Great photo of Gem snuggled up to Ted. Thrilled that she has calmed down and especially that the lovely Ted is happy. You worked hard through her initial 'issues' and Gem has come up trumps. Well done Louise and family.

Thank you Hayley

Will keep posting so you can all see Gem grow, she is a pleasure. Its so lovely to see the hard work we are doing with both Ted & Gem pay off.

It showed weekend just gone when all four of us were in bed with a terrible tummy bug.... and I mean terrible. Gem wasn't sure who to comfort first so just walked around checking we were all ok and our friend came in to walk her & Ted but she wasn't happy about leaving us but armed with treats! our friend got her out for a walk and she was fine.

Us again! sorry

Gem had a vets app yesterday forgot to mention. She was weighed and is doing really well Vet is very happy with her. Vet was one of the partners so went over her with fine tooth comb! think he knows I'm a bit protective of our animals and worry about anything and everything!

Gem was great, she did bark at the other dogs but we went to the quiet corner and she lay down and waited for her turn, he did mention she may have H/D because she does have weak hinds but as she is not lame he isn't worried at this time. She was so good allowing him to check her all over where as the last vet just wanted to weigh and go incase of stressing her. I went because I needed her anal glauds checking.....as she was scooting....he had a nice job as they were full. I also wanted to get all her wormer and flea treatment etc, he feel in love with her as everyone does once they have met her you cant not give her a hug! :smitten:

Ted was happy that it wasn't him this time, little does he know!

Hi All

Just to let you know that Gem is doing very well, her cage is now now as we have no reason for her in go in it either when we are out or flashpoints. Ted and Gem are best buddies and although they (Ted) has a moan sometimes 99% of the time they are playing, cuddling or just ignoring each other. Gem seems to be happy in her own space now too which is nice to see. She has her good days and bad days where she needs that little more support but on the whole she is fab!

Best wishes

Louise Ted & Gem

Hi all

Just to let you all know Gem is doing REALLY well, her weight is going up slowly but nicely, her muscle tone is looking much better. Her behavour is MUCH better. We are always on the look out for flash points between her and Ted but they are playing well together which is great to see. Almost five months on she has come so far. She really doesn't like little dogs but has allowed my Dads one to get close! she has learnt that maybe they are not so bad and sometimes you can make friends!

She totally adores our children who in return adore her. She brillant with children of any shape and size. She is just the best family girlie! but with a hint of naughty but nice!

She has decided to help Ted out in the garden with digging! they can both dig faster than I can fill! am thinking of getting her a sand pit along side the childrens!

She had the mobile groomer on Tuesday which she wasn't happy with but was very good and had a good wash and blow dry......wow did she look fluffy and yummy. She still isn't happy with being left but I think its more that she is missing out rather than they are not coming back! I can take the children to nursery and she is fine....I can pick them up and she is fine....go to the stables, shopping or anything else which means be leaving the house and she has something to say :voodoo: !

I think she is very happy in her new home, she has calmed down a lot well as much as GSD calm can calm down...

We are very proud of her and how well she has come on.

Best wishes to all

Darren, Louise, Michael, Reece, Gem & Ted

Lovely update, Louise. I can just imagine Ted & Gem 'digging' together in your garden. It's so good that you are keeping on top of any potential 'flashpoints' with Gem & Ted. Also that she is so great with the twins and other children!

Just the best weekend away with Gem and Ted. We went to brighton on our Motorhome and had a great time. We meet lots of dogs and at last seem to have made real progress with Gems problem with little dogs.....she is more relaxed because of this and today we went for a bike ride with her and after 5 minutes she settled into her stride and was really relaxed in being next to me whilst Darren had the kids in the trailer behind him. Ted stayed at home for this exercise! much to his delight...he went out after on his own as Gem was so tired....at last some energy has been burnt off! she was the perfect motorhome girlie! we took her crate so she felt safe and her toys so she had all her thing around her and she loved every minute. We have booked up for Cornwall, Wales, Devon, Wiltshire plus a few more brighton trips.

Best wishes to all....off to look for the next walk event as think that Gem might be ready.
