![]() Meet Fizz; she is a two-year-old female German Shepherd that has been with us since early August, after arriving as a stray. Fizz was very nervous when she first arrived here and didn’t take well to the kennel environment and still doesn’t show herself off particularly well. Look past this and you will find an affectionate and loving dog once she gets to know you. She is very playful, loving to play with her toys! She enjoys her walks although tends to be quite strong on the lead, walking much better on a harness. She is not destructive in her kennel and is calm and quiet when left for short periods. She knows most of her basic commands, sit, paw, stay and down, however she can be a bit on the stubborn side at times so would benefit from further training, but this shouldn’t be too much of a problem as she is food orientated! She is good with some dogs, however she could do with more socialisation as she is quite scared of them so would be best homed as the only dog. Anyone who is interested in adopting her would need to come up and build a bond with her on a regular basis before taking her as she can be wary and nervous of meeting new people, mainly men therefore will need a 1-1 with our dog trainer. She will make a loyal companion although she hasn’t mixed with cats and would suit a nice family household where any children are aged 16+. Fizz can be found in E Block with ID number 14137 Fizz has been posted on behalf of and with the permission of BCDH to whom ALL enquiries MUST be directed. The recommended rehoming catchment area is Bristol to Swindon. Although for dogs needing follow up veterinary or behavioural treatment the catchment area is Gloucester to Somerset. However if you are interested in rehoming Fizz and you live outside of these areas PLEASE contact BCDH for clarification Bath Cats & Dogs Home The Avenue Claverton Down Bath BA2 7AZ Tuesday-Sunday 11am-4pm Closed Mondays-except Bank Holidays Switchboard is open 11am to 4.00pm (01225) 787321 enquiries@bathcatsanddogshome.co.uk Quoting Fizz E Block ID number 14137 |

This gorgeous girl is looking for a very special home. She arrived as a stray, and seems to have had a very bad past. She is very worried and tense around new people, and can't have anyone touch her collar, and is also very scared about having cuddles - especially if you try stroking down her back. Once she has steadily gained your trust she becomes better, but it takes a little while. I feel she will have her mistrust for quite a while, so she needs owners to understand her and realise it may take her much longer than other dogs to settle into a home. She is very loyal, and once she likes you, she can't get enough of you! Lots of kisses, and she is quite happy to have you sit in her bed with her! She becomes much more relaxed, as you can see from the photos. Adores her walks, but will require more socailstion with traffic as she will lunge. Dogs are a tricky point, she is very scared of them, so gradual introduction would be best. If you feel you have the right home, please consider this beautiful girl!! |

She almost looks like a GSD head on a rottie body, as her body does look quite bulky. Not sure if a rottie cross wouldnt have the floppy ears though I think the groundkeepers dog here fancies having Shepweiler puppies the way he comes onto Morgan, licking sweet nothings in her ear then trying his luck Edited by Morgan&Edenn, 16 Sep 2008, 08:59 AM.
