Hi, I am looking for a home for Ellie on behalf of her owner whose husband has sadly developed altzheimers disease. Ellie is a beautiful short haired spayed bitch. She is quite highly strung and has had a one to one with a trainer which has really helped. She is good in the house, not great on the lead, so she has a non pull harness which she walks well on. She lives with cats and is good with kids, although she is big and silly so bigger kids are probably best. She has some fear issues with other dogs. Ellie has been sociable, but a couple of attacks have left her feeling vulnerable and she is particularly bad with small dogs and puppies. Ellie is being clicker trained and she can walk past most dogs without reacting (impossible a few months ago, so she is making good progress). Ellie is very responsive and has a great recall, but does not go off lead around other dogs just yet. Ellie needs a firm but gentle handler who will continue her training and maybe do some working trials, obedience or agility with her. She is very bright and loves learning new tricks. Ellie is such a fab dog, but sadly her owner feels that she needs more than she is currently getting. Please help with fostering or rehoming if you can. |
