TYE 18 month old neutered GSD x Husky Tye is a typical young GSD x Husky that has been raised without firm boundaries. He is a beautiful and very affectionate boy that just needs the chance in life to show everyone what he can do. He needs an experienced, firm handler in a home where there are no children or cats where they can continue his education. Tye is very intelligent and highly trainable. He is a bit pushy with other dogs but could be homed with the right match and lives with another male here. Huskies by nature are highly sociable and are prone to separation distress, his new home will need to spend time training Tye to gradually accept being alone. The foundations of training are evident and although he needs more work he will make someone a fantastic pet.

Tye is getting loads of training and socialisation here now and he is just not the same dog that arrived here. The story of his progress can be found on our forum for anyone who is interested. http://z10.invisionfree.com/PFK/index.php?showtopic=4327

Nope, Tye is still here, he has grown up a lot and is no longer the teenage lout but a nice friendly lad. We need to change his write up and a behaviourists report is available for anyone interested in him. |

Yes he is still looking after being with us for a year, in all that time not one person has shown interest in him from either this site or our own. Until recently he was kennelled where visitors could see him and everyone who saw him wanted to take him home but of course none were in a position to manage him at home. He is a dominant dog who will bully other dogs if he can. Children would be fair game too I suspect so no kids please. (or cats) We have similar problems with all the large breed crosses yet the back yard breeders are still churning them out and the punters are still buying the cute puppies, what an utterly ridiculous situation!!!! The GSD people dont want Tye and neither do the Husky owners. The people who want a mutt dont want one this big and strong and active so this lovely dog is stuck in kennels. The breeder took his money and shut the door.

I cant believe that Tye is still waiting for a home. I also own a Husky x GSD called Ty and he has had his issues, but he has responded very well to training. This cross is so loving and affecionate and highly trainable, he will return your love 1000 times...... Come on people When I win the lottery.. |

My mum and Dad had a GSD x husky she was so intelligent and a delight to be around she lived and loved to lean, that's what my dad said and it was true every morning my dad and her went for a walk then to the shops to get the paper and she always come back home with a treat that she carried herself and only eat it when she was on her matt.I know that when he finds his forever family they will be very lucky to have him as my family were lucky to have Tara. |

He has been selected for security dog training and assessment and will be going away soon for a few weeks, beyond that we must see how he gets on. |

Tye has left the building with Shadow, he has a lot to learn but its looking good. The dogs will have a wonderful time in training and in work, much better than being stuck in kennels and we have two spaces to get two of the dogs living outdoors into the warm for the winter. The deal is that they can come back at ANY time if they need too and I will be going to see them in training. We have been told that they will not be passed on and on retirement they will go home with the handlers. Its a risk and it could be a con but my gut feeling is good. Good luck boys!!!! |
