I ran into two problems today. First, when opening the program, after one note of music my screen flickers and the game drops to the desktop. I can get it to come back after a while of fiddling with the screen resolution through the preferences file, but no matter what I change it to, I have the same problem every time I open the game. Is there a way around this? Second, I had my first CTD going to battle with the handsome guy. I've posted screens and save game. Thank you. Spoiler: click to toggle Spoiler: click to toggle |

I decided to spare General Handsome and disposed of him a few turns later. I just had another CTD during the winter turn phase as Paestum was being attacked by the rebel siegers, so yes, it looks like it may be the winter problem. I'll see if I can work around it. Spoiler: click to toggle

Hey guys....im playing romans and macedon all with no issue. Well, there was one ctd yesterday...i had sieged epirus out of syracuse and went to attack them to finish them off, then it crashed when i was loading the battle map but it was probably a unit problem or sprite or something...but other than that its been going great. |

Yeah, Maksim. I have gotten into the habit of hitting ctrl+S before starting any on map battle.

Limes, I ran a test on the Carthaginian faction this morning. As with Seleucia, I identified Hippo Regius, Lepcis Magna and Caralis as 3 towns without governors. I then turned off all AI construction and recruiting. I advanced the game one turn. Then I turned on the AI recruiting switche for those 3. Caralis has only the "mob" choice. The others have a selection of units to choose from. In the ensuing turn, Hippo and Lepcis duly recruited Libyan Spearmen units and Caralis began recruiting a mob. (!) It works. All that seems necessary is to give the AI another choice aside from the Mob. No problem with Carthage advancing or building. |

The intro is realy good, the loading screens are great, the units are very impressive, the battle maps are awsome. The first scripted battle was eye popping when i saw the battle map. I had the same probs as most with ctd after the first go but i just copied the 4tpy script from Limes post 121 here over the one in data\scripts\show me and everything works fine so far. Its just so good, i think i will have to give up work and just play for a few months
