We believe Rocky is a possible Utonagan X Northern Inuit aged 2 years. Rocky has a lovely temperament, is neutered, fully vaccinated and wormed. Rocky has a gentle sweet nature, has been good with other dogs, very responsive, and hasn’t been destructive or guarding and generally clean.
Rocky has been with me since early October. He is getting incredibly bored in kennels, sits in the yard refusing to come in (not at all aggressively) until he’s been for a walk and the walks are getting longer and longer.
Apparently he has been used to cats, rescued and abandoned previously too. Not sure how many people he has been passed through but certainly think he’s been with a few poor boy and through no fault of his own, just irresponsible ownership.

He will NOT suit someone who just wants to amble up the road and back again. He needs a lot of stimulation and exercise. He has been very laid back and very friendly. He loves to play with toys and has not been guarding or over the top when playing.

As well as mental and physical exercise, Rocky will take a while to settle in (as do they all generally), I mean in the sense that he will not be clean for at least a few days. He will defecate the house as when he’s moved it’s often a real protest about the move.
He doesn’t mean anything nasty by it, just hates the constant up and down. He’s moved a couple of times within the kennels and has not been clean when he’s moved. It’s his way of saying he’s unhappy and unsettled when he gets moved. Rocky will need time, patience and understanding. He has been in kennels for a long time and this is paramount.

To us, Rocky strikes us as being an only dog in the family as he’s very much of a loner in some regard. He will attach himself to one person (not in a constant following way) and seems quite content. However, that is not to say that he may not be just as happy within a pack of dog/s, he just needs the correct home for him.
Also, we don’t feel he will suit a home with kids under teenage age.
