Hi every one. We are desperatly trying to find Max a new home, more importantly a foster home for next week. I am asking everyone if they can help. He is in the vets at the moment being treated for a bad flea allergy which you will see in the pictures. I have sent his pictures to GSRUK and have asked them if they can help but thought I will put him on here as well as we all love our doggies. I will put up what I know about him or what I think about him. If any other rescues can help us with him we would be extremly gratful. I really dont want to send him to kennels next week. Too sad for an old boy in the winter. We are going to neuter,vacc, microchip etc treat his allergy and can transport or at least meet if it is too far for our girls to travel. If you can help Max please email me on cjweyman123@aol.com or PM me. I dont think he is full GSD he has a collie kind of look in his face maybe slight mix, very GSD looking apart from his face!      He is 9 years old, he will be neutered (tomorrow) vaccinated, microchipped etc. He has a really bad flea allergy at the moment and has lost lots of hair on his rear end which you will see. He was signed over to one of our area inspectors. He was told they have had Max for 3 years, so how many homes he has had previous not sure. We were told that he is good with children and cats. He has not shown any aggression to dogs at the vets. I was also told by my head that he had been kept in a shed, to what extent I dont know. Could account for him being very excited at human contact. Maybe when his hair loss got too much they kept him out of their sight! From what I see yesterday I would not put him with a first time GSD owner he was jumping up at the vet nurse and trying to mount her so he is pushing his boundaries ;in my opinion he will probably be quite forward, dominant. He was very friendly with me no barking or jumping at me he liked to have a stroke and massage , he did touch my hands with his mouth no teeth but he made it like he wanted to play but again could be a controlling human thing. I would say if children only teenagers and dog savvy. You know when you dont get a true back ground. He has selective hearing he would turn on his name but didnt listen to sit commands and wasnt interested in treats either, hence crappy pictures. His back legs look fine they will be given a check over but he stands well on them. He is a youngish at heart 9 year old. If you think of anything else you want to know email me. I will follow up his progress. He will be safe at the vets the rest of this week probably need to move him next week. I really dont want him to go to kennels. If you can help that would be fantastic. |

I have now found a foster home for Max, so thats great news.  I will get some better pictures and be able to give some more details on him very soon.  Hopefully then we can find him a new home

Max went to his foster home yesterday, hope he behaves him self Turns out he isnt 9! I have his paperwork and he is 6.5 his date of birth is 16-03-03 he is full GSD Can some one please change the 9year old bit please I will get some nicer pictures of Max hopefully this weekend and post them up |

I am sooooooooooooo proud of Max  What a good boy he was, he was today attacked by a staffie cross, it came running at him and grab him by his throat all he could do was try to get the dog off of him. He didnt have a go back when eventually his owner got over to my foster and got the dog off of his throat. This dog had no recall at all and went straight in for major trouble, thank god Max has loads of hair round the neck area he wasnt injured and neither was my foster mum, thank god. Silly woman bet she doesnt learn form this either, any way she has now been reported. Hope we can find her and get her some lessons, as this happened in Camden I know there is a scheme for ASBO dogs SO WE CAN FORCE HER TO COME TRAINING (If we find her) this scheme is enforced by the local police and the RSPCA. Well done Max you brave boy well done Angie for staying calm and knowing how to deal with this kind of situation

BUMP Going to meet Max tonight he is having his 2nd vacc, I will try and get some more pictures if he will keep still long enough. Have asked his foster mum to do a write up on him so will update his info soon. |

A few new pictures of Max, now you can see how handsome he is. This is a small write up from his foster mum. We've been fostering Max for a couple of weeks now and have found him to have a lovely nature and is pretty chilled out. He's fully house trained and will let you know when he want's to go outside. He walks ok on the lead but does still need some work in that area as I don't think he's used to being walked. It seems that he hasn't been socialised with other dogs so taking him to a few training sessions should help with this and his walking. He could be homed with older children as small children could be knocked over by him if he jumps up. Max can be left alone without destroying anything. He's a sweet boy and deserves a loving home.     Max is still looking for a new home, if you would like to offer Max a home please either send me a PM or email me on cjweyman123@aol.com |
