We are taking Donnie on from another rescue, he's currently en route to Treetops by special courier (aka Wytch!).![]() He's said to be a nice young boy but quite nervous. Hopefully Debs will come on later and give a better description. |

I had the pleasure of transporting this lovely boy to the countryside this morning. He's a ....quite nervous when he meets new people, but with those he knows he wags his tail and goes all wriggly. His curiosity often gets the better of him and he will jump up to look over counters. He's a bit hand shy to the top of his head but let him sniff you and he soon loses his nervousness. Size wise he's on the small/medium size - he looks and feels a lot like Toula, Hazel's girl. He has quite a large head and paws, I think when he's been fed up a bit he'll fill out nicely and be a fair old lump! He's obviously won the hearts of those in his previous rescue - on the way out one of the women who works there raced out to say goodbye to him (that's when he went all wriggly BTW!!) I had fun getting him in the car - he pulled like a train all the way to it, then stopped dead and looked very worried when I opened the tailgate. Workmen on a nearby building site were treated to the unedifying sight of me on my hands and knees in the boot of the car with my bum sticking out trying to coax Donnie in! Got there eventually though! Once he was in he was fine! Watching the scenery on the way down, he settled down when we hit the dual carriageway. He did get a bit fidgety when we got to Guildford again - I don't know whether that's because of the slow speed stop start movement or if he'd just had enough of my driving!! He greeted the staff at Treetops very nicely and although a bit unsure of the slip lead to begin with, he accepted it and trotted off to a new life. Mind you, I did get the "Where are YOU going?" as I left look which was sooooo sad! In the brief time I have spent with him, he didn't put a foot wrong. All he needs is his confidence built up so he realises the world is a nice place! |

He really is. I'm trying to think of an excuse to slip him in as an extra foster. D'ya think Liz would notice? |
