Entire post is contribution to your work for AEE forums. All AEE mod in my memory is precisely connected with your name - TURKEYS


It's a good place now, for drunk man like me (new year's night, to tell about newest AEE progress)...

I'm just listening Nick Kershaw "Wouldn't it be good" and trying to think about what would I like to say about AEE progress...

- New historical map, with cities and places from the era: Khokand, Pattala, Ebrodunum and may other,
- new resources,
- new buildings,
- new environment,
- new geography.

Btw. It's a good place to start debate about resources...

As you know resources in Vanilla engine are limited. We can have fixed amount of resources. And it's not good news, but I decided to mess with it slightly... Finally I managed to obtain good results. Furs resource was taken out from the game. We've got fish resource instead of. Moreover I've added spice resource to east regions. What about camels and elephants? They are good moding material.
In the beginning I've made them exchangeable resources... (it's enough to change they value from 0 to 1, 2, 3, 4,5, etc.)
That's why having 0 value they are so called resources. "0" value in descr_sm_resources means that they are used only as attribute that's used for marking place where camels or elephants are placed on he map. Nothing more or less.

Next, I thought - "though camels and elephants may be used as regular resource instead of only so called half resource that only shows that particular region can have units based on mounted camels or elephants. Camels or Elephant units may be recruited in every place on map basing on hidden resource... So, instead having "empty" resources (elephants and camels can't be bartered for other goods because they have 0 value set in descr_sm resources) we can use it as base for regular resource like for instance: coal and wool.

So, it's very likely - I'll take out camels and elephants from map (as graphical marks). I will replace them with other new resources. Of course units based on camels and elephants will be still available but regions with them won't be not marked by showing camel/elephants symbols on the map.

By this we've get new resources like coal, wool spices, fish.

Ps. I'm just making eastern part of AEE map [with Afghanistan with Orthospana (Kabul), silk road, etc.].
