4tpy mod is tied with few AEE files, that may produce ctd. I have to gather more information about common reasons of ctd reported lately.

I wonder whether ctd is connected with situation that script was not started. I'm going to examine it now.

Maksim. I'll post soon 4tpy script without initial battle of Sipontum. It may generate crash. Stay tuned.

4tpy script without spawned Epirote armies and without initial intro. Your suggestion was that common issue is connected with army of Epirus. Maybe spawned armies are the reason.

Just copy attached script into data/script folder. Make an emergency copy of old script. Then start new campaign.

I agree with you...I think for me it has something to do with the script cause I've done everything with the installation that I was supposed to do.. keep 4 turns/per year off i can view cities and construction/recruitment. Turn it on and it all goes to @#!*% lol....no middle ground man lol

AEE needs to be tested well :). AEE lived too long in world of Matrix. Only code, scripts, models, etc. without real testing.

I'm looking for possible weak sides of uploaded files. I have to compare it with my preparatory version of AEE. Then, having your reports I will be able to fix issues. We'll see.

Hey limes I can view construction and recruitment without crashing but ending the turn in first year still crashes the game.

What's up with cliffs_debug, etc? These files should be placed in your directory.

Correct AEE path should be: Activision/Rome - Total War/...

Inside Rome - Total War folder you'll find different folders and files like:

- bi, data, custom, docs, Miles, preferences, saves, temp (folders),

- cliffs_debug, corrected_regions, gamespy, icon, mss32.dll, RomeTW, RomeTW-BI (files)

I hope so. I knew that scripting needs more time and efforts :):).

I'll take care of it. I have to check lods for models and make new sprites. I'm going to note this in "things that need to be done" in post #1 of "AEE progress".

hey limes sry should have made a new post instead of editing. I can view city construction and recruitment but when end the turn in the first year the game still crashes.....I understand its a new mod so just glad to be apart of testing thx.

As I said before. I concentrated on Slaves. We have to prepare list of recruitment in particular AOR for factions. I tried to make it well, but it seems I missed sth.

Off hand, it looks as if there is only a "governor's house" and that building only allows for recruiting mobs that the AI will do it in that town. Whatever you did for the Slave faction seems to have worked perfectly in Italy. The slaves do not recruit mobs.


I'm going to start the Seleucid campaign now and, as before, withdraw my garrisons, let them rebel, and see what the AI does.

Will let you know.

I'm encouraged that Dany was able to get it working by doing a proper re-install.

There are at least two issues with sprites. I have to check it yet. Making mob-free fix I had to change way sprites are parsing in DMB. It means that mercenaries and slaves are not allowed to be together in one record in DMB. Of course only in few cases. Not all units are invloved.

In this case you'll get explicit report about reason of CTD.
CTD without further info is characteristic for missing sprites of wrong records in DMB.

I'm going to create new set of sprites for Epirotes and Romans.

Testing procedures.

- all units engaged in battle of Corfinium (Spart saved game) will get new sprites
- new DMB entries,

If sprites are involved in CTD new sprites should fix it.

About my save : I have always ctd when entering Paestum's battle in winter but works fine if I play battle next turn.

What I've got after few tests. Microsoft made big mess with all of thes versions of OS. I'm startin' to think it's not AEE.

1. I used my preparatory version of AEE with Spart saved game . He had ctd when battle was loaded (compatibility mode with XP and Service Pack)
2. Battle loaded ok. (compatibility mode with XP and Service Pack)
3. Battle loaded ok, but clicking on settlement generated CTD (compatibility mode with XP and Service Pack)

4. I turned off compatibility mode with XP and Service Pack. Started AEE as ADMINISTRATOR. GAME WORKS PERFECTLY. NO CTD. Battle loads ok, clicking on settlement - ok.

Just everybody make sure tha the game is in the Activision/Rome - Total War folder,
btw, i couldnt test the mod further today i will continue tomorrow
