Lightening Larry on Wheels; The pics you're all waiting for!

Went to see little Larry the Labrador today with his first set of wheels. Due to the fact that his rear legs are currently rigid through the damage caused by Tetanus it would be impossible to support them with the rear stirrups so we tried him with his back legs down. He tried but could only go backwards due to the fact that the stiff rear legs pointing down and forward were acting as a brake. So we shifted the stirrups onto the side rails and gently supported his rear legs in them and Larry was able to go forward. Not much at first because he had never done this before but we showed him and he learned, showed him again and he learned a bit more, then Eureka away he went on his own. Here he is.

Didn't the little chap just do so well. He did in fact do even better than the video shows and having just spoken with Christina she tells me that he slept like a log and for the first time had a dream in which he was yipping and yapping and tonight she took him for a walk with the lead attached and he was flying along behind her. I am so very pleased for him. He also incidentally had his first poo standing up.

Larry Lamborghini!!!! I like that.

It was lovely to watch, he never had a clue to start with but as we showed him what to do he gradually got the idea and the more he moved the happier he was until his tail was just wagging constantly.

Hopefully with the exercise he will now get through being mobile, the hydrotherapy and care he is getting one day he will not need wheels anymore.
