Posted with permission We have a young male GSD just been signed over to us. He is looking for an experienced foster/new home. He will be three years old in June. He is a short hair mainly black and some gold in colour. His name is Rexas. He is a big strong boy who could on lead pull his owner about quite easily, off lead he was good. He is up to date with his vaccinations I am checking whether he was microchipped with the kennels they need to look at his paperwork to let me know. He is not neutered but we will get him done once he settles down. I am trying to get a picture of him and will call one of the girls tomorrow to see if she will send it to me on my phone so I can download it. His mum was very ill and had a operation her illness went on for a long time and she lost her house as well so she went to live with her boyfriend in his bedsit, no dogs allowed so Rexus spent the weekend in the boyfriends van!!!! He threatened to let him free if no one helped so we took him on. Feed back from the kennels so far is NO CHILDREN, NO CATS, apparently in the park he used to run free off lead no problems unless someone got too close to his mum. She has had him from a young pup. She also used to work full time and left him alone and he is not destructive at home so therefore no seperation anixety. Ok he speaks Polish, well his mum did so his English understanding needs time for him to learn. He attaches himself to one person and guards them, kennel staff have said once you get to know him and he gets to know you he is not difficult. They are taking it step by step with him at the moment he is just learning to trust them, they have not touched him yet he has shown his teeth to them but that was after a weekend locked in a van. So they are just doing their daily jobs and letting him come to them and sniff them etc. I will also say I dont know if any of staff are qualified behaviourists , so if there is any one around Watford way that is I will get permission for you to go and look at him, if I could get there I would love to do my own assessment. Not asking for much peoples I know but somewhere someone could give Rexas a chance, guidenance and a loving home. Please PM me or email on cjweyman123@aol.com for any more info. He will need someone tough guys. ONLY EXPERIENCED PERSON FOR THIS BOY He really will take the mile if given the inch, with the right mum or dad he will be good. |

I bet he'll be a different dog once he gets settled in the right envionment with someone who knows what they are doing and some training classes. I'm not suprised he's a bit peeved after being stuffed in a van and then taken to kennels. Has he been tested with other dogs? How is your polish? lol |

They have not tested him with other dogs, but his owner said off lead in the park he is fine, Would prefer to see for my self. The girls in the kennels say he has really turned a corner in the past couple of days and has been playing ball with them. I work with lots of Polish people and I was having lessons, trying to say it in Polish and writing in my English!!! Anyway I passed these words on to the staff and she said she done the sit command and he done it!! Not sure if she has had a chance to try them all but he is responding t English as well now. I am going to get some more info on if we can send him to be neutered soon etc and when he comes out of the kennel get some more pictures of him. Would be great if we could get him a foster I am working on back up for him as he is not in the right place (kennels) at the moment will keep you all up to date.

Hi  Rexas is happily settled in his new home with 2 other GSDs. I saw him a few weeks ago at Essex 2000 Champ. W/T . he looked very well & very fit. Had eyes only for his dad and his ball Lyn
