Special Appeal for George; Now in his forever home!

Many of you will know that George came to us recently with his partner in crime, Henry. Henry is now in foster care but George had to go into kennels as they were fighting. Unfortunately when Alison went to check up on him today she found him to be very poorly. He has an enormous lump on his rear end and so took him immediately to the vet. The diagnosis is that he had a perineal hernia with retroflex of the bladder. The upshot is that we either had to decide to have George put to sleep or allow the vet to operate. Well you have guessed it - we didn't think he deserved to die just because he was 8, and so he is having the operation tomorrow. The cost is approximately £1500.

Vets bills are a nightmare to all rescues I know, but as a new rescue this could potentially wipe us out and with 4 other dogs in kennels and 1 in foster this could be a disaster. John has, therefore, very kindly allowed us to put up this special appeal to raise funds. Any donations would be fantastic, however small.

A special thank you from George who thinks he is worth it!

Can I put the word out about this Lynne please.

Since it was me who got you to take these on in the first place I will split any shortfall with you.

Can you post how donations should be made to make it easy for folks who want to help.

Good luck and best wishes George. :fingers crossed:

You are really all so kind. Can you please either paypal via our website www.southerncountiesgsdrescue.co.uk or through Biggsd and just tell Cheryl it is for George and I am sure she will redirect. Direct to SC would be best as then there are not two lots of PayPal collections. You could also email your pledge to me at lynne@shepview.co.uk and I will then contact you to discuss alternative ways. :worthy: Thank you and thank you Dave Lxx

Thanks for your support!

If anyone wants to send donations the old fashioned way (I'm a bit of a dinasour) - you could send a cheque to Bogmyrtle Cottage, Toms Lane, Linwood, Nr Ringwood, Hampshire BH24 3QX either made payable to Southern Counties German Shepherd Rescue or, if you prefer, to Cedar Veterinary Group, the vets where George is having his operation today.

Will post later with an update!

Come on guys. Even a small amount makes a difference. No rescue needs this kind of bill, but this is a new rescue, so is even more needy.
