Treacle Needs A New Home

Treacle is our six year old german shepherd bitch, She really is a lovely loving dog and i will be sad to see her go.
The problem is we have 2 other german shepherds and we cant offer her the type of specialist attention she deserves and needs.
She has slight aggression problems, She is fine with me and my family and people who regularly visits the house but is not good with strangers.
We have a 8 month old baby and although treacle is fine with her i think a house with either no children or older children would be best for her.
Treacle is spayed.

Some more about treacle,
She is extremely loyal and a pleasure to walk, She is a fantastic guard dog. She is really friendly familar faces. She loves her fuss. She will happily tuck herself out of the way.

We have not taken Treacle to training classes but my partner has tried to train her, he has alot of experience with german shepherds.

she does know basic commands and will do as she is told as long as she is relaxed.

Treacle is a very territorial dog and is wary of unfamilar faces especially males.

We think treacle would benefit from some strict training. with the right handler and a loving home Treacle could be a perfect loving pet.

It will be sad without her but she deserves so much more.

We live in the west midlands.

awwww she look stunning, her coat is gorgeous. I know how hard it is with babies and dogs. My 1st shep was 2 when my daughter came along (she's 21 now) and he was sooo jealous, he even pinned the midwife up against the wall.

Took us a few months to work things through with him. By the time she was crawling he was so used to having his tail pulled, his ears pulled and being crawled all over lol.

I'm sure there's a home waiting for her somewhere, where she can get all the attention she wants. :fingers crossed:

I hope so, shes so lovely and i love her so much and its so hard giving her up but out of the 3 shepherds we have she is the biggest risk to my baby.
We could easily take her to a rescue home but the thought of her sitting in a rescue home for months is horrible and im not prepared to put her through that.
Im just not sure what else we can do. :(

Treacle is still looking for a new home, We have now started dog training with her and she is responding well. The trainer has said that she shows no signs of aggression so we now think that it is just a territorial thing.

We are now getting desperate as 3 dogs is too much for us. I have spent most of the day calling around rescue homes as we are now running out of options. If anyone can help please private message me.

She is gorgeous and although shes 6 i dont think she has reached her peak yet (look wise)

When we got her she was very thin and has just started to put the weight back on. She really is a gorgeous girl and will be very much missed.

It does take a long time sometimes. You are doing the right thing. BIGGSD is one of the very best ways - I think it is wonderful. It took me from June 2007 to Jan 2008 to find the right home for a lovely German Shepherd - but it was so important to find the right home. Just keep on updating the site and letting everyone know of all the progress. Keep working at the training and keep looking and an answer will come. Your sad thing is that there are just so many lovely GSDs out there, all needing our help. Hope things work out soon - will keep her in my mind and mention it whenever I can.

She's stunning! I'd snap her up in a second, but my female sheppy is dominant and it sounds like they'd butt heads.

Best of luck!
When God made German Shepherds, He was just showing off!
