Ad. 1. "Italrights" entry is not "in game" anymore. "Italref" is valid entry. Ad.2 Reforms are needed for Rome home areas (ager romanus) and allies. Ally units will be transformed to Romans, Romans will be transformed to Imperial Romans. When game starts both Romans and Allies can't build Legions. If I change descr_strat (to be 100 % historically accurate) Rome and Capua will start building Legions too early. Edited by limes, Jan 1 2010, 12:08 PM.

Hey guys I got the setup program off of deposit files and ran it no problem, except the desktop shortcut icon(as well as Start Menu) was missing. I used the filename "AEE.ico" in the install script. I've been a bit busy while on vacation. I fly back tomorrow and will provide more feedback. Happy New Year

Yeah - I noticed the icon problem too but it seemed far down on the list. Okay, Limes, I'm making progress. Following the plan I emailed to you. About to attack a non-Italian region. Everything else "seems" to be okay as of now. |

The export_building.txt file survived final testing. I emailed it to you a few minutes ago. As indicated, I invaded Sardinia and then used the cheats to build up the town's population and buildings to make sure that all possible structures had descriptions. It passed. Unless you have something else for me to look over, I will pick one of the eastern factions and see how things look. Maybe Armenia? |

Been playing as Pontus since yesterday. I sent Limes a list of minor problems but the good news is that there are no major malfunctions, boys. |

I've got Military Reforms Level 1 working....now if it will just stop screwing around with Levels 2 and 3 we may have something! #2 still causes a CTD. |

Illyria is both Barbarian and GrecoRoman, causing it to be ungovernable because of social unrest. All of the buildings are barbarian, but every province starts off as GrecoRoman, and the Ruling family is GrecoRoman. I recommend converting all royal family and starting culture of provinces to Barbarian. Also noting a lot of problems when right-clicking on a unit from a building scroll. Problems range from missing image in unit description to CTD. Some Greek hoplites still use Macedonian phalanx formation instead of shield wall with overhand spear animation. I really like the Royal Spartan skin ! Can you replace the regular Spartans with the same or similar skin? I just can't stand those conehead helmets LOL!I tested the installer on a Steam version of the game (it was only $9 so why not) and had difficulty. I think the problem is that the root folder is not called "Rome - Total War". I bought the complete pack (Rome Gold + Barbarian Invasion + Alexander) so my root folder was "rome total war gold" and the installer created a folder called "Rome - Total War" within the root folder, and failed to delete map.rwm . I will try to find a solution after I am finished playing some more factions. |

Hey, Maj...I've got a technical question for you. I'm using Windows 7 since last Summer and this is the first time since then that I'm trying to mod RTR files. I had no problem using Notepad in the past. For whatever reason, the export_units and export_building text files are giving me fits. I've made some changes to the strat file and export_descr_buildings and EDU without incident - ALL using NOTEPAD. However, making text changes to those 2 text files causes the game to CTD as soon as I hit advance...usually. Sometimes it starts to advance and craps out....most times it CTDs instantly. As an experiment I made sure that everything was working properly and then went into export_units and renamed the Funtidores as Roman Archers. All I did was overtype the word Funtidores. When I started the game it duly reported that the Funditores were "Roman Archers" (and I could have called them the 10th SS Panzergrenadier Battalion and the game shouldn't have cared!) but as soon as I hit advance I got a CTD. Replacing the term "Roman Archers" with Funtidores fixed the problem. I am mystified. I've gotten the First level reforms done and working but the 2d level reforms resist any effort to write a description. Any thoughts at all? |

I've tried that. For that matter on your Italref2 description I put in qwertyqwertyqwerty and it duly showed up on the Building Info scroll but caused a CTD when I tried to advance. I don't know HOW I got Italref1 to work. |

You mean description of reforms for Pontic faction? All roman reforms can be initialized on the Build. Info Scroll without any problem. As I can see I have to change images that illustrate other faction reforms. Without text it works fine. I'll try to check it. Edited by limes, Jan 3 2010, 07:25 PM.

I've got the Italref1 for all of the eastern factions both the long and short versions. It is when I try to enter text for italref2 that I get no where. I just downloaded an editor that someone at TWC recommended. Giving it a try now. |

Wait a moment. I will send you newest file. I thought it's the same in installer. 4 bytes of difference. Ok. Files was sent. Descr_buildings should work. It works in my AEE. Check proper lines. I filled it with exemplary "dfdfhdjdkf" text. Btw, I've sent fixed Kingdom of Pergamon (instead of Roman Rebels) expanded_bi file. Edited by limes, Jan 3 2010, 08:00 PM.

:). Thanks for offer Johannes. It's nice. Testing is hard job and needs a lot of experience (knowledge of modding nomenclature, special communication and deep understanding of game engine processes). I would like to perform short tests only, so I need to avoid preparing special testing platform which requires more organized work and a lot, lot of time. Spart and MAJ Pain will check most vital areas of the game, then everyone will test AEE on his own :). Spart, as most experienced member (in Draknar's Mod and first AE Team) knows all secrets of our work. Thank to it we'll be ready soon. Edited by limes, Jan 4 2010, 10:44 AM.
