosions and at the same time blow up buildings. It was devastating. Mana that once reflected the nature it was flowing in, the hearts of their environment, was being altered, compressed into a tiny tube to forever forge one of a kind elemental mana, in high concentrations deadly for humans. Thus parts of the world got destroyed and recreated, due to climatic natural changes. Of course the people tried to fight this, and so they managed to create "witch hunters". Humans that are immune to magic. The anti mana forces, groups of witch hunters, were capable of bringing peace once more by whiping out the ability for humans to use mana. However the damage done was too much. A very cold winter came, followed by a extremenly hot summer. Climatic changes, the war, everything together made sure a lot of humans were lost, including their technology. As time passed, humans realize they should have trusted and helped eachother more. They started being against power based, weapon based and control based technology. A lot of advancement was reduced to the state of the medival ages, especially since some people prefered to have nothing automatic anymore, however cities started existing in the new world which were full of technology that were never used in the original. Steampunk cities, buildings with copper pipes, steam technology to power their machines. Vehicles that combine steam and mana to travel. Even though humans originally lost the ability to control mana, nature decided to give them a second chance. A very few humans, usually with bright hearts are now capable to control mana at a small scale. Still, for those that cannot, they found a way to pump egergy (compressed mana) into their devices using physics based machines. Some humans are afraid these advancements the people made will cause another tragic war, but the ones that use them think otherwise. They're convinced that they can trust eachother not to use the technology they have for bloodshed. Thanks to the war that took place, a lot of strange things happened to the world. Various new humanoid species were descovered. No one knows weither they were originally from this world or not. Humans discovered various visitors from other places, with strange cultures and technology. Ever since the world reset, it's like they all landed in a whole new different world. A lot of people are fund for exploring, discovering what's out there. Find out what they can and can't use, what things are and what they do. Did the humans really change? |
